Same bro especially coming from dayz. Dayz took way more hours and work to function out of a base and I still seen it blown up. I just started rust and been playing solo servers with like 5 people and I’ve made friends with them. Best game ever I’m participating in rustmas. Best event a game ever did. Fucking Santa brings airdrops and you can go into gingerbread house mines
Ayo Will - with solar panels: You face them South if you're on the Northern part of the map and face them North when you're on the Southern part of the map. Think of it like there's an equator on every map and the sun travels across from left to right for every day cycle. Here's where it gets weird though. The map actually has a "rotation" with the sun, which means the longer the wipe, the more variation you'll have from the sun, so, although the ground rules of facing north and south are there, it becomes askew depending on how long of a wipe you're playing. Not only is the Sun's position accurate to how it works in the real world, but the stars too. So much that people have been able to hypothesize where Rust takes place in the world (perhaps the southern end of South America). Hope this helps!

I think one of the biggest things that benefitted players like Willy J was the recoil "nerf" when they switched to procedural recoil rather than fixed pattern based recoil. Players who spend excessive amounts of time aim training no longer have their advantage.

As far as I know, you always face your solar panels either north or south, but towards the center of the map. So if the map is numbered to 35, if you live above 17, they point south and if you live below 17, point them north. Hope this helps.
this is no longer true, for the past year or so I place all solar panels facing just to the right of North, around 20 degrees. This seems to work best for me always. I previously always pointed to center. The same update that changed it also made solar panels super sensitive to shade.
rust earth is flat
You face the panels north if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere and south if you’re in the northern hemisphere. Good rule of thumb is to just point them at the equator from wherever you are.
And how can we tell which hemisphere we're in? Is it just top half/bottom half? Midline of map being equator?

I look east or west when the sun is rising or setting. The sun will be more north or south. And I place the solars whichever way the sun is

29:40 You place solar panels towards the center of the map. Rust light physics works by increasing the light at the center map, and the sun just gives a point for shadows to cast from.

Loved it. my general rule for solar panels is whilst in the center of the map, place them north or south facing depending on which side the sun tilts to, and as for the edges of the map typically just place them facing towards the center of the island.
Edit: when I did look into all of this it was a bit over a year ago however it has always still worked for me
