  • We had to have a way to wash our hands. Creek water is better than no water. The first pump worked but not like I wanted. So we ordered this new one and it worked great.

    It's more fun to watch someone that is learning for the first time, than the experts that make everything look easy and have very deep pockets! Loving your channel So far, many thanks from the UK👍 👍

    My husband and I purchased my grandparents old homestead in the Smokies of NC...we are utilizing the spring that was there for our water. We put in a tank and the spring feeds into it then it’s gravity fed to the cabin. We had the water tested...all good. It’s supplying all our water needs and it’s amazingly cold all year long. We are in year 2 of our renovation and it’s a lot! Hang in there....every day do a little more and before you know it you will have something very special! Cameras great! Blessings🙏🏻💖

      I’m hoping to do something similar with ours. Our spring is downhill from the cabin unfortunately, I’m thinking of a water tank near the creek to feed it with water and the overflow will go back downstream. We will put a pump in the tank and pipe it to the cabin. I hope it goes like I got it in my head.

    With moving water right next to the cabin, I think you ought to look into micro hydrophower to keep batteries charged up. Remember that stream runs 24/7 constantly keeping those batteries charged so you need less battery capacity. I would suggest starting with an inexpensive DC centrifugal pump with a long pipe attached to the outlet of the pump at least 2 inches in diameter. The larger diameter the better, but I don't think you need to go over 6 inches. The solar and wind people are envious of the hydropower people.
    I also agree with those suggesting an inexpensive homemade rampump. Land to house, here on youtube has a good tutorial on that.

    Mission accomplished,great job!!
    As an electrician here never cut a plug off an extension cord if you don’t have to.Lowes sells male/female 🔌 plugs,when your there next time pick up a few of each since you may need for other spots.The sum-pump just needed a male plug end connection..however I digress,nice job otherwise.
    I don’t wanna come off seeming critical,it’s just food for thought.😉👍

    FYI you could put a water tank on top of high ground above the cabin and gravity feed the cabin and garden
    with water also you could collect the water as close to the spring as possible less chance of contamination from wild animals .and if you are lucky the spring is on higher ground than tank you could gravity feed to the tank and over flow back to creek .good luck with your new house and property

    Brother - fill a higher tank so you can pressure feed down to the sink. Typically a 12 volt pump would be more for RV's and not strong enough to push water 100 feet uphill

    You can create your own shrinkwrap tape by using clear plastic soda bottles :) There are youtube videos showing how to make a simple tool to create a single strand from a bottle in whatever width you want.

    What you need is a ram pump for pumping up hill,with a filter on it. I been telling them people that I did not want the warnetry for years now and they still say it is running out of service. If you built a little dam with a ram pump, it will push the water up the slow hill you have , without power. Look it up on UA-cam. Put a screen over the top of the bucket and around the outside to keep bugs and trash out. Put a large rock in the bucket, to hold it down. With a dam, it would that way have a reserve supply of water build up for the pump.

    I like the Windmill and Water Wheel idea.
    That spring water is ice cold, should have brought a shovel to dig a deeper hole for the pump bucket to be submerged.
    What horsepower is that pump?
    We have an instant hot water tank that runs on propane, but I know they make an electric instant hot water tank that could be ran by your Solar. Mount it under your sink.
    Y'all have a blessed day.

    The pump that you are planning to use for the garden has got to be primed 24/7 that means that you have to get the water to the pump or else it will not work I live in a camper every time I get a air pocket I lose Prime

    • @fallingstarranch9633
      @fallingstarranch9633  3 роки тому +1

      Because it’s on dc 12v power. If it was ac 110v power I would’ve put it into the inverter with the ground.

    I do not understand cutting the plugs connection is never as good as plugging together band sealing them together. poor idea cutting put a couple of stones in the bucket help hold it down in the water.

    • @fallingstarranch9633
      @fallingstarranch9633  3 роки тому +2

      The pump works on dc power. The wire I needed from Lowe’s for it was $75. I thought the electric cord would work as it was $16/100ft. I cut the ends because it wasn’t going to be used as ac power. If I were using ac I would’ve left them on and plugged straight to the inverter. Instead I wired it to the dc side and used the 12v power. I didn’t want to cut them but I was on a budget this week and had to improvise.
