you are great as usual. Transotype paper its good for markers , as good as quality bristol board. Have you ever tried watercolor for background coloring? Texture granilating colors are so good. I have made galaxy background 10 times easier.
A3 size is talking too much time because is the need of details. but , if you want to make a smaller print it make it on a4 size marvelous
