Did a quick and very basic strip down of the Bates Hundo reel . As i suspected , all looks to be top class and it has been built right ....no doubt at all
While I’ve only taken mine out once for a small afternoon session, I must say, I am truly impressed by this reel! For a reel that comes in at only 5oz, it is remarkable and capable. The size suggests that it would be more of a finesse type reel but this thing can handle anything you throw at it! Bates really hit the nail on the head with attention to detail! It won’t be for everyone and some may not see the value in it but it’s something that those of us who appreciate high quality workmanship will make great use of and find a lot of enjoyment using! Lower ratios not available either. At that price, should be perfect. But, you mentioned an outgoing click on the drag? That is feature I look for, nice to have that if you’re into more finesse fishing especially.
