Wow... I only just arrived here... because I was looking for Robert Henri, BIG THANK YOU. I look forward to seeing more inspiring videos of yours... meanwhile I will enjoy your 156 other videos. Much love. 🌷🌷🌷
We will all miss your podcasts, Carl! I learned SO MUCH from you and your guest artists. However, I'm sure we ALL understand the necessity of putting aside the things that keep us from pursuing our dreams, no matter how much we also love those other things. Thank you for all your entertaining and informative podcasts over the years, and best wishes for you and Shirley on this new chapter in your lives.
Thanks Carl and all the very best to you and your wife and family for the future. I will continue to follow you on your website and Instagram. Love your work! To paint 👍🏻😃 Cerena
I'm in tears, happy tears...I've lost count of how many times I've gone thru all 72. And im not even close to being done. Thank you so much Carl, now stop reading this and go paint!
Hi Carl, good luck to you in the future and I look forward to seeing your plein air paintings again. Many people tend to over think plein air and get stressed about it, but fishermen have the right idea - just get out there and some days you'll catch fish, some days you won't, but either way you'll be reconnecting with nature and just enjoying the time spent there. Frank.
Carl, thank you so much for all the work you put in to bring us The Artful Painter. I will now go back and listen again from the beginning and revisit the inspiration you have brought to the art world. Then I'll download your books and listen to those. My sincere condolences to you and your wife for the loss of her sister. May your new life in Colorado be everything you hoped for and may you get back to your real love, artful painting.
Hi Carl- Thank you for all you have done! I am so sorry for the loss of your sister-in-law. May the Lord be near you and your wife during this time of loss. I also wanted to say - way to go- to your granddaughter! She's a natural! Thank you for the example of prioritizing your time. Only 1 thing is needed, right? Psalm 27 - "One thing will I seek..." At the end of the day, that's all that counts. I hope to meet you and your wife some day- maybe at the Booth!
My heart aches for you listening to and watching your visible angst over your quandary. Your podcasts were the best on the whole internet. I take heart in the fact I have your recorded work to listen to over-and-over. Your style is special and endearing for the technical media and your expression of the love of painting and other artists. The siren lured you into her clutches and has provided to you a new muse - Colorado. Go forth without angst and drink your coffee in anticipation of doing what you know you must do. Regardless of where you are my spirit will be with you Carl. Thanking you a million times can not fully express how grateful I am for the "Artful Painter." Paint until bristles fall out, and then buy more brushes!
Carl, the podcast will be greatly missed! I look forward anything you might post on your channel though. It would be great to see your painting adventures! Good luck on your future endeavors and enjoy your new home!
Your beautiful podcast got me through some tough times. You really set the standard for how to do an amazing production! I'm very happy you are going to paint and enjoy Colorado! God bless!
Carl, thank you for sharing this with us, you're a very special individual and have bought a lot of joy and knowledge to so many people with your podcasts. Enjoy living closer to your daughter and be sure to hold your family close and be happy moving forward my friend. I hope to visit you one day and paint that Colorado landscape with you and maybe even paint those roses in your garden. All the best.
I am glad you’ll be posting stuff even though not doing the podcast. I’m proud of the good job you did raising those kids. My daughter has great neighbors. I’ve been here in Cartersville for 24 years and I’ve still not made it to the Booth museum. I should go. We got a car museum now too. Hope to get out to Colorado again. Loved my trip there and I totally understand the move. It is sad to leave a home you’ve been in for so long. But you’ll have and already have great memories in your new home. I’m not riding my bike from here to there though
Good to hear from you, bro! You and your dear wife are always welcome to visit out here. I don’t blame you about bicycling out here though 🤠. But we do have many bike trails in town and the surrounding area once you get out here. I think I’ll have to dust off my old mountain bike now that you’ve mentioned it. Love to your family! By the way you have a number of fans out here.
It's been a rough couple of years for you. I'm sorry to hear that, and sorry for your loss. I'm glad things are finally starting to settle. I just moved to the midwest, after living in Colorado for 40 years, to be near grandkids. I didn't want to miss seeing them grow up, but I dearly miss Colorado. I hope you'll be able to post many of your painting adventures in Colorado so I can return home vicariously through those videos.🙂 Wishing you the best, and thanks for the podcast.
