- Hey Y'all!! I don't know about you, but I've tried magnetic lashes and wanted to fall head over heels.. but ended up tripping and staggering and falling flat on my face instead! They whispered sweet nothings to me with the sleek videos where they just effortlessly snap these beauties right on their eyes.. and viola, no glue, flirty feathery lashes in an instant! So... I bought them... got them home.. and tried for over an hour to get "instant" fake lashes, without the minute and a half gluing step. WHAAAAAAAAAA??? The first 3 minutes of this video confirms this... THEN we get smart! Watch this video for a modified hack! Ardell has a video on their Instagram that shows how to cut the lashes into 6 pieces EACH... well.. to me that is a lot of little feathery pieces to keep up with... (this coming from the girl who once stuck my lashes to a diet dr. pepper can and caused my mom to run shrieking through the family dinner screaming that a tarantula had a hold of her!).... so I don't need to try and keep up with 6 chunks of lash per eye... so watch my video and see what I did!

Agreed, I had purchased the half lashes first and loved them, so I bought the full strips...and omg I cannot tell you how close I was to tossing them in the trash! I knew there had to be some sort of secret to these that I didn't know about, so I held on to them just in case-they truly are sooooo comfortable (once in the right place). I'm glad I did because you saved my Bad-Lash-Day! To anyone skeptical about them, try them! A little tricky at first, but once you have the hang of them, you won't even know they're there! 👁️🤳🙆

I cannot stress this enough. Just put the full bottom lash on and hold it tightly by shutting your eye. Then take the top lash and kinda slide it down your top lid to meet it. One and done. You aren’t dropping the lash, getting it too far away from your lid..it’s just ridiculously easy.

It’s not ridiculously easy for some of us. I tried that as well without perfection. They still had gaps or pinched me.
I've asian eyes, I thought magnetic lashes would save my time on sticking falsies.... after an hour of trying, an watching several magnetic lashes hack... I saw this comment and I thought it was life saver, I've followed your instructuons and tried like almost 10 times it stills get into my eyes/doesn't stick properly to my eyeliner 😭😭😭it's so frustrating 😭
Sally Lee I feel your pain! LOL! I've been trying for a month and still no luck. I'm not giving up, but I finally put them away in a separate place from my everyday makeup. A girl has to save her nerves sometimes! The only thing I have conquered is losing them. I tuck a white sheet under my chin so it if they fall I can find them. At least that's a little progress!

I've been using some magnetic liner to hold the top lash in place, then put the bottom lash on. Hope this helps someone out there! ❤

Tip: use plastic tweezers
This is the best tutorial for Ardell lashes without alot of misc chitchat. Thank you. I did note that your fingernails have a blue shade (not polish). On rare occurrences this can indicate a health problem. Please check with your MD as I hope to see more tutorials from you. Take care.

I hated the fit, since they looked fake, and I was just beside myself thinking I'd done something wrong. It's a comfort to see that it's partially the design of the lashes themselves, and your hack is going to be a lifesaver. Genius is right! I wasn’t aware Ardell even had magnetic lashes yet! My first experience was EXACTLY like yours, I think I bought them off an ad on FB. EPIC FAIL, sad, sad little lashes. I’ll have to try this now. Thanks for thinking through this and coming up with an excellent hack! I think Ardell owes you a percentage. I’ll be surprised if their next version doesn’t come with one full lash and one that’s been cut in thirds! Blessings.

OMG YOU ROCKED THAT HACK!!! I tried it with a pair of generic magnetic eyelashes I bought on eBay. Now I’m going to Sally’s and get the real (Ardell) ones!!! THAAAANK YOU!!!
Did it work with the generic ones? I’ve been wondering that myself!! I’ve not found any other brands that had four magnets and I wasn’t sure if it would work with two or three magnets.

I was going to throw them away until your video popped up. I'm really excited to be able to wear mine. Although, I had problems getting the top ones to lay down against my lash line. Best video ever! I was struggling with these lashes for so long and got really annoyed when the bottom lashes would just not sit right and were toooo straight and looked weird. Tried this trick and omg! They are perfect!! Will wear these to work everyday now without any lash glue residue! Yay!!
Yay!!!! I just did a video on the magnetic eyeliner and spoiler alert, in the end I just ended up cutting the lashes and tossing the eyeliner! Ha
I just bought these. And I am not a girly girl but I want lashes! I want to look cute but like i could fight lol. Anyways! I fought with these lashes for hours. Most youtubers make it look so simple and easy! I love that you didn't mind showing that it didn't work. BUT HOLY COW! You just saved Ulta from my return! I got the pack that has the split because I also thought it looked like it would work easier then the full lash. Way off. Since it has 2 magnets on each side it is slightly easier but still slightly to hard. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT CUTTING IT INTO 3 WOULD WORK! THANK YOU FOR SAVING ME A DISAPPOINTING TRIP THINKING I HAD FAILED! THEY ARE JUST CRAZY HARD. But with a trick like this I will be looking girly in no time! I am so excited and can't wait to try! I've been wearing strip lashes for quite awhile - I love the way they look, but hate applying glue. Kat C the left and right you can tell by the inner corner. Thy are shorter than the other end. I was also looking to see how to tell top from bottom 😂 I’m kinda hoping it doesn’t matter.

