It will be much nicer when you finish, and it'll be a load off of your mind and be a room you'll enjoy instead of feeling like it's a locker room. I'm glad you mentioned putting Kilz on it. I was thinking it, and then you said it..lol I've downsized slowly over the past years, sold my house, retired, and moved closer to family. Something I've always wanted, but I didn't realize how much those changes would affect me. So I'm working on making my place as homey as I can..on a budget..which means slowly..😄 but it gives me such a warm and cozy feeling when I get something the way I want it. It's a place I want to come to😊
Robin, it will be great when you get through it! You mind is great and it will be very nice when its done. It doesn't have to be glamorous just nice and clean!! I'm pulling for you dear!!
Good for you. We are your age and want to paint our master bedroom walls, not the trim, not the ceiling. It is not a huge room and has three doors and two windows. I am sure it would be hard to find a painter willing to do just that much so we will attempt it when we can have the windows open in the spring. Be sure you have good ventilation when you are working on this! Carole
I'm anxious to see how it looks. I personally would love to have a utility sink like that. Very handy in the basement. It's amazing what some elbow grease and paint can do
I remember when you re-did your kitchen and painted your cabinets. That was a big undertaking and it turned out great. This will too. If it were me I'd paint as far down as I could behind the washer and next to it vs moving it unless it's nasty back there. I was glad to hear you are going ti Kilz the wall..I was thinking it might need a stain blocker and/or something to prevent mold etc from coming through (not that I see any mold). I'd keep that sink too..as one commenter stated a gooseneck faucet would be nice. I have one on my kitchen sink and the spout pulls off and is a sprayer. Very handy when the sink has no hole for a sprayer and you want one.
Don't worry about moving the washer. It can just be your little secret! Ten years ago I easily moved my mammoth refrigerator out for cleaning and painting but for some reason, I can't budge it any more. So, I just painted the wall you could see. Even that wasn't easy because it's deeper than my arm so I just climbed up the ladder and laid over the top of it. No one will know until I die or the fridge goes out.
Hi Robin, I recently replaced my utility sink faucet. My old one looked just like yours. The new one has "wings" so much easier to turn on and off. Enjoy your videos ❤
I have a sink exactly like that in my basement in Portland Oregon, it was there when I first moved in 15 years ago. I don't like that sink at all, especially the faucets :( Somehow we love sharing clean up makeover jobs, I will be following.
You must have a good, solid washer from a time when appliances were well made. I have a new washer that's so lightweight (cheaply made) that I can push it myself.
You go girl! I also tackle one piece of the pie at a time! Can’t wait to watch the process and progress! Cheering you on! 👍🏻❤️

You are so kind. Thank you!
The sink is great to have. A gooseneck fixture and spray nozzle will help with "bucket" jobs etc. I love this project for us!❤
I use purex also. Take your time painting. Love listening to you.😊
Robin, a simple coat of paint will bring this room a new wonderful look! Slow and easy wins the race! 😊
👍
I love when a room gets a makeover ❤

I wish i lived nesr you. I would bring my nephews over to help you repaint, do ceiling, etc.
You might want to wash the wall with bleach water.looks like it might be mold
I know it'll be nice once you finish ❤
Thank you.
