Next to Luther, there is Alex. His debut album in 1985 stayed on my turntable that Summer. I still have that album and all of his others that came after. Alex was originally a part of the Prince crew and then went solo.🤗🤗🤗🔥🔥🔥
Little known fact: Alexander O’Neal was the lead singer of the Tyme which Prince formed but before they became famous Prince and Alexander O’Neal got into an argument and Prince kicked him out of the group and brought in his cousin Morris Day
Alexander wanted Prince to pay him up front and Prince told him no he had to work for it like he did and Alexander didn’t like that…so prince told him he couldn’t be in the Group anymore 🤷🏾♂️
@@Trac489 Yep, I’m ok; it’s been a busy year with extra life stuff that’s been taking a lot of time in addition to work, etc., but my family is all good and there are fun high spots here and there, so I can’t complain. Are you and Rob (forgive me if I am wrong on the name) still going strong?
O'Neal came to prominence in the mid-1980s as a solo artist, with eleven Top 40 singles on the US R&B chart, three of which also reached the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. However, he enjoyed more mainstream success in the United Kingdom, achieving fourteen Top 40 singles on the UK Singles Chart between 1985 and 1996, along with three top ten albums on the UK Albums Chart. His solo singles, sometimes dealing with lost love, include "If You Were Here Tonight", "Fake", "Criticize", "The Lovers", "(What Can I Say) To Make You Love Me", "All True Man", "Love Makes No Sense" and "In the Middle". He is also known for duets with Tabu labelmate Cherrelle such as "Saturday Love" and "Never Knew Love Like This". AllMusic described O'Neal as having a "tough voice [that] has the same grain and range as that of Otis Redding."[1
Every now and then I think about how Prince. Let go of Alex, Jam, and Lewis. And I thank God. Cuz it was all in the plan. Think about what we'd be missing?
Damn this is one of those old school songs you would put on your setting the mood mixtape you would have popped in when you had a girl coming over lol 😂❤❤ ❤ I really enjoy watching your videos because you don't discriminate against any genre or type of music and I have now been introduced to people and songs I never would have otherwise ever heard!! Also can't believe I'm the first one to comment!!
You ain’t kidding young G, it took me to about 45 and I’m 50, No begging or pleading like in the romantic comedies, in real life when will drop yo ass in a minute Simpin, or stay gone longer like you said, if a chick break up with me or stay gone I’m tell her keep her as gone of fate bring us back together that’s on fate but I’m no lt begging or trying to change your mind, there is plenty fish in the sea for males and females, keep ‘em coming young G, you should do that bomb first with 2 pac, I just saw your hell razor, that shit used to give me goosebumps back in the day when I was a young G like you 👊
BY the way the INSTRUMENTAL REMIX VERSION of this track with a GREEN filtered tinged photo of the man himself on the Alexander O'neal Official UA-cam Channel is a super relaxing COMFORT to listen to only dissapointment it's alittle SHORT.
That's some baby-makin music right THERE! They don't make em like that anymore. Phew, makes me come over all unnecessary 🙃 Hearsay is one of my fave albums of all time.
This is one of the greatest songs on earth.....HANDS DOWN!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
I saw him live! It was amazing! Best song ever!!✌️💞

One of his best decisions next to Jimmy and Terry leaving…and then later Jimmy and Terry working with new edition ❤❤❤❤

Go head on down the rabbit hole kiddo. Prince created an amazing musical family. Sheila E. The Time, Al O’Neal, Jamm and Lewis…

Where has he been in a bubble? No radio stations Grand parents, great Aunts or Uncles?
This came out the same week I split with the only woman I ever loved.
lol got nobody else 😂
As much as I respected prince as genius entertainer, I can’t prove it, but I think he also was jealous of Alexander O’Neal, jealous of his talent.
