The thumb relief cutouts on the Type 38 and 99 are not big enough. The idea was to use your whole thumb to push the rounds in off the stripper clip and that's where your thumb would go so you knew you got all the rounds in. They went completely down to the wood on the receiver. They were very close to the Mauser action in operation and design. Hence why you had the latch on the left side on the rear of the receiver.
To add to your point, the weird side-of-the-thumb reloads on the Arisaka family and the Kar98k are just janky. I tried doing it with my M24/47 and not only does it NOT work well it also hurts to do.
@ I never really had many issues with my Type 38. Then again, I spent a lot of time practicing on the K98K I had as well. To add: I would put the middle of my thumb on the round and wrap my fingers around the stock and “squeeze” the rounds in.
Did you use max fov when recording this video? The hands and and the guns look more zoomed out than they do in other Squad 44 showcase videos. Just curious.
The sten mark 5 seems bugged out, it sounds like its firing in burst even though you were firng it in semi auto edit: scratch that it sounds like most of the submachine guns are bugged with the burst sound, even my poor M1A1 Thompson, nevermind the issue plagues many guns in game
It's a style for the gun audio when doing burst fire, doing singular shots though will make it sound like you're shooting multiple rounds instead of one which is an issue
The bolt gun animations are crisp and impactful The auto tap-firing is cringe and I hate it It's weird, it's a problem for only like half of them Especially with higher fire rates Made more obvious an abrasive when comparing the otherwise amazing attention to detail
To my knowledge, it's only the japanese Guns that have this problem, most likely it will be fixed when the update fully releases. They are a fair bit distracting i agree Edit: just noticed it on the fg42 aswell guess they have had that problem for a while longer
These animations are sooooo inconsistent in quality 😑 Look at the first pistol (FN 1922) and compare it to M1911A1 pistol.... why that hand is shaking like crazy?
Iirc, a lot of the animations are carried over from when the game was called post scriptum and not owned by OWI. Those animations are the low quality ones
