@@sierrablue2206 The Trails in the Sky series is also very good, all 3 parts, fantastic RPGS. I do like Trails of cold Steel 1-4 and will now play Zero and Azure, Trails of Daybreak etc. Started with the Sky series and went to Cold Steel directly, as Zero and Azure weren't ported yet. Its funny as the Azure and Zero characters (and the Sky charakters) all make their apearence in the later parts of the Cold Steel series.
Have yet to play them, but i have played the 3 Trails in the Sky parts (and all 4 Cold Steel games). Traisl in the Sky is fantastic. Now playing Zero and Azure and then the rest of whats available in the west (Daybreak and that in between game). Its hundreds of hundreds of hours lol.
The entire Trails series is on switch in Japan. The reason only half the English language ones are available is because those are the ones published by NIS America. The ones that Xseed localized haven’t been put on switch.
yeah it sucks, xseed must own the license to the English localization to trails of cold steel 1&2, so I have those 2 on ps4 and 3 n 4 on switch. does xseed have other LoH localizations or just those 2 cold steel games?

I don't think the steam numbers for Trails series is a good way to look at how it is performing. It is a game that spread via word of mouth and everyone that joined in is at a different game in the series. I am working on Cold Steel IV right now. That is a ton of games to spread everyone across and the games have been out for some time at this point excluding the newest entry.
I pray for the game's success and hope that the decision to remake it rather than porting the sky collection to modern consoles would be well worth it and be the game that will introduce many more people to the series
I mean everyone can play the original Sky series on a Laptop or PC, it runs on weak hardware. You could even use Geforce now to stream it on a Smartphone i guess if you own the Steam versions. Or emulate the PSP versions on Android Smartphones.
Modern consoles should be completely left behind as far as Japanese devs are concerned. Sony even screwed over Japan Studios and moved their headquarters to California because many Japanese publishers refused to go woke. These classic JRPG games are in high demand now, many people are tired of the woke garbage. Keeping them exclusive to Nintendo will benefit them greatly. People are leaving these so-called modern consoles you speak of in doves. Don't even bother arguing, it's the big reason why many of these AAA games are flop, people know what it contains before it's even released and they go out of their way to avoid it like a plague.
Falcom always release their new games on one platform. Originally, it was PC then PSP, PS Vita, PS4 and now Switch. Localisers are the people who with their studios port the games on multiple platforms and typically remaster them too with bumps in FPS, graphics and QOL on more powerful hardware.
The problem with Sky 1st is Falcom still hasn’t decided on a localiser yet despite screenshots showcasing the English release being based 1:1 on Xseed’s localisation.
I think it makes sense to have the legend of heroes games come frist in Japan on swtch but in the west I think it should come to all platforms in the west
Every trails games sales has been on slow decline since tocs 2 in Japan. Even newest entry kuro no kiseki 2 even barely pass 45k in Japan in the first week. So it makes sense falcom start to focus on Switch
The Switch versions have barely made 10k. Besides, Kuro 2 made it's first months 73k per media Create, only phisical and only PS4 version. Sales must be something above 100K, the usual for franchise except for Sen no Kiseki that did way better.

CS3 and 4 were about 140-150k phisical (with digital probably adding also a bit, both were said to be the two biggest digital launches for Falcom). Now, Media Create leak a couple months ago for 6-7 titles gave considerably higher phisical numbers for some games, maybe Kiseki is the same. Add the digital sales and while not in the heyday of Cold Steel the series is probably still doing 120K in Japan... the same as in the Sky and Crosbell days. Switch are late ports and added up another 10k phisical+digital later on, maybe day one would sell a lot more, but most of your user base is in Playstation and PC, so I am pretty sure if they release only on Switch.. numbers will be not very good.

