I actually was told by one of the staff that Disney is one of the top 3 purchasers of pyrotechnics along with the military. On average, their fireworks cost roughly up to around $55k a night. During their special events like Halloween or Spring Festivals when they do extra special shows like their villain themed shows it can go up to $65k a night. For their biggest shows on special occasions like new years and independence day, they can cost up to about $70k or more a night in fireworks.
I’ve never seen happily ever after in real life, but I watch it on UA-cam almost every other day. I can’t wait to be able to finally see it in person!! It will probably be a few years from now. Thank you for posting this! I love seeing how Disney makes the magic happen
actually, the lights mentioned at 4:24 are not used for happily ever after. they used to be used during wishes, hallowishes, and holiday wishes and during holidays. the lights used in happily ever after are actually right about where the picture was taken, because if those lights were used they would frequently get blocked by trees.
There used to be grey canister lights but those were replaced by the ones I showed around the time of Happily Ever After coming out. Plus, if those aren't those spotlights then where are they?
Wotso Videos if you have instagram i can dm you a picture. the ones in the round plastic balls are clay paky scenius profiles, and they don’t do beam effects. the ones in the show are elation proteus hybrids (they do beam effects), and they are next to the pathway linking fantasyland and liberty square.
Wotso Videos also, in the video of the show you can see that there are ten beams on each side of the castle shining upwards while the array you showed was only six.

Happily Ever After is simply the goat of nighttime spectaculars. I saw it again last night and it just is indescribable in its perfection. It makes me sob every time I watch it. Whatever idiot decided to try and replace it with anything, especially enchantment, should be ashamed of themselves. So happy that HEA is back for good. It truly is the best nighttime show of all time.

Interesting! I’ve seen all of it on UA-cam and I enjoyed them so much. Not only Disney did this fireworks shows, outside of Disney, New York City had fireworks elsewhere. I’ve been to 4th of July fireworks every year to see what it looks like comparing to this, because of the effects, color and displays, they’re looked the same. And then, COVID-19 hit where I wasn’t able to go to watch the fireworks this year, so I watched it near my house in the neighborhood. New York City had illegal fireworks that brought them back for the first time since the 1990’s where they set them off in so many neighborhoods during the 4th of July and prior to the 4th would be mid to late June where fireworks were set them off where it can spot them.

From the pic at the beginning it appears to be programed on a GrandMA 3 with an extra fader wing if any ones curious. Actually kinda surprised it wasnt on an eos board. From the other clip it kinda looks like the output monitor window in Resolume which is often used with MA boards since you can control it through Artnet but im not completely certain

I don’t like things that go bang, but I am fascinated by how fireworks work. And the colour of the explosion depends on the chemical composition of the firework. Sodium, for example, produces yellow sparks

I remember getting hit by ash one time from the fireworks. I looked down and said “oh look ash”. The cast member that was next to me then started to “freak out” and asked me at least 6 times if I was ok and needed anything. I just shrugged and said that I was fine. She walked me to the closet restroom (after the show ended) where I washed the area on my skin where the ash landed, and stayed there until I came out and showed her I was fine. Sometimes ash can still be hot and can burn someone when landing on their skin so she just wanted to make sure I didn’t end up burnt. But even if I did end up burnt I wouldn’t really mind because I was to involved in the show

I love hearing about all the technical aspects of the park. It makes me want to want to go back for a Disney vacation. Isaac, would you happen to know if the music they play each night is live? I’d like to see a video on dining options and how they reflect the Disney themes.
Carol Carlson, Sorry but no. Music in the parks related to these types of shows and any stage shows in the parks (Frozen, Lion King, etc) are not live musicians. All music and vocals are always recorded so that the timing and cueing of the show is exactly the same every time it is executed.

Although I wished you touched upon the hand manual-guided spotlights used to shine on Tinkerbell, which are backups in case her suit doesn't light up. I believe the one spotlight used to shine on her is somewhere in Tomorrowland, probably nearby where she lands.
I did see there was something on Tomorrow buildings but I never could figure out what it was!
Maybe for the next one you could do either Phantasmic or the light show at animal kingdom

i am a pyrotechnician by trade and shoot over 15 shows per year... one good thing to know is the size of the shells tells alot... for example a 8 inch shell goes up 800ft and has a spread of 80 feet when it detonates... basically its 100ft per inch = height and 10ft per inch for width
i love what i do but id rather watch happily ever after than to shoot my own show lol i am a passholder and travel from georgia to disney every 3 months lol
Now we have done fireworks, I wonder if you will discuss some of the video games that have been released. Thinking about the kingdom hearts series as I have recently ordered the collection set that is being released in October. I love those games.
Could you do a theory/video on why Fear couldn't remove the idea from Riley's head in the movie Inside Out? In stories, shows and movies you always see the cliche of kids running away from home but the kid always gets scared and runs home or gets home sick. So why couldn't fear remove the lightbulb (idea) out of fear? Or at least why couldn't he and sadness remove it together?

Wondering if there exists a spot somewhere on Disney world property where setting off those huge fireworks will be seen from their other parks (Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Animal Kingdom). If they synchronize, they can have one set of fireworks going off for 2 or 3 (maybe 4?) of their parks’ nighttime spectacular. May be a more efficient way of using those huge fireworks and would definitely cut costs down. Any thoughts?

I believe I watched something similar in Animal Kingdom - it had to do with the big tree. I have never been a fan of fireworks. They are beautiful but I tend to blink rapidly when I watch them- can’t stand the noise 😅 PS hey Issac don’t forget the origin of Neverland I requested please

No dosneh parks uses drone technology but all of them do use projection technology

When I was there for some unfortunate reason fireworks couldn’t be seen. Was blocked by the castle. Couldn’t see. Idk what happened. Not trying to bring negativity, just curious if anyone has had the same experience. This was 9 years ago, so I’m sure it hasn’t happened to anyone recently.
