Even adam said one can interpret godzilla was acting selfish in that scene as she wasn't active since the events of dominion. Realistically tiamat died cause she was defending her territory like any animal would. Godzilla was being a jerk in that scene even if he did it to make himself stronger to fight a bigger threat.
