Tornado - Inside Terrifying EF1 Extremely Violent Tornado

- Terrifying experience as this EF1 Tornado passes over my home in Caddo Parish in Shreveport, La. This could also have been a possible straight line wind event, as it passed over my home, I was tariffed, thought my roof was going to blow off my home as the storm proceeds to roll through my neighborhood.

Awesome video! Just wanted to inform you while yes this was bad, this was not a tornado. This was in fact straight line winds as you can tell because there is not a sudden change in wind direction and the wind was blowing in one direction. If a Ef-1 tornado did hit your house, there would be a good chance your roof would be badly damaged or gone.
Thank you
@@dblack4me your welcome 👍🏻
Absolutely right. Those were straight line winds. I don't like when goofballs puts on false titles just to lure us " the viewers" so they can gets "likes" on their channel. Trust me he wouldn't be hanging around the windows if an F1 tornado flew close like that. F1 tornadoes can still do great amount of damage.
@@steverouleau8642 I don't think he was purposely putting on a false title, after all he did say a tornado, or possibly straightline winds. Either way those were some strong winds!
@@steverouleau8642 It was interesting that at the end of the video the winds had changed direction 180° from the start of filming/recording. As you stated, most likely straight-line winds approaching F1 wind speeds.
Gosh there was so much water coming down, or at least trying to come down, a lot of it was traveling horizontal!
Classic microburst. No tornado. But it did drop 2”-3” of rain in 5 minutes. Pretty epic nonetheless
Yeah, just your average Floridan afternoon
i wonder why they call it Microburst. Dude was practically floating
This is textbook derecho....no circulation, one-way wind direction....and tornado doesn't last that long. Check videos of derecho in Iowa couple years back.....videos portray same activity.
@@michaelpolansky2195 dude fr use less dots when writing something wtf
@@Sharpless2 I'll be sure to take writing and punctuation lessons from you, Dr Silicon
Definitely stright line winds. Even though it looks really bad, that is what I would say was a lower speed of stright line winds. I've seen first hand what higher speed stright line winds can do because i've been through them. Back in my old house where I used to live we had a major storm come through with really high speeds of stright line winds that blew down at least 50 plus trees just on our property alone.
Watch around 1:10 it was definitely around 65+ mph winds, most likely a microburst. But if there was a confirmed tornado it was most likely RFD or an inflow jet. Definitely not low end straight line winds.
Such a great video! So glad they were safe & there homes but this was amazing to see! Usually the person filming it going nuts & the video isn’t that good! Amazing video!
I’m more convinced this was a microburst. But, if it was a tornado it probably was only an EF-0.
Incredible footage my guy!
That was really amazing footage
That storm packed a punch for an F1, you kinda scared me in the end running around, I thought the big one was next.
Great footage
you talking about rain water coming down in buckets...this is it. it is a Miracle the street didn't get flooded with all that rain coming down.
that was intense! l whether it be straight line winds or an F1 tornado pretty cool footage.
Awesome footage
Was this the same one that went thru downtown and hit the church steeple?
*I* *WAS* *THERE* 🙏🏼 *THE* *WIND* *KNOCKED* *DOWN* *THE* *CHURCH* *STEEPLE* *DOWNTOWN* *SHREVEPORT* 🙏🏼
Looks like one went by and you're in the RFD. I had an EF1 pass within a half a mile of my house and it was just like that.
Wow great footage that wind is pretty strong I'm worried that something like this may end up happening in my neighborhood in the future
Thank you 👍🏾

I'm a NWS Storm Spotter for their SKYWARN program, and I doubt this is an EF1 tornado. Now yes, a wind event did occur on this day, but no tornadoes were reported at all.

Yeah this is just a microburst. And a good one at that! There’s no change in wind direction which you’d see with a tornado. Awesome clip nonetheless!
It’s a microburst not a tornado
Microburst? Dude there is nothing “micro” about it. This is easily EF6 or 7 level winds. You gunna tell me you didn’t see all those homes uprooted from that lawn? My guy many bugs lost their lives in this macroburst ok!
Cool van!
Wow like summer storm
Looks like a microburst - no wind direction change, but quite a bit of heavy wind nevertheless!
I totally agree. The individual who posted a video about this should actually educate himself more about the difference between tornadoes and microbursts
I'm not hear to argue if it was a tornado or not but a micro burst can produce winds as damaging as some tornadoes an do as much damage I'd say either way this guy shit his pants
@@steverouleau8642

