- On Episode 2 of NHL After Dark™, Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin uses smooth hands and extreme technicality to overcome drills that look easier than they are.
Next Week's Episode will feature Gabriel Landeskog of the Colorado Avalanche, premiering Wednesday, February 17.
ABOUT THE SERIES: NHL After Dark™
The National Hockey League (NHL), the NHL Players' Association (NHLPA), and GoPro have announced an extended partnership for the 2016 NHL season.
This year's 11-part series will give hockey fans an immersive look at what happens on the ice during late night training sessions.
See the game from the perspectives of Tomáš Tatar, Evgeni Malkin, Gabriel Landeskog, Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin, Duncan Keith, Cory Schneider, and Claude Giroux.
New Episodes will be released Every Wednesday for the remainder of the season.

Yeah, Ovi is a sniper. He is like Kovalchuk. He is strong , talented and accurate. Ovi dont need to be smooth, smart and magic like Datsyuk, Ovi is another profile.

From 2:23 till the end is just ridiculous. He makes it look like everyone could stick handle like that.
+Sammo if you worked on it daily from when you were a kid until his age, working on smooth and clean handling, you could get close if not to his level. his handling is a very practical non-showy style that is more accessible than you'd think.
+david suursoo well jee, genius over here, I'm sure you can get pretty decent at anything if u start doing it at 5 years old with years of training and experience and good, hard work ethic and dedication. NHL players didn't pick up a stick yesterday bud. Plus hands arnt' everything, if u went up against Malkin, you would get destroyed in every aspect of the game, even if that persons hands were 'as good' as his.

i was commenting on how malkin's style is plain, far less fancy tricks or hand wizardry than other players use - it's a style that you can get very good at even without being gifted, a style that doesn't rely on flash, just muscle memory and practice. getting extremely good at that is achievable for any player if they put in the work, even those who start as adults(though it's easier for kids).
and sure, yeah, he'd wreck me(i possess no illusions about that), even at my hockey playing peak.
in large part because where is IS gifted is in his playmaking and his ability to read the game and find the right thing to do at a given time. i don't have that skill at anywhere near the same level, so i'd get caught out.
