Just watched Yago Dora surf and it got me thinking about Kelly Slater's peak. When do you think Kelly was at his best? Personally, I believe he had a long plateau of greatness, with late 90's (97', 98') and mid 2000's being standout periods. But here's the thing - I genuinely believe that Yago Dora today could beat that version of Kelly Slater. Yago is on another level right now. It's crazy to think that even the lowest-ranked surfer on the current tour could potentially beat legends like OCCY at Cloudbreak.
