      @rigel star I don't puke. If I did I'd do it on the tracks.

    The train seats are interesting, the pattern is much more clear unlike the buses.

    I love the donut logo and the fact there are multiple elevators so that disabled people are not screwed if one goes out of service.

    It looks really cool! I can see one small thing that's a bit distracting, which is that one of the horizontal railings seems to be in the way of the digital displays making them quite hard to see, and I think that part needs to be redesigned such that the displays are more directly visible. Also I think there needs to be hanging straps such that people standing up can have something that can hold on to.
    But overall, a far superior product compared to the Bombardier Flexity!

      Yep and our Finch West LRT will have the same vehicles

    • @annoyed707
      @annoyed707 5 років тому

      That's only from a standing position at a certain height. Seated passengers and those standing ahead of that horizontal yellow tube should be able to see the display.

    The trains look like they go a lot faster than I expected. And it's fully grade separated! Ottawa finally has a real metro system that can be compared to Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal! Congrats!

    Looks amazing, Ottawa! Congrats on joining the Light Rail Club. :)
    And I am super impressed by the look of the Citadis trains - I am hoping when Calgary gets its damn act together and bloody build the Green Line, we leave Siemens behind and go for Alstom.

    • @wizardsuth
      @wizardsuth 5 років тому

      Ottawa has had light rail since 2001, but only one line, and it only has five stops. It was a pilot project that used an existing rail line. The new line has thirteen stops and goes right through the downtown.

      Eerrp Here in Phoenix, AZ we are buying new Siemens trains to replace the older fleet. Should we be scared?

    • @transitvideosbayarea
      @transitvideosbayarea 5 років тому

      RedLight GreenArrow The Siemens trains aren’t bad, it’s just that Alston is even better.

      @Errin if I were you I’d be sad that Valley Metro is choosing boring S70s instead of buying more Kinkisharyos. I love Kinkisharyo and I wish that Valley Metro would have bought more LRVs from them rather than go with generic S70s. I think these Alstoms are quite nice, have a much cooler VF drive sound, and are less boring than S70s.

    Does the LRT not report station names?

    • @RailFansCanada
      @RailFansCanada  5 років тому

      Yes it does but this was a pre-launch ride and the announcements were not running.

    • @Roderick1956
      @Roderick1956 5 років тому

      They actually announce a lot of things, maybe too many. Yes, next station announcements and arrival announcements are made for every station.

    Will the line ever be extended to the airport

    • @RailFansCanada
      @RailFansCanada  4 роки тому +1

      The Line 2 Trillium Line is being extended to the airport in 2022. It’s going south to Limebank in reality but a break off spur line will run between south keys and the airport.

    Looks nice and all but why are the stations in the middle of no where?

    • @annoyed707
      @annoyed707 5 років тому +1

      Nowhere, like downtown and major shopping centers, and transfer points.

  • @redphone1438

    Very modern, but where is the automated announcements on the train?

    • @RailFansCanada
      @RailFansCanada  5 років тому

      It was a modified trip for media and city council so it wasn’t doing proper stops at the stations.

    • @redphone1438
      @redphone1438 5 років тому

      O-Train Fans ok, so therefore the real opening will have automated announcements right?
