Yes. Zoro & Rayleigh are parallels. Thats why they have similar scars.
To be fair, Luffy's use of second gear here is noticeably different and improved. In the past Luffy would use both of his legs as pumps (twice in some cases) to increase his blood pressure and give himself a boost. Here he only uses one arm effectively 1/4 of what he did when he first fought Blueno, and he is getting the same results. The way he uses Gear 2nd now should put a lot less strain on his body theoretically.
Indeed... that is a good in-world explanation with good writing but a bit difficult to catch if you are not paying enough attention... the actual real world explanation is... 90% of the time the drawbacks of "new" techniques are only "easy writing" (not to be confused with bad writing) to tell you why the character does not use it 100% of the time in all fights. It is an immediate reasoning as to why the power up can't be used in every single fight both for mystery, emotion and animation costs... the real reason would be that being able to use it whenever they wanted to would take the edge off of it and would quickly make it boring... by this point in time it has been about 4-5 years since the first time he used it... there is new stuff now so there is no need to make 2nd gear edgy so we can forget about drawbacks just like goku did about the kaioken... kaioken used to be dangerous... now goku uses it 100x without there being an issue... It was the same for Iva's healing shot... not to be confused with the adrenaline shot which only tires you out for which we did see the "immediate" consequences...

Robin's realistically there to drive the connection of the Straw Hats to the overall world. She's the one that has the 411 on wherever the crew goes, and she's the only one that has a goal that's directly about the history of the world, rather than something forward-facing like self-improvement. Of course she's also got power upgrades, but she first and foremost is there to put what the Straw Hats do in context with what came before them. So unlike the rest of the crew who have a direct role in the functioning of the ship (well, and Zoro, if you don't count first mate as a job), she really is there for the story itself.
U could argue Nami is also doing that, considering her dream is to draw an accurate map of the whole world. Her being a navigator is a plus, but she's there to see the world and draw it.
In a way also Sanji, since he wants to see a place that "doesnt exist", so the only way to see if thats true is to get to the end of the world and see if its there.
The Roger wearing a straw hat scene is Iconic.

Most pirates have scars if they fight with swords or against people with swords so it’s not surprising for people to have scars on their face. Shanks got his scars from BlackBeard. He explained it to WhiteBeard when they met on their ship. And yeah King’s Haki won’t work in someone with a strong will basically. As long as your will is strong you should be good from King’s/Conquerer’s Haki.

I can almost guarantee that the Straw Hat is part of the key to finding the One Piece. It has to be. It was Roger's first possession as a pirate.
Roger found the One Piece after leaving shanks and Buggy at some island. Shanks has the straw hat at that time when him and buggy left the ship. So the answer is no.
@@erwindavid2859 the straw hat is probably a test, maybe it started with Roger, maybe generations before, but basically serves to teach responsibility to a kid who wants to become a pirate. Roger passed it to Shanks, and Shanks to Luffy. Maybe Luffy passes it on eventually.
He mastered second gear, so it now part of his fighting style.
The strain of gear second on luffy's body was because his body/stamina wasn't strong enough to handle that much power. But now after two years of training, his body can cope and there is no drawback to his lifespan. Same as him not shrinking anymore after 3rd gear.
The straw hat went from Roger>Shanks>Luffy. Its the same hat.

Sanji withstood Rayleigh conqueror's haki during sabaody
Just wanted to make clear for that Kid and Law before the timeskip didn't passed out even though Rayleigh didn't exclude them from the shockwave of his Haki unlike the Straw Hats. So Sanji will not get affected from Rayleigh's Conqueror's Haki since Sanji has very strong will. The gap in overall strength will not matter after someone gets to pass a certain level (like all of the Straw Hats now)
Oda has done a pretty good job at paralleling the Old gen with the new ones.
Luffy = Roger
Zoro = Rayleigh
Nami = Rouge
Smoker = Garp
Koby = Sengoku
People think that Law is paralleled to Whitebeard but it's not as obvious as the big three Luffy, Zoro and Nami. It's so obvious that they even kinda look alike.
And as for Smoker and Koby, Just like how Garp used to constantly go after the previous Pirate King. Smoker is also shown to be constantly chasing Luffy who's the future Pirate King. And Koby wants to change the Marine and become a good Marine and to do that he needs to be in the position of Sengoku.
It almost feels like Oda is foreshadowing things.

Conqueror haki doesn't work based on Power difference it works only on the people with weak Will.
Mean even somebody like Rayleigh's conqueror Haki doesn't going to work on someone like... Zoro, Sanji and even on Usopp cuz these people has strong Will.
It's both power difference and willpower.

ye i can't really say im 100% sure this is the case but i also had a thought exactly like you, Depth perception is so important for fighting or for pretty much everything of physical nature that people do like sports and such, and maybe Zoro had his left eye shut for a year to train his right eye and after that he kept his right eye shut to train his left eye so when he opens them both it will be a giant boost in fighting capablity.
buuuuut going by what Zoro displayed like 10 chapters ago from the latest chapter, he went pretty much all out as hard as he could and still his scared eye shut, so it's probably not true and he really did just lost his eye.

Also whenever you hear the words "it will take years of your lifespan" in any anime... it is the same case... a reasoning as to why he can't use a technique or a weapon too often... for which we will never actually see the end result... since it is far future repercussions that are out of the scope of the actual show... If anyone asks we can always say... well luffy's body became sturdier when he got stronger so the effects became just getting a bit tired now...
