Nothing more moving than hearing the bit at 1:00 while you're being boosted up to the top of the level, out of the water, and back down again. So majestic. One of the best OST's I've ever heard.
I am so glad there are others like me! I have been obsessed with this song since 93 and still consider some of the best game music ever made. It was the first time music from a game really impacted me.
Hearing this amazing, atmospheric soundtrack makes me really regret never experiencing this game as a kid, when my older brother had a Sega CD. The Sega CD is often dismissed as a "failed" Sega project, but it did some great innovative things like including professional quality soundtracks like this.
The most phenomenally amazing piece of music that has ever been composed. Spencer Nilsen should be admitted to godhood for this piece alone. The absolute most moving piece of music I have ever heard in my life.
I don't know, I think it fits. The first time I heard the track I nicknamed it "The Singers' Lamentations" - the mournful whale voices at the beginning make me think of the dolphins calling for their lost podmades.
Both versions of the Vents are incredible. Each are completely different songs. I'm newer to the Sega CD version and it's sounding incredible. The genesis version is so unbelievably good. If you haven't heard that version of The Vents definitely go check it out
@Stinkfist182 I used to listen this track when I was 12-13, when I discovered that putting the game in the CD player, it played almost all the tracks from the game...I wish the CD had the track from the movie in the beginning, when Ecco is swimming with its pod friends.
I'm actually playing the megadrive version of this game and happen to be on the vents level, although good the megadrive one sounds basically like a fairly standard pattering of the usual sort of megadrive background music and doesnt really project much to the listener but this version (which i first heard on the pc) is so much better, it give the vents a feeling of scope and you get the feeling that its actually quite lonely down there, also a hint of the sadness of the dolphins trapped there
Spiderman no way home was released close to sonic 3's release december 15th close to sonic 3's release date , the no way home trailer released on August 23rd and the second one released on November 16th, take this with a grain of salt, i'm no leaker.what i can say is , dont expect the sonic 3 trailer to arrive anytime soon.

Stardust Crusaders' Last Train Home vibes ♥ Nostalgic and Powerful. It's like this melody attacks something within you, and you don't know what or where is it.

Spencer Nilsen if you are reading this, you have created a fantastic magical journey with this soundtrack that not even the time can erase!
Timeless but never lost in the tides of time thanks to UA-cam.
how has life been for you chango?

Se siente especial
I've been listening to a lot of old videogame soundtracks lately - somehow 20 years later I remembered to search for "ecco cd the vents."
It's so cool how the dolphin cries are incorporated in the song. In understanding the game's plot, it makes it all the more immersive.
There's something really powerful in this song. It gets my eyes wet everytime
Memory comes back great music i love it we all love Ecco the Dolphin
Old man reporting in! I remember listening to this and having this whole melodrama in my head about how the whale was stuck under the ice. Gorgeous.
Man, when i listen this music i remember of my youth...this always was my favorite track =)
This tune haunted me as a kid. Fucking beautiful.
its been 14 years. hows life now?
I think heaven could sound like that perfectly
I have this game and The Vents level have another song also beautiful.
Never played this, and first time I come across this music. It is awesome. Why don't they make music like this in games today????
Have you heard the Ark theme?.
They do, you’re just not looking for it
@@Albino_Basilisk i feel like most people who comment stuff like this don't look for stuff like what they're looking for
This song alone made me infatuated with ocean sea life, i'm 33 and still think of this song every time I visit the ocean.
one of the most beautiful tracks i've ever heard. those tiny bells at 2:48. so sweet and isolating.
this is the best song from the game! i love this track since i was 6 or 7! today i am 22! so many memories... thank you very much!
Something about this track. Just amazing.
wow! This brings back memories. "Q-Sound" FTW!!!
The only thing too powerful about this track is the hhnnggggggg I feel from listening to it. me gusta since 1993.

heard this from radio sega, fell in love immediately!

I love this song so much. It's like listening to dolphin song.
If I've had a really bad day this is my go to calm me down. This is also one of the tracks that I use for yoga. Pretty Awesome. It holds up well.
Is like being in a palace on the midle of the ocean. Amazing
I tripped on mushrooms to this song. The end.
I should try that sometime.
@@FireMinstrel Magic mushrooms are now decriminalized in Oakland and Denver so doing so will now be easier.
@@elevenvolt1 Not even close to where I live, but it still gives me hope, so thanks.
Meh...
I don't know why, but this theme makes me feel sad...
At contrary, it inspire me. But knowing the lore of the game, i get you...
Great Soundtrack to listen to before swimming
its like John Williams with a splash of Vangelis. This is right up there with I-war2, Timesplitters 2 , and this first Mirrors Edge OST's

Essa música me causa arrepios!
When it comes to Underwater videogame music everyone is praising DKC's Aquatic Ambience, but this music is so much superior.
DKC is overrated...
Just a brilliant piece of music

Think on these Spencer Nilsen work and then do a reverence.
I thought this was the ice zone music?
sonic AND tails fan 157394 It might be, the Sega CD version doesn’t have a dedicated Ice Zone theme so it must reuse one, possibly this track.
"The Vents"
Sussiest name for a soundtrack ever

I was13 when this came out and use to play this on headphones
Same here when I figured out you could just put the game in your cd player. 😊
this is great but i’m partial to sega genesis the vents music.
Where can I obtain this soundtrack?

the music """Lana Del rey - Blue jeans"""
At the begining its like this music.

To think Spencer Nilsen was capable of making synthpop-rock and this...
@Stinkfist182 Same here :)

I still prefer the old "the vents" soundtrack. The genesis one.
