In this video we were catching stripers jigging a 1/2 oz silver blade bait. We also had some luck with a deep diving crank bait. Popular baits to fish during this time of year are various spoons and blade baits to jig on fish you have marked with sonar. Also, any white or silver colored swimbait paired with a 1/4 or 1/8 oz jig head is a good shad imitation. Some anglers do quite well trolling artificial lures or bait with planer boards.
My best advice would be get a few of your fishing buddies together and hire a local guide. They will out you on the fish. The guys that fish from the bank tell me Lake Anna State park is the best access. They use live or cut bait fished on the bottom.
Plenty of boat ramps there. I recommend Christopher Run campground. It's back in a protected cove so you don't get many boat wakes. Good striper fishing just downlake from there. Easy paddle

How does the warm side of Lake Anna compare to the cold side for Stripers?
Cold side is better, plus public access to warm side is very limited

Great video. Question: As a kayak fisherman where would be the best place to launch my kayak?