@@steverouleau8642 Oh look at mister Steve, educating people on how or what they should think. Nevertheless he was scared !! Maybe instead of being a dick, help him understand better.
As a hobby meteorologist, I don't think that this was an EF1 tornado. What I'm seeing here are straight line winds, which leads me to believe that this is a derecho.
Also, how come it says "Tornado 2021", since the video was published Jun 1, 2013?
Good question 🤔
It says 2021 because shreveport DID have a tornado last night, i live there so i can confrim we really did get a tornado. But this is definitely NOT footage from it because last night it touched down at 1 am lmao so idk why this video is bwing posted
@@jwalkrr I'm gonna say the poster of this vid is trying to get lots of views for a new tornado that they don't have any video of. So they edited the title for the older vid hoping to get monetized money.
As a hobby meteorologist, I don't think that this was an EF1 tornado. What I'm seeing here is a microburst
@@megansland8920 That's why it says 'hobby meteorologist', not 'meteorologist'. I'll continue to call myself that. And I also think that, after 7 years of analyzing data, publishing warnings, bulletins, forecasting storms more accurately than some gov't agencies, and so on, I am allowed to at least publish a UA-cam comment on what I think something is.
crazy weather

HEY THERE FROM ATLANTA TEXAS.
Hello 😉
I hate severe weather..I have memories of one ripping our home apart as a kid in Toronto Canada .
Warm wishes, internet stranger.
Not a tornado, but INSANE winds for sure! An EF0 is 65-85 mph wind (104-137 kph); EF1 as this is titled is 86-110 mph (138-177kph). Even with an EF0 there would be damage, that tree would have been gone!
That is INSANE! White out conditions filled with swirling debris!
Yes, it was very scary that day 👍🏾
@Big "D" Derk It's not a tornado. Your Roof Would've Gotten Severely Stripped. That Tree Would've Fallen Over. It's Straight Line Winds.
Microburst - Tornadoes have a sucking sound associated with them - something you'll never forget once you hear it. Nonetheless, microbursts or derechos can be very scary and overwhelming!
I don't know what's worse the microburst or the hail storm that falls thereafter. Destructive combination.
I'm thinking possible high end microburst. You would be getting your ass kicked for another few minutes by RFD if you took a direct hit like that.
We had an EF1 go by the house, about 1/2 mile away at one point, we were getting RFD for about ten minutes.
I would have been in basement!! Scary what you just seen!
I love tornadoes always looks like strong mist
Just letting you know, "extremely violent" is the opposite of an EF1 tornado. But hey, cool straightwinds nonetheless!
Yes i was in that same hurricain it waw in san atonio hurricain christina man she was really blow made a big mess in son Antonio
These happen during hurricanes also, so freakin scary
looks like a blizzard but melted...
That's freaking
stright line winds means more a downburst than tornmado
looks like central texas
Just mirco/cloud burst. If it was a EF-1 tornado, your roof could have been sevre damage. I mean tornado do have outer circulation where for example a well built house could have just a tad bit of damage but still.
I'm a NWS Storm Spotter for their SKYWARN program, and I doubt this is an EF1 tornado. Now yes, a wind event did occur on this day, but no tornadoes were reported at all.
Plenty of severe wind events were recorded around Louisiana on this date. In fact, all of Northern Louisiana is dotted blue on the report map.
I'm surprised all the trash cans were still standing
F1? That had to be right at the upper limit. Awesome footage...you are either brave and lucky or foolish and lucky...I cant say which for sure so my vote is brave and lucky
Lol!!! Thanks for the comment 👍🏾
It’s probably only categorized that way because the damage wasn’t too bad. It’s a shame that we rate based on damage when clearly it needs to be based on a larger amount of factors including windspeed.
OMG! You people cant be real. Wind folks, wind! Its no wonder our country is going to shit since people don’t even need to see what their told they are seeing to believe it.
@@theprinceofallsaiyans5830 you’re not trained to evaluate tornado damage lol. The weather service has a report on this EF-1 in Shreveport. It’s documented. It was a tornado.
@@theprinceofallsaiyans5830 not all people get hit with a direct funnel in a tornado nor does every tornado have a visible funnel. This could simple be a broad rotating area around a large rotating mesocyclone. Either way, it’s documented as a tornado so one touched down somewhere in the vicinity.
Ah, don't worry. It's just a microburst. One thing's for sure; you're lucky it's only sideswiped you. Chances are that the one you're looking for might be rain-wrapped. It's probably moved on by now.
Bless that little tree
That precipitation and RFD was damned impressive for an F1. Far too much condensing moisture to be held aloft, so decides to become a power-hose on steroids instead. That's quite a bit of kinetic energy hitting against structures.
Oh, and the window? Are you mad?
It’s just a microburst
@@h8vs229 Actually, looking at it again, it does look more like either a microburst or a derecho.
I live near Shreveport
Yeah shut the door and stand behind the glass window. 👌 You'll be safer behind the window than the door
It looked like a hurricane but not there all day long
Its like a fog or hurricane out there :0
Yes, that was from the hell that fell during the storm.

