Annual Steam Gala 2021
With trains running every 40 minutes and locomotive changes taking place at Barmouth Ferry throughout the day, a very enjoyable day was had at the Fairbourne Railway's 2021 Gala. The 12 1/4inch gauge saw a rare visiting steam locomotive in the form of No. 4 'Christopher' from the Littlehampton Miniature Railway (built by Exmoor Steam Railway), joining the home fleet of Russell (based on the Welsh Highland Railway Hunslet of the same name) and Sherpa (based on Darjeeling Himalaya Railway Class B Sharp Stewart locomotive).
The short stretch of 15 inch gauge line had visiting engines from Rhyl Miniature Railway and Windmill Farm Railway near Burscough. From WFR was 'Mountainter' and from Rhyl was 'Cagney'.
We also see tram engine 'Daisy' around Fairbourne station, this locomotive was also visiting from the LMR.
The final locomotive seen in action is Hunslet 'Gwril'.

Love it, we used to take our children on it, they are 40,37 and 34 now. So take the two grandchildren on. We managed to get our holiday last August. 😊😊😊
Very good :)
Strange place Fairbourne: always makes me think of a little bit of Kent or Canvey Island transplanted to North Wales!
I agree but it's a grand Railway, first rode on it 1974 last rode 2019, changed gauge in between of course!
A nice little event. The weather was certainly ideal for it, I like the track level shots I'm guessing you had 2 cameras on the go making the most of each spot you was at
Yep two camera set up, with second camera on a mini tripod for the low level shots
Le locomotive sono veramente stupende
I missed the gala, was at the Talyllyn instead, but at least I went here a couple of days later instead.
I love Toby (except it's not called Toby, it's called Daisy. My brain's getting confused)
Thought Mountaineer was from CCR Cleethorpes still? But good to Aussie engine from Tassie still running from bush mill
Think based windmill Farm now, was advertised as such and lots of people with wfr branded tshirts on footplate.
@@preservedrailway oh okay cheers didn't know it moved but glad it's still going cheers mate

its mainly 12 1/4 but there is a length of 15 inch gauge
