This is probably the 1st and only "Kpop" group doing actual Hip Hop, and it actually feeling genuine and believable. Like.... The whole true Hip Hop scene is the complete opposite of Kpop, in the sense that it's NOT supposed to be polished, but REAL. You don't need to be the "Most talented Rapper" to come out with the most real delivery of what you gotta say. And Young Posse... Are kinda delivering. It's like they are naturally the way they are and their music just reflects it, instead of being highly trained to be perfect picture polished. I think it's nice and positive to have a group Like that in the Kpop industry.
Yeah perfectly said. Glad they don't talk about guns, sex, money and hood life though, that would be completely ingenuine and feel not believable. Probably helps that the members are creatively involved in their music since they debuted - almost in all of their songs the members are listed as writers, a few songs are pretty much written by themselves. They also credited in providing choreography - which is another crazy fact, that just shows crazy talented and well trained these girls are. This is NOT common in Kpop, especially for a group that debuted less than a year ago. A lot of groups have their songs written by other people and little to no creative input. Also - I wouldn't be surprised if the members actually enjoy and listen to a lot of Hip-Hop in their free time - it just feels too natural...
@@marcel1416 Yes, that's the Thing... Their Lyrics reflect literally their World, which is what Hip Hop is about. It doesn't matter where you came from, but it matters to express your Vision and what you do with what you have. Their Lines in "Loaded" for instance, saying "We just need a Chance and Time", still loading... or the disses in XXL, about how what makes you Big is to keep true to yourself and your artistry, and Not necessarily being the most comercially successful fake puppet. They basically Rap about issues they personally relate to, instead of going the Route about talking how hot and rich they are (which as rookies Just..... No?), and sooo many groups DO that... Even before actually earning the real Money. Lol... That's what Kpop does. And that's why I can't call most Idol group Rappers as Rappers... They may deliver the Lines and sound good sonically... But it's Just spit Out words with no actual realness or understanding. Like a talented politician spitting lies. True old school Hip Hop Fans, can definitely tell when artists who Rap have written their own stuff. We can feel genuinity and true passion. And that's Young Posse. To me, they aren't doing Kpop. They are doing KHipHop.
I would disagree. 1st Gen group 1TYM would be the first true hiphop group in the Korean industry. YG producer Teddy was the first member chosen for that group.
Ben Proulx has done all three of their title track MVs. He has done his own behind videos and reveals some of the information there. The big guy is called Mass of Man. He's something of a celebrity based mostly on his size and he's a friend of Ben. He and Token who featured in their Young Posse Up MV met the girls in New York when they appeared at the Head In The Clouds festival. Ben is the one who hooked them up with Token. The old lady is another friend of Ben. I don't remember her name, but she's in her nineties and gets a kick out of doing these cameos for the MVs. Bye the way, Ben and Jerry Shin are the guys on the stationary bikes in the XXL MV.
A LOT of people argue that XG is doing genuine hiphop but the thing is (that most people don't know) is that XG doesn't write most of their lyrics. Young Posse participates way more often in writing and their creative direction. That's what sets them apart from me - while both groups are GREAT at performing and I honestly love XG's discography, Young Possee writing their music gives them way more credibility in my book and comes across as more genuine. It doesn't feel like a caricature but rather a group of girls with genuine love for the art form that study and try their best to contribute to the genre and write their own music. I also have a special place in my heart for them because although a lot of the members are young, the company isn't unnecessarily sexualizing them or making them uncomfortable with inappropriate concepts. They are having fun, playing around, talking about their aspirations and excitement. A lot of knetz are into them (I'm on korean twitter and 'Ate That' has went viral more than a few times already) so I fully expect them to have a long and successful career. Most of the comments are talking about how fresh it is for a girl group to have that concept and applaud them for writing their own music so their future is very bright.
I regard YPS and XG as sort of different animals. XG is properly schooled in hip-hop and R&B, and I'd argue that their technical skill level is higher overall, but they're more focused on performance than self-production like YPS is and their style is different. I enjoy both groups for different reasons.
I honestly think the rappers in XG are the best in the game right now (I don't care if they're technically KPOP or not). I do agree the YPS girls should get the credit they deserve for contributing consistently to the lyrics. But after hearing Show You Can, I know Maya and Cocona can write well. I wish XGalX would let them more. That being said I love YPS, this song is fire
I agree 100% but keep in mind XG songs are all English. Only Maya is really at that level Now for the tapes series on YT yea they should start getting lyric credits. It’s the only piece missing for hip hop Honestly it did make me cringe when Cocona talked about being best rapper alive (before she dies) cause you cant be a real rapper if you don’t write your own bars Performer that raps sure but not a rapper
I always liked rappers with a unique sense of humor like MF DOOM ofc and Kool Keith, so I really love Youngpa. Also, I'm kinda new to kpop and choreo heavy performances and even to me it's obvious that Yeonjung is an amazing dancer among amazing dancers.
I don’t know if im stretching here.. but all I can think of is Marie the kitten from The Aristocats? Thats the only Marie I know that has anything to do with “purring”. Young Posse is so creative. Sunhye is a genius. A true mini Soyeon. She’s a rookie and had her hand in 3/4 tracks this EP. Writing for all but Umbrella. I love where these guys are going. If you know you know, right?
You're so right. Also, she not only does have an impeccable flow for rap already, but her singing voice is developing so so well. Even the acting in the videos.
💿 15:54 - Would you possibly think about _Still D.R.E_ from the fabulous _2001_ LP by Dr. Dre? 🎺 22:11 - the instrument you're hearing here actually is a trumpet that is played with a mute. 💚 Thanks a lot for reacting to this fantastic EP, RJ. I love seeing you smile when the tracks hit the right spot, this is so contagious!
always love your reactions! thanks for noticing lots of details in the mv - lots of other people missed so much and just felt like it was weird. i'm glad you got the vibe :) nobody does it like young posse!
Young Posee aside, I’m shocked that he never owned a copy of GTA! Do yourself a service and get the new one when it comes out. You won’t leave your house for days.
Really enjoy your reactions!really love YP and GTA concept! I'd like to share another new song with you "Booooooring" from babyMINT! The rapper is LinLin, a former member of Cherry Bullet." The concept is the Matrix, you will like it☺☺
XG =Not k-pop just J-pop Young posse = Real K-pop Because XG never sings in Korean. Apart from the artist's capabilities, it's the company's policy, so it's "Avex'