I sure have enjoyed your efforts so much! Equally, I’ve enjoyed your optimism toward life in the shadow of hard times. Your decision to focus on painting is a good one. My mentor Paco Young told me it’s hard to become an electrician when you work as a plumber every day. You are on your way and it will be a beautiful and amazing journey. Good luck.
Carl, I recently found out about your podcasts and have really enjoyed your stellar talent doing these podcasts. Definitely welcome to Colorado; I live in Fort Collins and Colorado is a beautiful place, especially in your area of Montrose. Hopefully you will be at the Estes Park Plein Air Show later this year, I know Kami will be there as well. Cheers.
It’s been a while since I’ve been to Ft. Collins. I’m definitely going to have visit the Front Range more now that we are settling in. Thank you for your kind comment.
I too have missed The Artful Painter podcasts. I wondered also about when it would come back after your move to Colorado. I’m so sorry for all you’ve been through . Prayers and blessings to both you & your beautiful wife as you move forward in beautiful Colorado. Passing on the love of painting to your granddaughter is priceless! She did a wonderful job! I’ll look for your painting adventures in the future. Sincerely a fellow Georgia painter. Thank you for sharing your heart once again so eloquently.
Hey Carl, I just discovered your content. Starting with your sincere share about the current status. It's great that you act aligned with your soul. Your signature is present more than ever in the available content and I'm glad I can learn for your legacy! Best regards.
Thank you Carl for all the hours of great conversation I have enjoyed. You have become one of my favorite podcasts while I’m at the easel and hate to see it end. And I’ve learned so much but more Han anything I have learned that no matter how experienced we are at painting. We all share a lot of the same hang ups and anxieties about our craft. Thanks again and my condolences to you and your family.
Such a serendipitous thing to happen. Carl I don’t know your podcast nor your name or face but I came home tonight & found I was somehow subscribed to your channel. I am sad to hear your story. I looked after my mother until she passed dying , from bone cancer. I spent years bringing up family & taking care of my business. A few years back I’d had enough of it all & city life. I sold up & moved to the country to 100 acres & a home & workshop on a river front. Both were in dire need of renovation. My goal was to get back to the loves of my youth one of which is painting. After 2.5 years of hard work I have finally started to lift the paintbrush again In My 30x32 ft studio. Things keep interfering. Your story though so sad has inspired me to just drop everything & paint. I’m 70 now. Not so much time left. So thank you for being so open & sharing. God works in mysterious ways doesn’t he. I will stay subscribed, enjoy your channel & look forward to any future postings you might choose to share.
Thanks for all your efforts in this endeavor!!! They are truly appreciated. I loved all the episodes and will continue to revisit them. Wishing you all the best. Enjoy the mountains!!! Cheers!! Bryan from Pittsburgh. :)
Hi, Carl. That is a nice update. What about not doing that quality style interview podcast and just do a mindshift to a new chapter, something new. How about an easy iphone shot-over-the-shoulder of your painting ventures in Colorado. Wouldn't that be more liberating? You remove the pressure of the high standard interviews you set, but you don't lose contact with your followers, and you start a new light-footed over the shoulder venture of you painting and your grandkids maybe painting or hiking with you, or hanging out in the loft, and just make a new chapter, new season. A lot of artists go through life changes, life hits, and have a hard time re-tapping into their creative outlet. Life is real and sometimes it is hard. Hard sometimes suck the art out of you, out of all of us, but you still need that in your spirit. So consider it, pray about it, think about getting giddy about doing a new, less-responsible, less-obligated OTS peek into your progress and plein air and studio ventures. Regardless, I wish you all the best, Tasha Kidd P.S. Make sure you have good ventilation oubound in your new attic/loft studio.
Carl, I enjoyed every episode. Thank you for all your hard work and professionalism. Go enjoy painting!!! ❤
Thank you! And I will! I appreciate the encouragement.

You’re so kind! Thank you!

I like the fishing analogy!
