Mission 8: Saving Private Smith
Difficulty: Very Hard
Importance of stripping the soldiers:
Shooting at the stripped soldiers will not deduct the stars from 'neutralized enemies without killing / shooting', while shooting the unstripped soldiers presented at the beginning of the mission will. - Ігри

=> The whole squad got caught 5 mins later. Except Thief. Iam like "well shit..."

Childhood
Around 2000 this was the only game in my family's computer, and there was only one mission which was saving private smith (maybe it's only a demo or just a pirate), my father was really into this but just unable to finish it, then my cousin who was really a game guy came and made it. I still remember the words from my dad in amazement: Wow he can climb the electric pole? Wow he can hide in the box? (because there was no training session so he didn't know that)
Then I entered college in 2013 and download the full game in my PC and went through all the missions. And for my dad, I downloaded the game on his PC as well, he was soooo happy and so devoted which even annoyed my mom a bit because he played all the time.
Best game in my life forever. Respect from China.
The soundtrack for this level is soo freaking good it brings a tear from my eye

It's almost like a 4th wall break. They tried to do the mission without players control and got captured. I love this Part.

@airamcena I first played this game when I was 12. Actually you can buy from amazon at a very low price, getting all 4 series of commandos (though I think Commandos 2 is the best so far). Thanks for your praise :)
I never knew you could climb the wooded beam to the green beret. I did it using the sapper.

i have never thought that i could go up to where exactly is green beret being held,i have finish this mission nice but not as great as what i have seen here,so PRO
Is that wide-screen? how did you managed that?! got the game the othar day on special from steam but cant get it to work in wide-screen :/
Does anybody made use of wires?
I'm struggling very very hard. Once i got to sapper easily by wires, but from one momoent they always see lupin and green beret.
I've used the wirecutters to cut the wires on top of the bridge and near your starting point so that I can get into the plane, pay attention to the enemy sniper's FOV. I'd suggest to distract him using Spike (Lupin's mouse)

when I played the demo this was the demo mission when they got caught a few secs after I went like I KNOW SHUT UP
I didn't know you could get inside the airplane.
the hard way is to make the thief crossing the fence and diving in the river, then enter to the plane and, after you have kill the 2 idiots inside, get the gun, shotgun and sub, leave the plane, move to recue green beret and full action.
At 6:10 I have no chance to pass, until I go down to open the door I'm dead!
where is the mine detector?

Cuz they wont resume patroling once they're discovered and untied, they just run off and are no longer a threat.

i mean - this mod is too much for an average player. It looks like a great achievement despite the exploit just before the invasion.
however i tried so many Times and my ratings are bizarre. what mod/version did you play int this walkthrough?

cuz he is wearing a german uniform, if you are on the dark green side they wont spot you no matter the commando you are using

its because of the uniform, it makes you invisible for enemies but FAR sight only
He wore uniform there. When you wear an enemy uniform they can't recognize you at the dark green area of their sight.
