- We had to have a way to wash our hands. Creek water is better than no water. The first pump worked but not like I wanted. So we ordered this new one and it worked great.
It's more fun to watch someone that is learning for the first time, than the experts that make everything look easy and have very deep pockets! Loving your channel So far, many thanks from the UK👍 👍
My husband and I purchased my grandparents old homestead in the Smokies of NC...we are utilizing the spring that was there for our water. We put in a tank and the spring feeds into it then it’s gravity fed to the cabin. We had the water tested...all good. It’s supplying all our water needs and it’s amazingly cold all year long. We are in year 2 of our renovation and it’s a lot! Hang in there....every day do a little more and before you know it you will have something very special! Cameras great! Blessings🙏🏻💖
I’m hoping to do something similar with ours. Our spring is downhill from the cabin unfortunately, I’m thinking of a water tank near the creek to feed it with water and the overflow will go back downstream. We will put a pump in the tank and pipe it to the cabin. I hope it goes like I got it in my head.
@@fallingstarranch9633 lol I hope so too! Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Oh my, peacock neighbors? Loud birds! Like sound of your creek better! I live w.no water, get jugs. Not easy at 65. Love your property! Best to you!👍
Just found you guys yeasty. I'm looking forward to seeing your dreams come to fruition. Have fun. Also love how you were showing your little brother how to do stuff. Keep on smiling.
With moving water right next to the cabin, I think you ought to look into micro hydrophower to keep batteries charged up. Remember that stream runs 24/7 constantly keeping those batteries charged so you need less battery capacity. I would suggest starting with an inexpensive DC centrifugal pump with a long pipe attached to the outlet of the pump at least 2 inches in diameter. The larger diameter the better, but I don't think you need to go over 6 inches. The solar and wind people are envious of the hydropower people.
I also agree with those suggesting an inexpensive homemade rampump. Land to house, here on youtube has a good tutorial on that.
Glad I found y’all. Looking forward to watching everything you do on building and working on the house and the land and the garden. It takes time to get everything going just right as far as the videos. but good job, video looking good. And. Yay!!!!! Water. 🤩🤩🤩. Good job. And I love your shirt too. Made strong by the Almighty. Psalms 18:32. ❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻. God bless you and your family as you go on this journey.
Glad to see y’all got the water going! I do think the camera looked clearer! I think y’all are doing a wonderful job! You really have the perfect place! It reminds me of stories my Grandmaw would tell me about old home places! Looking forward to see what comes next! Thank you for sharing! 😊
Hello
it works! Awesome Job! I had no doubt... I use to watch my grandpa do that stuff....your video was pretty good...no worries..you keep doing what you do...it’s all good! Sending love to you all....
God Bless you for saving part of history.
Mission accomplished,great job!!
As an electrician here never cut a plug off an extension cord if you don’t have to.Lowes sells male/female 🔌 plugs, when your there next time pick up a few of each since you may need for other spots. The sum-pump just needed a male plug end connection..however I digress, nice job otherwise.
I don’t wanna come off seeming critical,it’s just food for thought.😉👍
Going to grow and learn from you'al. New to channel.Glad I found you. Your Ranch is coming to life!
Love your videos..videos are good quality..can't wait as time goes your place going to be sweet!
Raising my hand for a BLT please. :) Looking forward to journey along with y'all as you develop your property. Thank you for sharing and taking us along.
what is funny win they all an say your car warranty is about to expire and you driving a old car or truck . what i do i ask them what car is the warranty is about to expire well they don`t no lol i tell them what year of car i drive they hang up on me lol Thanks for the video
FYI you could put a water tank on top of high ground above the cabin and gravity feed the cabin and garden
with water also you could collect the water as close to the spring as possible less chance of contamination from wild animals .and if you are lucky the spring is on higher ground than tank you could gravity feed to the tank and over flow back to creek .good luck with your new house and property
I love the sounds of peacocks. You got to enjoy those beautiful sounds or it's going to drive you crazy... LoL 😂😆😂😆
I’m learning thru you. Thanks so much
From the way y'all talk I knew you were local. We live in Granite Falls. Good luck with all your projects. Not here to give advice, just to learn. LOL
Brother - fill a higher tank so you can pressure feed down to the sink. Typically a 12 volt pump would be more for RV's and not strong enough to push water 100 feet uphill
You can create your own shrinkwrap tape by using clear plastic soda bottles :) There are youtube videos showing how to make a simple tool to create a single strand from a bottle in whatever width you want.
