    I am shocked he didn't mentioned Wahaj Ali, Bilal Abbas , Ahmed Ali Akbar , Yumna Zaidi , Kubra Khan, Sajal Ali when asked about range . And since the hero questions seems very much targetted on Wahaj Ali and Bilal Abbas I would like to clear that both these actors have actually proven themselves with range . I know everyone will agree with Bilal Abbas but people who haven't seen Jo bichar gae , Ishq jalebi, Yorker, or any if his previous work will come at me for mentioning Wahaj Ali . Guys first watch it the only bad project he has done (acting wise)is mein and I hope he learns from it and do not repeat.

    Yasir is 100% right at 13:00. Some Indians and Bengalis are watching our dramas because they have frankly speaking garbage serials on their TVs. Ours are mildly better in comparison. And not even all of them are watching… But this idea the whole world is watching our dramas is a myth. The world which produces better quality dramas like Hollywood, Korea, Turkey etc are watching their own content and each other. Our content is nowhere near that level. In fact even our best of work doesn’t scratch the worse of their work.

    • @nasihanadeem6894
      @nasihanadeem6894 7 місяців тому +17

      Hi there! Not sure if you know much about bengalis or interacted with one. Even if you did, it doesn’t speak about the entire crowd. Bengali’s most definitely do not have garbage content. Ofcourse every industry is a mix. But certain groups are actually doing pretty well in terms of different types of story telling be it short dramas, movies and series on OTT. We have our own hits, its just that the language barrier and also probably lack of global promotion doesn’t allow it to be seen by a larger market which is sad as well. We watch pakistani dramas because its a bit different from bengali culture yet there are so many similarities! Which makes it interestingly refreshing. And more over we simply like watching it. Not because we have garbage content. Someone appreciating another country’s art doesn’t mean they have nothing on their canvas. Just wanted to correct you there :) Godspeed!

    It is not about drama being good or bad....its a cultural barrier. Our culture is very much close to indian, and also our production present content which is relatable for southasians. Why would turkish or korean people be interested in watching our dramas when there is nothing which can appeal to them and what actually they like we cannot produce those things including the romance, intimacy, relationships, actions. Yes our dramas lack different genres, and there are many other worlds to explore, PTV used to do that in 80s and 90s. As per the limited reach of our dramas anybody that can relate to stories watch them. Yes i agree not the whole world is sucker for it. Also i agree the quality of our content has been terrible during the past few years and green channle is a breath of fresh air.

      Because our people like watching these mostly garbage dramas and like claiming them as masterpieces. A country which calls Mere Humsafar a masterpiece lol. Our dramas are so bad, whether writing, direction, and production wise. Still so technically weak. Using cheap Sony cameras when world has advanced to Red and Arri Alexa. It's so sad that our actors don't watch their own Pakistani dramas; such as Yasir admitted in this interview that he doesn't watch (but watched Animal), even Imran Abbas admitted the same in his interview. Then they complain that our drama isn't the best. When you will not watch your own content how would you be able to review and fix the problem. I can understand most of our content isn't the best we are producing, however, recently 'Kabli Pulao', Gumn', 'Kuch Ankahi', 'Sar e rah', 'Neem', 'Janat say aagy', 'Breaking news', 'Aik tee Laila', 'Razia' and etc. all were onair in 2023, All were the really good dramas. Then we still complain.
    Then he said our drama is not the best but Korean and Turkish are the best. But sorry to say I don't find them appealing to watch because most of their dramas stories are based on hero and heroin's sexual desire and french kissing and half naked heroin. If this is the best content then I'm not interested in this.

    Yasir proved he’s a good actor in Badshah Begum. But I think he’s a better director actually and should direct more. Aik Thi Laila was an enjoyable watch, and he put in scenes that were never seen before on Pakistani television. I wish he gets the chance to direct more, perhaps partner with someone and open up a production company and direct that way.. I feel the same about Usman Mukhtar, decent actor but much better director. His short film Gulabo Rani was so good. I think Pakistani dramas need better directors than actors. With a good director anyone can become a good actor. Just a little thing I’ve noticed. Plus another positive point of Yasir is he’s not afraid to say what he feels and doesn’t mince his opinions and also he seems to be a very secure, sorted person.

    As someone who is not very familiar with Yasir ,i found some of his takes to be very self n revovling around himself it is great that he appreciated some the indian films such as stree etc but he could i would rather should have named some of the actors from the newer lot because we know for a fact that there are a few who are genuinely good n verstile actors ...u being part of the industry should acknowlege your own industry people rather than being dismissive about them n than u say the industry is not good etc while u yourself are being ...the change should also come from u as well.

