Kohler courages are the bad kohler engines, if you get a vtwin which is the most common these days are the 7000 series engines, they are pretty good powerful engines, the kohler command engines are good as well
definitely agree wit staying away from the Briggs single cylinder engines. I have one on my JD e100 and its a piece of junk. Camshaft broke after like 80 hours and the head gasket it goin bad on it at like 150 hours. The one good thing is that you can buy cheap aftermarket parts because they really can't get that much worse than OEM. But so far, zero issues out of my v-twin Briggs on my z515e at 185 hours
The general rule of always get a V-twin is not a good rule. The Kohler Command single and Briggs flathead single are much better than some newer V-twins.
Very informative video. Thanks for sharing. Are you up for a collaboration? Hipa supplies parts for small engines and I noticed that you're a mechanic with lot of knowledge on small engine repair, maybe we would work together to help more people in the community?
Sure, what exactly would that involve? I have a few spark plugs from Hipa and they seem to work ok. Are you requesting a sponsorship or free products to review?
Good information on riding mowers
