Thanks for digging on it. Tides v1 and v2 are a bit different, mostly in that v2 is four channels and v1 is pretty much one. Otherwise, the sound and modulation is very similar.
@@Lightbath Yeah! I played with them in VCV and the audio rate sound was really similar, maybe a tad more gnarly on V1, already got a maths, so i'll survive with the outputs i'm sure!
I love this setup, my question how many outputs do you have going into an interface/mixer to get stereo? I really wanted to incooperate Blinds & Veils but I was struggling with how to achieve a stereo output.
I just checked my patch notes archive on Patreon, and it looks like I go out of every Veils output to multitrack each Tides out separately, and then Peaks has two individual outs, and Clouds has two outs as well for a total of 8 inputs on the Zoom F8.
I want to make a Mutable Instruments Skiff like this one. Can you make an overview video on this setup? Im curious to know how you have everything connected. Especially with the midi controller
That's great. The Lightbath Zone video for this piece goes over all the details (ua-cam.com/video/Tg4j0LQ6TvI/v-deo.html) and then there are some patch notes on Patreon (patreon.com/lightbath). Wishing you well on your journey.
I am very much a noob about this, just getting started. I want to build my own eurorack and I was wondering, what is the final audio output? Do i need a module for this or? This is the grid here www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/749749
Each module has its own output to the multitrack recorder :) I find that no specific modules are needed and that most mixers and audio recorders/interfaces can handle the hot signal coming out of the modular.
One more question. In your first Loom video when you were hiding the module to the right of Clouds was it only Marbles that was unseen? I am planning to put together an all M.I. synth and would like to keep it small. The setup in the first video seemed quite capable. So was it just the Marbles to the right of Clouds or anything else? Thanks.
TheSlowGrowth Patch Notes are available through Patreon and I’m posting a Lightbath Zone video next that breaks down the entire patch and explains the process :)
Funk Tree Some people are just trolls. I recently had a troll go through about 8 of my vids, thumbs-down, and leave snarky comments on each of them over the course of a few hours. Sure did love torturing himself with my horrible vids.
If what you’re saying is that you want to understand more about how this was made, then you’re in luck because up next is a Lightbath Zone video that describes my process and the patch. And if you’re saying that you don’t like the music, then you’re not luck because this next video will be a deeper dive into this same sort of thing.
Mike Thomas oh, right. I get it. Thanks for the support, you two. Yeah, this piece is getting more thumbs down than most of my others, but I’ve noticed that polarization of support seems to happen when I make something that strongly moves in a certain sonic direction. As if the people who like the darker stuff can’t stand the brighter or sweeter pieces. Eh, to each their own. Trolls don’t really phase me and it’s great to receive support from folks like you two. You know, whatever you focus on grows 🌱
Lovely piece. Thanks for sharing not just your music, but your process as well!
It amazes me how with modular you can make such incredible songs with so few modules. Great work.
It’s high tide! Love the U2 feel. Should name it “High Tides Have No Name”
David Knight good one ☝️
🤣
I can really imagine learning about the lifecycle of an aphid to this. Great job!
Borders of Elmet woah, cool
i love that set up. very minimalistic comparing to other stuff out there. Would be cool to see more composition with this setup!
Fantastic! I really dig big sounds out of a smallish rig!
Looking very carefully at your minimal setup as I start on my modular quest. Great soundscape.
That is a stunning performance...well done!
MORNING MEDITATION ❤ 🔥 🙏
I’m always amazed by how much you do with 3u 104hp. 😍
Lovely, as usual -- thanks for sharing this work Bryan!
Awesome! Like it a lot!
love the sounds and your shipibo cloth 🐳
Revisiting this video every month! Actually just bought the old Tides since it was a bit cheaper, hope i didn't make a mistake going for the v1 :)

Absolute class as usual. Such a fantastic sound!

AMULETS thanks, man - too bad there’s no visible Amulets sticker in this one
Soooooounds sooooo gooooooood ✨
Very nice! 👍
very cool
Oh, yo Franck. Thanks.

Have you ever considered releasing some of your tracks as a "meditation music" album? It's so soothing!
Shal Music/FX thank you. And yes, I have ideas for a meditation sort of release.
Great use of Marbles here. Are you using both Tides v1 and v2 as sound sources?
Ah, nope. Check out this video for an explanation of how they’re used: ua-cam.com/video/Tg4j0LQ6TvI/v-deo.html
Oh and Marbles isn’t in this rack :)
@@Lightbath well that explains it all! Sorry for the stupid question and equally dumb observation on my side. Love your work!
What stand and rack case is this? Beautiful composition!
Thanks. It’s made by MDR. There’s a link in the description.

I found your modular grid. All the answers are there. A lot of help! Thanks again!
Ah, great. Yep. ModularGrid :)
I would love to understand this patch. Where does the rhythm come from? What's happening with all the outputs from Tides?
TheSlowGrowth Patch Notes are available through Patreon and I’m posting a Lightbath Zone video next that breaks down the entire patch and explains the process :)
Ah...Il est bon ce bain de lumiere quand mem,y'a pas à ch...
you have 8 sound outputs right? take up all the inputs on your recorder
Yep. USE THEM ALLLLLLL!!!!!!
what kind of skiff is that?
The case is made by MDR. There’s a link in the description :)
Rumors of Tides’ demise greatly exaggerated?
Mike Thomas oh, I’ve heard no rumors.
Stuff was going around on one of the FB forums the other day, and Tides appears to have been moved to the "discontinued" side on the MI website.
Oh, duh. A new Tides is rising :-D. I've kind of been out of the module market for a bit, so missed the new module under the old name.
Ah, right. Yeah, this is Tides 2, which, like the new René and Nebulae, is just called the name without the 2. It’s pretty great, this new version.
NEEDZ MOAR CLOUDZ
With certain modular vids I'd understand thumbs down...but with performance/patching like this ...I don't get IT

No Bryan, Funk Tree and I are both complaining about trolls and drive-by thumbs-downers. Funk Tree is good peeps. Check out his vids!