Loved what he said about the drama industry not the best export, his opinion on humor and jokes not having a barrier, the actors making an issue, the total control of the channels and the production houses and not spending money to elevate their content.........all very true and totally agree with his views on these.

    Tough watch! A few things he said made sense but overall he came across as a salty person. Also, he is too full of himself... No you go to gym for two months, shave your beard..even then you would be a hard sell as a main stream typical hero... Don't belittle the efforts of other people... They are also working hard on their craft.. It's different than yours but not inferior than yours

      @@m.abdullahyousaf9863 agreed! However I would like to point out that dramas here aren't generally on universal topics and therefore only desi people can relate to these themes. This automatically limits the global reach but doesn't make our content any less of a good compared to what we get on Netflix. Also, now we are heading there.. Producing stuff for Netflix too so it is changing too.
      To be honest, he hasn't done much himself neither in mainstream nor in alternative media to claim everything is so easy and he isn't interested in doing such mediocre stuff 😁

    True, Yasir and Iqra been married for nearly 5 years now, and she’s worked in 3 dramas in total, 1 of that with Yasir. She’s hardly working as much, whereas before she would do few dramas a year. But she’s also at that position now she can choose her work wisely. She’s established herself & doesn’t need to do filler dramas like Jhooti anymore! And I agree with what Yasir said, Aiman was actually quite a good, natural actress. But unfortunately she’s lost those looks to come back on the screen even if she wanted to. She doesn’t look like an heroine anymore (before someone says I’m body shaming her as a mother, that’s not true, look at Ayeza, Iqra and Sarah who are mothers and still looking well and fit on screen). Let her enjoy being an influencer now, she’s probably making more money that way than acting anyway lol and again the calibre of our dramas aren’t worth acting in either for her to waste her time in them. She’s made her fame and can cash it in for the rest of her life with Muneeb as celebs (as they already do).

I would request u to watch these first he is brilliant in all of these shows and his script selection before tere bin was good the only mistake he made is mein which I heard he had to do this because of contract.
      Please do watch Yorker a 24 minute short film or 14 episode Jo bichar gae a masterpiece, or Ishq jalebi a very good comedy show. I bet u will change ur opinion. The guy has earned respect as an actor before commercial success. He has impeccable range from tragedy to comedy to alpha hero he nailed it. Tbh Murtasim a not so your usual alpha hero was not a character to be idealised but was difficult to perform it has so many layers and shades of grey it's only his performance which has made Murtasim what it is today.

      @@WaniaAmir-e2w Have u watched any of Wahaj Ali pre tere bin shows he had good script selection most of them were based on social cause even in his interviews he mentioned about responsible capitalism now his only mistake is mein acting wise and him not reading tere bin script but again Murtasim gave him his due success. Watch Jo bichar gae, Ishq jalebi, Dil na umeed toh nhi, haiwan, Yorker in all of these shows he has performed brilliantly. From tragedy to comedy to alpha hero he nailed all of them .Even Murtasim was not your regular alpha hero he has shades of grey and layers to him. portraying him was not a cake walk the actor who has range can only do that and Wahaj sir proved it . I would recommend u to watch Jo bichar gae a masterpiece, brilliantly executed 14 episodes it's his finest performance, or Ishq jalebi perfect comedy show or even Yorker 24 min short film . Then tell me your views I would love to know your POV!

      @@WaniaAmir-e2w Yes AAA is good looking and a good actor but I haven't seen his range like comedy, commercial hero but I don't think you haven't seen Wahaj Ali's previous work pre tere bin like Jo bichar gae, Ishq jalebi, Dil na umeed toh nhi, haiwan, Yorker even after tere bin he did 22 qadam where as a side character in female centric drama he stole the show some of his heavy emotional scenes were perfection that made u cry your heart out the accident scenes , but his mistake was to do mein which he had to because of contract I hope he better be careful next time as people are now judging him because of that mein only which is so sad as his script selection was good . Please do watch jo bichar gae a masterpiece brilliantly executed and performed one of his finest work 14 episodes only no drag , Ishq jalebi perfect comedy show, short film Yorker. You will know his range he can do comedy to tragedy to artsy to social cause to commercial alpha hero. That's the range . Plus I have noticed his screen presence is very strong and there is a certain aura. I hope you see these shows and give your PoV I would love to know that!

    Music is popular. Warner have signed deal with Zulfi who produced Coke Studio 2022 because they have spotted artists coming from Pakistan which they want to take global. So, people are noticing the music. I would say music is good, but again not the best in the world. But have produced legends like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Noor Jehan.