Hello 👋 how are you doing today
What you need is a ram pump for pumping up hill, with a filter on it. I been telling them people that I did not want the warnetry for years now and they still say it is running out of service. If you built a little dam with a ram pump, it will push the water up the slow hill you have , without power. Look it up on UA-cam. Put a screen over the top of the bucket and around the outside to keep bugs and trash out. Put a large rock in the bucket, to hold it down. With a dam, it would that way have a reserve supply of water build up for the pump.
What I the only one to think he was gonna impale himself while drilling that bucket? Dang man that was as scary as using a sharp knife to cut towards yourself lol.
That’s why I moved it to the ground. My mind told me after the first couple holes ‘this isn’t too safe.’ Lol.
Good job on getting water running
Interesting. Look forward to the next video
Your channel is going to grow..!
Picture looks good
Another awesome video!
Water water water it was my down fall on my land at first.
How did you get it later on?
I like the Windmill and Water Wheel idea.
That spring water is ice cold, should have brought a shovel to dig a deeper hole for the pump bucket to be submerged.
What horsepower is that pump?
We have an instant hot water tank that runs on propane, but I know they make an electric instant hot water tank that could be ran by your Solar. Mount it under your sink.
Y'all have a blessed day.
great videos, can’t wait for more
Hello 👋 how are you doing today
Ty for letting me know
use the green for ground and use white and black together for hot . carry more load that way. thats a long run..
I didn’t think of that. I should have done that.
You and your Dad need rubber boots. They will allow you to go in the mud, water, and help protect you from snake bites.
We will get some this coming weekend. Because I’m not fond of snakes.
The pump that you are planning to use for the garden has got to be primed 24/7 that means that you have to get the water to the pump or else it will not work I live in a camper every time I get a air pocket I lose Prime
Video is fine
Hi. Love your channel. Is the creek year round?
Well done 👍 good video
BRILLIANT Absolutely BRILLIANT :)
I saw where you made homemade mayonnaise hàve you thought about making homemade butter..viewers might enjoy
My neighbor has peacocks and they are loud, they will eat your garden up, and poop on your cars...you have to keep running them off...they are beautiful but destructive..
Yes they are. I hope they don’t get in my future garden.
Why didn't you connect your green ground wire ?
Because it’s on dc 12v power. If it was ac 110v power I would’ve put it into the inverter with the ground.
Yes! Car warranty expired ! Lol! I have old car! Or,"reduce my mortgage"! I own my home!!
Hi. Is your creek year round?
Yes it is.
I do not understand cutting the plugs connection is never as good as plugging together band sealing them together. poor idea cutting put a couple of stones in the bucket help hold it down in the water.
The pump works on dc power. The wire I needed from Lowe’s for it was $75. I thought the electric cord would work as it was $16/100ft. I cut the ends because it wasn’t going to be used as ac power. If I were using ac I would’ve left them on and plugged straight to the inverter. Instead I wired it to the dc side and used the 12v power. I didn’t want to cut them but I was on a budget this week and had to improvise.
Try a ram pump
Where’s the choices 3 he said but 4 was on the video? Anybody wants to help me understand the situation?
The choices are in our community tab on our page.
I don’t want you to misunderstand but if I have to go to your page it’s too much work I’m computer savvy illiterate by choice much to my idgets-kids irritation but I let my grandson help but he is impatient and then he does it himself this Queen of the idgets... Can you believe that I had to explaining that to my children’s teachers what I meant when I would have to write notes for the school they were impressed with my ingenuity so I’d say that they liked my sense of humor 😂
@@hrhdianednum7203 I understand. I had to show my dad how to work on the site. The choices were Garden Shed
Greenhouse
Compost Outhouse
Mobile Chicken Coop
I’m still learning all these pages that UA-cam has. I just figured out how to do the community tab. I post on there a little to engage with people and see what they might like and post photos of projects that we are doing.
look up "ram pump" on You Tube - more powerful and NO power required....
How much was the pump
I bought it as a package deal. It had a pump, solar panel and a charge controller for around 300 from a place called Eco Worthy.
Nice but 20 min to long.
