These events are becoming more and more popular as the old faiths gain more interest again. They're always worth a pilgrimage to as well! Thank you for your comment and I hope you have a blessed start to this new season.
We should all recognise our spiritual past, this is the true essence of our British culture and identity, I’m a Cumbrian and I celebrate my Celtic ancestors, Great Great grandfather was Irish and his wife was Scottish who moved to Cumbria the last Celtic king was Dun-mail.
What a brilliant beltane festival...must have been exciting being a part of that throng, doing what witches have done for centuries, not just at Glastonbury Village bit everywhere
I must correct @beverlybrady5485 whose comment throws a small section of light on Cumbrian History. I too am a Cumbrian (not just a casual visitor as beverly appears to be). The LAST king of Cumbria was in FACT Urian Rehged. Dun Mail (dark armour) came many, many years later.
@@gaiasguides7719 What do you believe the Green Man represents - 'The Spirit of the Green Woods' or some such? By coincidence I am currently reading Kathleen Basford's study of foliate heads (Green Men) and it is quite clear that other than a very few examples the vast majority are anything but benign. 'Demonic', 'sinister', 'fantasies of the eerie and macabre', 'eyes that glare balefully or stare, unfocussed, into space, full of foreboding', 'belicose', 'morose', 'despairing', 'anguished are just some of the descriptions she gives to these images. I am Intrigued as to how the Green Man appears to have taken on a character quite at odds with how the medieval masons originally depicted him.
There is too much smoke and stuff that is bad for lung patients. We want and we have a right to want pure untarnished air, it is one of the 5 elements. We want pure air.
It's a fire festival. Complaining about a once yearly festival compared to the thousands of corporations and millions of vehicles producing unclean air on a daily basis is looking at the wrong area.
"He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her." Your beliefs are not everyone else's. People are given their free will to do with what they please. Most of your holidays come from Heathen routes, now away with you and your self righteous self.
Aw man, I'd love to have a celebration like this near me! The joy and energy is amazing❤ Thanks for sharing!!

Was it turned into a hippie event, I thought something else?
I love these special interest groups that do nutty things and make me laugh.
its a religous holiday celebration.... not an interest group
@@nicon5006 All religions are special interest groups.
Back to pagan celebration : May 1st = Baal fire ritual !
WTF IS GOING ON ?
This is the Beltane festival that celebrates the new season and the story of the Green Man. A Pagan holiday where hand fasting and offerings are made.

The Green Man? The medieval leafy head carvings found in churches?
@@Wotsitorlabart yes that's correct, a lot of Christian imagery once belonged to a lot of non-Abrahamc faiths

Sometimes the British get tired of doing boring and decide to do pagan. It's fun

Why at all these type of events do people wear top hats and why do people do that noise with there voices copying some African desert people
Breaking your creator’s first commandment is definitely a bad idea
