Actually it doesn’t matter whether documents regarding national security are declassified or not, they can never be anything but presidential and therefore belongs to the current administration. That is, Trump can never argue that they are his personal records. Just impossible. Also, let’s say he could actually declassify documents without any procedures and that any declassified document can be considered personal, how is that in any way okay?? Is someone who is reckless about sensitive information regarding national security and foreign affairs fit for office? Trump supporters seem to think so…

Baier handled this interview like a boss. It shows Trump's disorganized mental state, his grasping at non-existent straws to try to extricate himself from 37 felony counts, all the while further implicating himself in the crime. Amazing.

Remember that before the search warrant his defense was "I have no documents", then it went to "I can declassify anything just by the power of thought", then he tried blaming his lawyers (that one failed because there is evidence of trump ordering boxes being removed and set into hiding spots unknown to his lawyers), now he got to "I couldn't return them because the whole thing was a mess with personal items all over"
100% correct. He may have planned on selling them, to use them to intimidate, blackmail people our government. We'll never know. The fact is he had no LEGAL good reason to hold onto them and refused to give them back. He deserves everything that's coming to him. Which should be prison.

Kudos to Bret for keeping it honest (as much as he could) in this interview. Trump speaks like a child. Republicans have a lot more options out there and it sounds like the tides are turning.
Trump strategy is to confuse, cover the interviewer with word salads to muck things up. That might work on TV but not in a court-of-law. And, his lawyers won't allow him to testify anyway, so his crazy narratives will never see the light of day as far as the jury.
