"I'm A German, You Idiot." - Inglourious Basterds (2009) #shorts #inglouriousbasterds #movie
Inglourious Basterds is a 2009 war film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, starring Brad Pitt, Christoph Waltz, Michael Fassbender, Eli Roth, Diane Kruger, Daniel Brühl, Til Schweiger and Mélanie Laurent. The film tells an alternate history story of two plots to assassinate Nazi Germany's leadership-one planned by Shosanna Dreyfus, a young French Jewish cinema proprietor, and the other planned by the British but ultimately conducted solely by a team of Jewish American soldiers led by First Lieutenant Aldo Raine. Christoph Waltz co-stars as Hans Landa, an SS colonel in charge of tracking down Raine's group. The title was inspired by Italian director Enzo G. Castellari's 1978 Euro War film The Inglorious Bastards, though Tarantino's film is not a remake of it.

Not sure if you have watched the full movie but once the guy upstairs (Lt. Aldo Raine played by Brad Pitt) comes down, The German soldier is still holding the weapon and BP says its a mexican stand off cuz if you shoot the guys upstairs have grenades that they will toss down.
Lmao. What are you on about, lil bro? The Nazi had more chances of dying than the Americans. So The Nazi wasn't really with the most power and options. Because the so called options you gave literally applies to the Americans as well. Also I like how you just rephrased the option in C and D to make it look he got more options.
A. Not waste time until the reinforcements come in and hurry him to make a decision. (Which they pretty much did)
B. If he kills the bargaining chip, then obviously blast away.
C. & D. Lie to him and then go down and kill him.
So it wasn't really the Nazi who had more power and options. Even if he killed her, that loss would be way less effective to the Americans compared to the Nazi not being able to see his new born son grow up and little Max not having a father. Lmao.
In conclusion, that line was perfect for that moment because it is the other dude who is under more pressure.
A. They will not wait that long and will just toss grenades
B. Grenades and go home
C. Too hard when he's outnumbered probably 10 to 1 with half a magazine against much better equipped, rested and trained foes.
D. They will probably leave the majority behind for that scenario.
Willie is screwed either way, might as well let the girl go and hope for the best.
@@phillipsmith4473 I feel like you're grossly over underestimating the grounds of the battle. Based on the design of the room, and his cover that he has, he can literally counteract all of your counters. Not to mention you didn't exact take into consideration the biggest strategical advantage he has in this standoff: Bargaining chip.
@@spotsnspans5217 Dunno if they will go that far for the girl though.
Opening scene of this movie was the most gripping I've ever seen.
I know he’s fighting for the wrong side, but as a father myself, I still never could help but feel bad for the guy and his kid. It’s not like he was some SS officer or some concentration camp guard. Just a fucking kid, fighting a psychopaths war.
IT IS only a wrong side if you lost and at that moment in time according to the scene germany was holding its own.
More than likely was conscripted, much like the “German” soldiers shot at the beginning of Saving Private Ryan, who were in reality just Czech conscripts.
@@arnoldshmitt4969not really even If the side your on wins doesn’t mean history won’t view them as villains. Kind Leonidas lost but it’s considered to be a hero and xerxes the villain
@@captaindork3938 Xerxes won the battle but he lost the war.
Bad example.
thats the whole point of the film. every German soldier you see is honorable and just doing his duty. the film makes you root for the blood thirsty killers. thats the joke. you are the same as the Germans in the movie theatre laughing at all Americans being killed on screen.
the man sniper in the film just wanted to make movies. his only villainous action in the final moments of the film , to continute to justify the protagonist actions.
*”We haven’t named him yet but fine Max it is.”*
This scene shows Bridget was probably the savage character in the movie.
Brad Pitt was fantastic in this film. So many great performances.
What a great, heart warming scene of trust. I’m sure the man and woman let ol Willie leave to watch his baby grow up and didn’t shoot him when he put the gun down.
Lmaoo
Did you see the movie?

Well she was a jew. And a woman. Can't be trusted.

Throw grenade
Flash then grenade it works very well together, better if concussion grenade first because the shockwave can travel through certain levels of cover causing tinnitus which reduces hearing efficiency so they won't hear the next move which is when you throw a grenade
Thats why i like grenade lauchers
“A women’s oath I shall inscribe in water”.
Plus she was jewish
Then, moments later, the most intense Mexican stand-off happened 😂😂
They ended up killing him 💀
When the German speaks better than the southerner 😂
Huh?? What an autistic sentence lmao
for the southerners they have an accent just like brits and aussies
@@RealMakarovI know, I actually live near where he's from in the movie.
"Your entrails will become your extrails. PAIN, lots of PAIN."
- this guy in a different movie.
lol i never understood what he said in the line before that, something like "i will fotn you"😅😂
Spoiler alert little max did not in fact get to grow up playing catch with his dad…
Technically that’s a war crime if they shoot the German if he complied, but only during wartime does the Geneva convention become only a guide.
This movie is a masterpiece. All of Tarantino’s films are. I just wish Hugo Stiglitz didn’t die in this scene, but it is a risk he was taking. But the damn British guy gave them away. I loved when they introduced Stiglitz earlier in “the bear Jew” scene, especially with the rock n roll drums lol. I thought that was such a badass intro. The end scene of this movie is awesome too. Christoph waltz and Brad Pitt absolutely killed their roles. I love the line in this particular scene too. Pitt’s character Raines says “so he can grow up and play catch with his daddy.” It’s such an American thing to say to a German in WWII😂🇺🇸
Love how he Blasts the waitress right b4 this part 😂
One of my favorite Mexican Standoffs. Quentin Tarantino writes them so good!!
😂😂😂
well
As my great-grandfather was a “”German”” as in he was a Finnish volunteer who died fighting for the defence of Tallinn when the communists rolled over, I feel for this guy.
My family has traumas to this day about my granddads father dying before he was even a child with memories. And he was no nazi, just a soldier on the wrong side with the right beliefs.
Guy's name is Wilhelm and didn't go out the scream for namesake? Lawwwwd missed opportunity lol, but I still love ya Quentin, ya cheeky bastard you 😊
That’s the most reasonable man I’ve ever met
How can’t you feel bad for this nice good father who is just a man like everyone else
I do feel sad for him. Unfortunately because of the war and the situation they were in, it was: wrong place, wrong time
“Here! I am alive!” What a masterpiece of a dialogue that is…
I actually felt bad for the guy when I watched this movie because, 1 he was a new father and 2 he actually held up his end of the deal.
He could have just said, “or she can just crawl her bleeding ass up there and all of you fuck off”. They just really wanted to kill him 😅
what if she cant crawl?
Lol
It's not like Wilhelm wouldn't blow their cover if they let him go
@@symmetrymilton4542 that’s a great point
@@itzdupre7299then tough luck
Wilhelm's biggest mistake in this exchange was asking "Is the girl with you?" The moment Von Hammersmark's cover was blown, Wilhelm was a dead man walking.
He might've bit his tongue a little harder had he not been drinking 🥃
In like 2 seconds: Willy what’s with the machine gun?!
Still hating the woman for what she did later
Another reminder he trusted a member of the tribe or their slave and look what happened to him.
You skipped my favorite part in this scene!
When Aldo says "you speak English pretty good for a German" the soldier replies "I AGREE!!" 😨
"What choice you got, SON?" damn, what a strong but simple word and power play.
Especially coming from a staircase.
