I was looking for the same thing, cutting wooden blocks to space the lower rail brackets off the deck. Let the top rail rest on a spindle at each end to find the height/location for screwing top rail brackets. Big square posts tend to twist etc. so cut things a little long and nibble a bit off to make the top and bottom to make a good fit. The rest is cover in this video.
Have you guys ever messed around with any steel framing yet? It's slowly gaining some traction here in the Midwest. Fortress has a pretty nice looking system. Thanks guys.
The instructions say to drill drain holes every 24 inches in the bottom rail. That must be all the way through the rail?
What can you do when a bottom post isn't quite 90 degrees to the top post for rails?
I would like to know how to install your top and bottom rails when your posts are solid wood beams attached to the floor of your deck and the roof ?

Did you use 10# x 3/4" self-drilling metal screws? Since it's aluminum railing, are your screws ceramic instead of metal?
What did you use for shims under the post bases?