That's scary
Looks like a microburst. No indication at all of a tornado passing over.
Microburst not tornado
DISABLED.
The winds are visibly straight line and you can hear the hail hitting the windows, a common occurrence with MICROBURSTS. You need to learn what the difference between microbursts and tornados are. They get pretty easy to identify which is which after that.
Lance Lee I know there was a confirmed EF-1 in the area, but news flash, microbursts and tornadoes can come from the same storm. Very early on in the video I can see that the winds are straight line, if you don’t believe me you are brain dead. God I lost so many brains cells writing this.

So damage survey wise I’ve seen a lot of EF-1 this doesn’t look like it. *EF-1: 86-110mph* (3 sec. gust ) *EF-2: 111-135mph* on the EF scale estimates we go by. This structure I would classify as *FR-12* (Family Residence 1-5000sq.ft) The EF Scale Based on 3 second gust. Below I have listed some DI’s.
DoD: *Degree Of Damage* - DI: *Damage Indicator*
DoD: 1: Threshold Visible Damage:
Expected:65MPH - LowerB: 53MPH - UpperB: 80MPh
DOD#2: Broken glass windows/doors:
Expected: 96MPH - Lower Bound: 79MpH - Upper Bound: 114MPH
DOD #4: uplift of roof deck&loss of roof material; garage doors collapse inward; failure porch or carport: expected: 97mph - lowerb: 81mph - upper bound: 116mph
…
DOD#6: Large sections of roof structure removed/ Most walls remain standing:
Expected: 122Mph - Lower Bound: 104MPh - UPPER Bound: 142MPH
DoD #8: Most walls collapsed; except small interior rooms:
Expected: 152mph - Lower Bound: 127mph - upper bound: 178mph
DoD #10: TOTAL Destruction of engineered/well constructed residence; slab swept clean:
Expected: 200mph - Lower Bound: 165MPH - Upper Bound: 220MPH
It’s a little more complicated than just reading the numbers and saying. Oh I have broken glass so I must have been 81-116mph. But that’s the expected threshold and upper. Just wind based.
A derecho can easily have winds of EF-1 tornado.
straight Line winds.. but im so sorry for rude comments regarding what you thought was a tornado. people do not need to be mean
06/23/22,,👍🏼Good time to tell the Story of "The 3 Little Pigs" to Children just remind them wolves are like tornadoes.
Microburst, still scary though.
That’s just an F1? Damn.
Yes, that was a weak EF-1 tornado
@@Thunderstruck8493 Wrong, no tornadoes reported on that day.
Wrong there was a total of 4 weak short lived tornadoes reported that day, they're already in the NCDC Archives, guess you need to look deeper, or are you saying the NWS surveyors are inaccurate too.
All reports were preliminary as suspected tornadoes/ wind damage, became confirmed and finalized within 36 hours after the event, so don't wait 2 weeks to bullshit me. I'm not impressed by your apparent lack of information intelligence and personal intelligence.
@@Thunderstruck8493 If that were true then it'd be on the filtered reports from the Storm Prediction Center, and NWS Shreveport has no posts about a preliminary Tornado on the date of this video or any dates around it.

No tornado, there was no directional shift.....strong winds and hail though so there probably was one nearby.

Cue the “this isn’t a tornado” crowd. To those keyboard “experts”, tornadoes can often have broad rotation so the winds can look somewhat “straight” in a close angle shot like this. Additionally, if the viewer is in the outer bands, that can be even more prevalent. Instead of saying the video’s author is lying, maybe try asking if they have a storm report link to confirm instead of being a know-it-all who might not actually know much.