I'm just seeing this video for the 1st time. I've been back and forth with these "things." As alot of comments I have read, they are and can be great. That is if you can get them on correctly! These lashes really do take practice for some of us to put on and flow with your own lashes and look like they belong on your face instead of back in the package! This has to be the best laid out video I have seen for putting them on with the cutting hack. I also plan to try one of the replies for applying the whole bottom lash on first and then sliding the top lash down to connect. Either way, I'm not giving up just yet. I would really like to make these work and not have to deal with the regular fake lashes and all the glue and possible mess that may come with that for me personally. Thank you ladies for the very helpful tips!

i recently got magnetic lashes and was struggling with them.. mine come with an applicator but the lashes still dont go in the right place on my lashes. i think your idea of cutting them up is a great idea and i will attempt to try it!

I bought them online cheap.You can put upper & lower lash on end of tweezers apply to lashes with your in in-between & pinch tweezers together.Ive been wearing regular lashes for 25 years.Im sticking with the glue on that I get online cheap.I cut a full lash into 4 pieces & glue on then apply another 4 pieces on top of that.Trust me this works & does not fall off.
Great tip! I also trimmed the fullness of the lashes bc they are very thick since it’s essentially two pairs of falsies on one eye. 👍👍👍👍
Omg I’m interested in how you did this... snipped longway in toward the band? I feel like my double wispies are too full!
I used tiny eyebrow scissors and cut in at an angle (perpendicular to the band - not parallel to it). Similar to what a hair dresser does when they give you layers in your hair. You could also just cut off every other lash in an even pattern. The biggest is not to cut parallel to the band on just the ends, as you’ll end up with blunt ends like a bad mom hair cut 😂

I enjoyed watching this lesson. You lashes looked FABULOUS once you got them on the right way! I bought the original ones that came out years ago for $70 and was NEVER able to get them on because I am HORRIBLE at applying lashes. I will try these and the hack hopefully they will work for me I just LOVE the look!!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

You are a beautiful and sweet young lady... and you did a much better job applying the magnetic lashes than I (probably) ever will... But, when the camera zoomed in on your finished eyes...I could still see some gaps, especially at the inner corners (of the top lashes) ... I know you will master applying them one day soon... I will be 73-years-old in June of 2020, My profile pic was made two years ago, at my first "Great-Grandson's Birthday party... You can see in the pic how I would like my lashes to fan-out more especially at the outer corners... I'm going to learn to use magnetic lashes if it kills me!!!! ... I have always had long thick natural eyelashes...But, I don't like using mascara (I've got Estee Lauder, Lancome, and drugstore brands) and, they all seen to want to clump my lashes together, something like 'spider-webs... Which I hate! ... I love the smooth "Minky-look" of false lashes. Thank you for making this video and proving to me that practice makes perfect! :)
Wish me luck, but most of all "patience" (patience has never been one of my virtues!) ... This weekend... I plan to try magnetic lashes for the first time!

An easier way to put the bottom ones on where you have more control instead of them just snapping right away, instead of going directly towards your eye level, take the lash and go with an upwards motion like where the magnet is faced towards the ceiling. It’s so much easier😊 hope this helps you and makes it a lot easier. But yes cutting them is wayyyyyyy easier then trying to put the whole strip on.

Looks so easy when you do it and it's a great hack! However, I don't have any top lashes except for a few and I'm not kidding. This is due to thyroid issues so while I would love to try these I think will have to stick to regular falsies but do love your idea and video.
I wonder.... my hair fell out... or started falling out due to trauma.... one year ago today.... my photography studio was burglarized and while I was standing in it bawling, one of the guys came back in on me.... anyhow... not trying to get off into all that heartache but my hair started falling out in clumps... eyelashes too... from stress. It was a nightmare for several months, as the remaining thug group started calling my house and attempting to finish the rest of the robbery. Anyhow... I bought a $29 eyelash serum on amazon that you apply every night.. and I swear it’s made a drastic difference... it might work for you!
Dena Strban What's the name of the serum? I've been using the Boots No. 7 Fanomenal Lash Serum but haven't noticed much of a difference.

Fortunately, I do have very thick hair but my crowning glory disappeared. I finally did get healthy a year later and it grew back in. I has to cut it when the new hair got to shoulder length because it looked ridiculous. I have a purple pixie cut now many years later. Hang in there. Trauma never goes away but you do heal.

I am glad you are healthy now.. it's silly..or seems silly that my hair falling out bothered me so much, with everything I was going through last year.. but it DID. I am glad you can relate. OK... so the serum is called Lavish Lash. I am trying to get a video review together on it soon... I started it two months ago and Valentine's was the day I had planned to review it.. but I realized that I had actually only applied it about half the time.. so now I am trying to be diligent in my application for the next week, just to get it a fair review. But... I SWEAR it's made a difference already!