Some 120k on release and 240-250k LTD, a quarter million phisical sales only in Japan when digital was still in its infancy there. Cold Steel 3 and 4 did less (some 150k LTD with less that 100k openings) phisically...buut Falcom stated digital sales were much bigger so probably werent so down. Decline started with Hajimari and then the Kuro games. Still,what I am saying is quite clear. Those 150-250K numbers we had for Cold Steel 1 and 2 were MC numbers. Now we have Famitsu. There was a leak of MC a couple months ago for 6-7 games and all games were quite higher thatn in Famitsu LTDs. Kuro and Kuro II did some 50-55k release and 73 and 75k first month of release and then we didnt get more data. Only phisical and only PS4. Then it was the PS5 release with some 4-5k, then PC that we dont know because all digital, and then Switch versions around 8k release and 10-11k LTD. All this Famitsu data. Kondo said for Kuro 1 that digital wasnt so much as to cover the soft phisical sales, he mentioned some 20% sales in digital (for Ys X he said 50% for example). All in all, though, even by Famitsu numbers we are clearly looking at 100-120k games once we count digital and PS5 and Switch versions let alone PC. That was the usual sales for Sky trilogy and Crossbell duology. Comparing always to the peak of sales of Cold Steel will always result in a bit of a let down. I hope Kai does a bit better this time, maybe pushing 60 or 70K phisical and 100k including digital for release, but thing is we wont know for sure and wont have definitive data without digital and withour counting the pending releases. As for Swith late ports, its true that hurts sales, but woulndt be surprised if this remake bombs, most of the userbase are on PS and PC since 20 years ago.
It makes sense that they're gravitating towards Switch, and I hope that spells better sales for Falcom. I just hope that multiplatform ports are in the works as well. Switch games these days tend to have serious FPS issues. I'd rather play on PC or PS5.
Bilbo Kun is the guy who correctly leaks the PS+ games every month and recently leaked the PS5 Pro design, which Sony seemed to unofficially confirm in their 30th anniversary product announcement yesterday. He seems to have access to some backend stuff. He's great at PS stuff. Not sure if I ever heard him comment on Nintendo before though.
There is evidence and rumors that Level 5 is working on an original Inazuma Eleven Trilogy remake in the same style as Victory Road, one of those 2 games is probably that
Falcom gives us games every year or all 2 years, at least in japan, so they can't give us AAAA graphics either way, they have not the manpower for that, and thats fine. The Remake looks absolutely fantastic on Switch and on PS4/PS5 and PC in higher resolution it will be probably one of the best looking Falcom games either way.
I've only played cold steel for switch so far, but I love the story and lore of the games, and want them all to come to switch if possible I just really enjoy the political intrigue and simple things like it's fantasy, but it has robots and airships a good blend of both. I'm gonna play trials from zero and the others soon, but it might be a little slow-going because I want to get them all physical, and they seem to have gotten rather pricey.
Funny, I'm actually playing Sky FC, PC version on Steam and out the blue I hear they're releasing a remake. I hope I could migrate my save somehow just like Cold Steel 1&2.

What sticks out to me with games lately... the sprites dont match the background. With Visions, its really noticeable but there has been quite a few games ive noticed it on. Just dowsnt blend well and looks more like they are "floating" on a background. It makes games look bad.
Lots of reasons better graphics on one system added content and portability on another there is also Collecting special editions and also just like movies there are directors cuts or GOTY editions with all the dlc included there are also games like Castlevania collection that have multiple games on one disc or cartridge or digital the list goes on .
True. There's no way this does not come to PC as well. Exclusives are not profitable and this is the entry point to their flagship series. It makes zero sense to make that an exclusive.

Whenever I see Japanese sales it's always Switch way ahead on top and top 30 games charts are populated with Switch games most being Japanese. What this and the sales of astrobot tells me is that the proportion of game enthusiasts is generally quite low in the ps5-community as compared to the switch-community. I think ps5 owners in general probably play mostly fifa and Fortnite🤔🫢

Visions of Mania should've done better, so I am sad that this didn't do as well as it should have.

Very unlikely. And you'll finish FC before SC is remade. Once you beat FC you won't want to wait to start SC.
