And yes, the chains are too long on the nunchaku by about 4-5 links. On a related note...Max Factory seriously needs to stop sitting on prototypes for years. It's getting tiresome to see some things given the fast lane while others languish in prototype purgatory. They deserve every single lost sale with Bruce Lee because they had a good 2 years to be the "only Bruce Lee figure" and blew it.
Bruce Lee was known for his Jeet Kune Do, which he actually stylized and founded himself with all sorts of different influences and philosophies from different Chinese martial arts. But... Bruce was heavily influenced by Wing Chun, and he actually studied with Ip Man for some time.
i have both versions of bruce lee, i think obviously the figuarts one looks more realistic but this one has much better articulation. i like both though, this is figma so it's going to look more cartoony, which is cool, i still think it looks good
Another thing the figma has going for it is the materials, the S.H. Figuarts is regular plastic, while this one is made out of rubber, which mimics skin pretty well.
You statement on the nunchuck chain is true. I am a martial artist who's main weapon is nunchucks and the chain is way to long. In fact, it is better to have a shorter chain so you do not lose control of the chuck. Anyway nice review, so glad I got the figuarts instead.
IMO, its not as bad as you make it out to be. Its not that good, but its not super horrid. Its OK... Sure Figuarts is ALOT better(from in hand experience with BOTH figures), but it too has some flaws that the figma actually shines in. Like Hip articulation(which is important because bruce was all about flexibility), paint job(skin and pants), Ankle and wrist articulation....and yea that it. lol I think the torso(abs and pecks) look almost accurate to the real bruce's body actually. When bruce has tensed muscles, they look a great deal like that. Just look at some of his Enter the Dragon photos and stills. But in everything else, you are right. Diaper crotch just ruins it for me. Ive gotten use to it, but still...I dont understand why they did that....

i read/heard from somewhere that the sculptor or figma themselves looked up the wrong bruce lee... and may have googled bruce li instead lmao en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_Li whose real name is Ho Chung-tao (google for images lol) which could explain the head sculpt. there's no excuse for that atrocious body tho...
First of all, I hope figuarts Bruce Lee gets the praise it deserves eventually. It's true that anything would be better than this POS, but the SHF one is truly amazing, one of the best 1/12 action figures I've ever seen based on real people, easily 9/10 material (and that's counting it has some paint applications flaws in the eyebrows and only by looking very closely you can tell). I was looking forward for this review cause I knew you were going to tear it apart and sometimes those are more entertaining to watch. It managed to surpass Figma Indiana Jones as the worst recent japanese figure based on live action. Captain America was pretty mediocre too but way more acceptable than these two. Luckily Figma does knock it out of the park with anime/vgame characters so I'm looking forward to getting Zero Samus. Booby flap for male figma figures NEEDS to end. OH BTW Figma Kazuma Kiryu is looking pretty darn good and that has some live action elements to it and figma robocop is quite decent.

Well, in Asia it is considered an art to find the perfect balance between looks and mobility in a figure or doll. With this figure, they obviously missed the goal in both categories...poor Bruce Lee.
