So I am the Shinko brand manager for the USA and I really appreciate you enjoying our tire so much. We have started manufacturing front tires for the 777's series now. You will also find these tires are half the cost of any other, so while you get less miles out of it you can almost buy two sets of ours for the cost of one set of the competitions.

Hey man, glad you like it! If you recall, I was the one that originally suggested this tire on the LT forums and exchanged with you a few times about it. Funny how I was evidently the first to use that tire and got a huge rash of crap from everyone... now suddenly everyone loves them! cracks me up. Anyway, i've been through like 3 of these and averaged about 7500-8000 miles each heavy 2-up spirited riding. I run mine at 41PSI cold. LOVE this tire in all conditions ive run it in! I have run a Shinko Advance front radial with this tire for each of the 3, no problems at all.
currently on a Kenda Cataclysm because bike bandit didnt have the Shinko in stock when I needed a tire. Only a few hundred miles on that so the jury is still out on that one, but either way, glad you like it!

Thanks so much for the video and your great test. Had to replace an almost new Z6 Metzeler after something took 3/4 inch out of it on the road, and after quite a bit of research and your vid, decided to try the 777 HD. Heck if I buy two, I'll be able to buy the third almost for free when you consider ow much I've save over some of the other brands, and will have newer tread and rubber too instead of an old hard high mileage tire. For info, the 777 HD went on my ST1100 as easily as anything else I've mounted and I put the red tire mark on the valve stem so it did not take a single weight to balance it. Thanks again.

Thank you for the review. I just bought a set of whitewall Shinko 777's.One shipped from PA nd the other from GA. Fortunately for me, they now make a front tire. I live in New York where the average summer temp is around 85 degrees. So cooler tires along with the fact I ride a Suzuki 800cc Boulevard that tops out at 75ish, I feel confident I can get 6 to 7000 out of these. A lot of my riding is local with the Patriot Guard Riders. (Slow speeds) I look forward to getting these mounted in the springtime and seeing how they do. After seeing your video I am feeling optimistic.

@@winterbeach286 After riding on them for the season I have no complaints. They stick to the road on curves and ride very smooth. I don't see any wear on them at all so I think if you read a review from Arizona where it's hot you might not get a good review, they are aggressive and a softer tire. However up here in NY, they are perfect.

I always ran continentals 40 years ago then I went to Dunlap and both tires worked great. I had a set of Avon's and I had an issue with the rear tire. I just bought a set of Shinko's and the Harley service dept. almost declined to mount them for me. I use to mounted my own tires but I am getting too old to roll around on the garage floor with tires. (67) Now I am worried about using these Shainko tires. I don't ride far or fast much these days and my wife is to ill to ride with me anymore. It is just me but I hope your are right about these tires but I guess I will find out.

You know, that flat spot indicates to me for performance. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that wear is your contact patch. I run a full dressed Honda vtx 1300. I'm probably around 720-730 lb.s (my bike, not me 😆) so I'm not the heaviest bike, but definitely not a small bike either and I love these tires! I usually get rid of chicken strips pretty quick and I gotta say, I'm confident in these tires!

I live in north Florida, have these tires on my old volusia 800. That being said I have taken her off road in sand and in orange clay mud. They do pretty good for what they are. Not as smooth as the continental tires on my vstrom but I dont need those on my daily commute bike anyway.

I agree... I really like the 777HD tire on my 08 of how well it sticks. I currently have about almost 3k on my 777HD and it is mostly with 2 up riding. I had my 09, it had the ME 880 on my 09 and I didnt like it, they lacked stick, even noticed on road snakes would feel a bit of shake. I bought my Shinko at Denniskirk they had a sale and it was just under 80 bucks shipped. Agree the 5k miles can be a bummer, but I have always picked grip over tread life. I'll likely look at one of the Shinko tires for the front, likely the 016 Verge2X.
Thank you as always for all the info :)

My first 777 went about 5700. I have about 2000 on my second and it has developed a slow leak about center tread. There is no indication of a puncture, even with a 10X magnifier. The only way I found the spot was with soapy water. In forty five years of riding and probably a dozen punctures I have never encountered one that could not be located visually. I'm convinced the tire failed internally as I can not imagine what I could have encountered on the road that would cause such a minute leakage point. Im going to try another one... just want to get word out to see if there is a trend or not.

Hard to beat the BT020 on the rear with a Metz 880 on the front. Good handling and great mileage. I am running an 888 front now so I will see if it lasts as long as the 880. I get 12,000 give or take on the BT020 rear and 16,000 give or take on the 880 front. I have an 07 so I am limited to bias ply tires.