This girls are real creative and so talented!
I agree Sunhye reminds me of Soyeon from G i-dle, Sisters Lol 💯
You're so right. Also, she not only does have an impeccable flow for rap already, but her singing voice is developing so so well. Even the acting in the videos.

Btw, id love to see you react to KATSEYE.

This comeback is actually the last Food related one, so i think next we can actually expect them to do something different
3:42 you really just manifest it 😭😭🤣
Young Posee aside, I’m shocked that he never owned a copy of GTA! Do yourself a service and get the new one when it comes out. You won’t leave your house for days.
Loading is so good I can’t 😭
I think this MV is a million times more entertaining if you've played GTA. I can confidently recognise every single reference, it's amazing.
영파씨는 안무도 멋있고 라이브도 잘해서 라이브 영상이 더 좋음 🔥
Bananas beat switch is bananas 🍌 🔥
I loved how umbrella ended it.
THANK YOUU 👾👾👾
22:53 that was a muted trumpet not a saxophone. its so prettyyyy!!
Thanks for reacting to YP ❤❤❤
Really enjoy your reactions!really love YP and GTA concept!
I'd like to share another new song with you "Booooooring" from babyMINT!
The rapper is LinLin, a former member of Cherry Bullet." The concept is the Matrix, you will like it☺☺
its not "4"ps, its the symbol for Pi (3.14) cause it sounds like pie, which is a form of CAKE, which is the MV theme :v
isn't just YPS, instead of UPS, for Young Posse? where'd you hear the Pi thing?
Jieun, alt vokal mi? O yüzden mi az söyledi? Reaksiyon için teşekkürler...
LOL, in the GTA u have to do missions to complete the game 😉🙂
XG =Not k-pop just J-pop
Young posse = Real K-pop
Because XG never sings in Korean. Apart from the artist's capabilities, it's the company's policy, so it's "Avex'
Am I crazy for saying I always prefer jieuns pen game
The lyric videos seem to always confuse Jieun and Jiana's voices lmao
Can sm1 explain “purr like a Marie” I’m confused 😓
