@Traxxasred It's actually a bit more complicated than that, and I know because I'm in the process of doing it myself. Quite frequently the uniforms of various mods are slightly different in name, so you need to find the ID for the uniform elsewhere and replace it that way. It's actually easier to just go in-game, use the in-game editor, and replace the gear via the editor's arsenal. It saves out on scripting and having to spend half and hour trying to figure out how where the hell the CUP ammunition IDs are. edit: I'd like to say that since I posted the last comment, I've gotten the missions to work. It turns out it was user error that resulted in the mission breaking, but tbf in some missions they still use the older and unnecessary code for triggers and units, and I don't really want to replace them.
My favourite pc game ever, I am 33 now, used to play this game when it came out: OFP in 2001, Resistance in 2002 and meanwhile OFP Red Hammer (Dimitri Lukin's story). Spent a lot of hours online, also played in EFL (European Flashpoint League) Clan Wars. Every detail in this game was a masterpiece: weapons, vehicles, uniforms (soviet's leaf camo, us camo, resistance camo based on "Alpentarn" and "Flecktarn"), great story, great music, physics, high level of diffuculty, open world.
They just don't produce quality like this anymore. I consider myself fortunate to have experienced the 90's and early 2000, times like that don't seem to be coming back in our generation any more.
I mean we DO get some really high quality games these days, but Operation Flashpoint was something else.....considering it (along with its expansions) came early 2000's, these games dont get nearly enough praise not +15 years later for what they did and were back then......whenever some-one does "best and most revolutionary games of all time" list these days, Operation Flashpoint rarely gets a mention....certainly wasnt a game for everyone, but I always laugh when I hear some-one say that these games were "too hard" for average player to pick up.....honestly, they games and their interface wasnt THAT hard to pick up.... Anyhow I quess what I was trying to say is that we get quality content these days as well, but nothing even nearly as amazing as OFP was....in fact all my top 5 games of all time are either from late 90's or early 2000s (Warcraft III, OFP, Outcast, Half-Life, Halo: Combat Evolved)....and while many of these games havent aged that well necessarily, back when they came out they were either truly revolutionary or otherwise just damned polished and amazing experiences.... But anyhow its great to see some old Flashpoint fans out there, there may not be that many of us, but Im glad to know that Im not the only one out here having really fond and nostalgic memories from these games.... If they ever remade this campaings ( I know original campaings were modded to Arma 2 engine and actually plan to play them soon enough) and added co-op option, I would most certainly love to play them with other fellow Flashpoint fans.
Greatest Game of its time and from 2001 to 2012 I played it and visiting it once in a while after that. Nothing like it at the time with the open-ended map with tremendous mods from any era of conflict! Best game of the decade!
@@VynalDerp There is a very old comment here from myself on an old account about a campaign being worked on for ArmA 2 set in modern day Nogova, where Victor Troska will feature, having survived, with a flashback mission explaining how. It is set in a reality where Victor Troska somehow managed to survive, is lost for decades only to re-emerge some 40 years later, now old yet alert and fit after living in exile, on an island off the coast of Nogova, only surviving of what nature has to offer such as roots and berries in seclusion. He will take up arms against the Russian Federation when they try to take Nogova once more, in 2015. He is tired of war and had hoped that the 1982 Nogova war would have been the last time. But he will do it one last time, for the sake of the Nogovan people. He is meant to re-appear somewhere right in the middle of the campaign and will even have a set of missions, the first one being set at the end of the final mission of OFP: Resistance with Victor's narration of how he survived and what happened after everything, which will be the mission that triggers after the mission in which he is re-discovered. The other missions where you play as Victor Troska will be with the Nogovan Highland Rangers. Sounds interesting? :)
