I think we would love to see you build one of these from the ground up, starting from the basic pencil construction, however many videos it takes.
andres rey second this idea
Third this
@@Mr.Jedediah so do I.
Yeesss
He did an exclusive video for kickstarter backers where he shows his starting process..light,simple pencil underdrawing which he erases before going to ballpoint pen.
I love how you say it's a simple layering process. You make it look way to easy Frank. Your a awesome artist.
Also
“Always remember to clean your tip” 😂
A meme to outdo even Bob Ross’s best! 😃
yeah, having a pen leave a drop of ink somewhere that it doesn't belong is irritating.
I went to a ball point art show and walked away with numerous ideas. One was most surprising.
By the omnissiah, Frank Cho has a UA-cam Channel o.O?

Who says comic book artist are not real artists? Brilliant work Mr Cho!
Glad to have found this channel. You are a very groovy artist, Mr Cho!
I do love your style Mr Cho its an epitome of basics and fundamentals
Frank cho sigma🗿🍷
watching this has given me a little more direction with cross hatching. something i picked up, some artists use a variety of pens on one rendering. for me i seem to prefer the bic being used here, and also zebra f series pens. on the zebra, it can be useful for easily producing the lighter tones as it is designed for Japanese writing and produces thinner lines. it can be frustrating though if you want bold dark tones as you'll have to bare down harder. currently I've been sticking to bic for whole rendering but it tends to need more frequent cleaning as it globs a tad more.
The most underrated tool for drawing!...but...
...producing the most beautiful result in the hand of an Artist!
Love the art you make!
Hope you'll keep the channel going with more in depth tutorials.
Subscribed on the spot!🖊,

The italian publication of your amazing Liberty Meadows is a sort of relic for me.

Thanks for the vid helped me understand more of what you do to get those killer gradients in black and white
Great! You have your own channel!
Always loved your girls. Now you crosshatching em. *What a time to be alive*
Awesome ! Thank you for sharing
Excellent work. Bravo!

Its just not fair............. Glad to have met you a few years ago at megacon I just wish some of your magic had rubbed off on me :)
Yoo great a silly look
have not heard Hooked on Classics in a hundred years. nice vid, thanks for posting.
Heard it in the background and my mind just froze for a moment. As a kid I wore that tape out, but it's been like 30 years since I last listened to it. Blows my mind to know Frank Cho listens to the same band-geek stuff I did.
thank you Mr Cho!
Dope dope dope.
Would be very interested to hear in a future video how you minimize the ballpoint globs and get by with cleaning the tip so infrequently.
Brilliant. Share even longer ones.
I love tour art 😍 my master
I will give it a try with a ballpoint pen.
Amazing
Loved your work. Read a lot of your comics in Sweden.
wonderful
Between you, Mark Crilley, Jim Lee, Todd Nauck and Richard Friend, there’s some exceptional pro comicbook artist UA-cam channels nowadays. I’d mention EVS but he does more ranting about Star Wars or Cap Marvel nowadays rather than actually drawing online! 😃
Master
Frank, I love your work! Are you creating these images with a live model or reference that you've shot?
I always thought that only the red (drapery, hair) was with ball point and the body was pencil?! :O
edit: love the classical music in the background \m/
Finally you!
Oh wow, the UA-cam compression does a weird thing when you're making the lines. It's sort of hypnotic.
I cover my tests with cross hatched drawings, mainly Ghost Rider. If I were to draw the girls I normally draw, man I would be in so much trouble haha.
Hope you get inspiration from my multi realistic stamp art and hello from JAPAN!!!
Bro just tell them you're a comic vet who wants to produce educational vids. They'll give you all the time you need. Jim Lee streams for 5 hours.
Have you tried a Caran d'ache 825? I find that i doesn't build up dirt on the tip, to the same degree as other pens.
Thank you Frank! I had a problem, I ended up with "hairy" legs in my drawing, any suggestion on how to correct this? I have even thought of masking up the drawing... You are the best!
that means that your crosshatching lines aren't straight enough they must aligned im a way one to the other and also son of them can end up shorter than the others
Frank, this has been a question that plagues me. Can ballpoint pen artwork be done on acid-free archive paper and varnished should an artist want to sell this kind of artwork?
What you suggest in learning the anatomy? I've tried to sit and learn the anatomy and I get bored with it really fast and end up walking away from the learning process of it, even when I know how much help it's going to give me in the long run.
Get to post longer clips - ua-cam.com/video/eYYhRPzDCwc/v-deo.html
Do you use any refernces when you are doing this? Or any of your comic babes and guys?
Frank, I think you should have the option to upload longer videos. I mean, if *_I,_* random internet person with hardly any video in his channel had, you should have as well...
Frank cho learned this technique from an epson printer
mr Cho drawing cuchis
Remember to always clean the tip. Lol that’s what she said.
Are u self taught artist or well formed
Standard Bic Crystal pens bleed less.
I think that you should teach in parts more hard for example the face.
Why ink. Why ball point. Why a single manner
Frank makes this look easy. It's really not. I tried this technique and it turned out a mess lol
Why androgynous looking figure(s) ?
Is there a reason why you only draw white women?
I’ve scoured through your work and not one of your pieces depict women of color. Why is that? I mean not even Spanish women. Nor Asian or Black Women.
