Absolutely stunning work! If you did 4 premolar extraction, would you think this case was finished before the 2 1/2 years mark? Still amazed how much retraction of incisors you were able without extraction!

Thank you for your comment. Great question. Based on my experience probably same time frame as non exo. I find in people of African descent it’s better to not extract and maintain some incisor protrusion as it’s their norm.

@@bossortho hello, are all extractions and retraction for bimaxillary protrusion done the same? do they like control how much is to be retracted? or is it simply extract and retract however in order to close the gaps?

@@whatislife142 great question. We can control how much we retract. Sometime we will move posterior teeth forwards as well. It depends on many factors.

@@bossortho does it also have an effect on jaw position? im a 22 yr old male. i dont want extractions to set back my mandible or jaw. i hjave bimaxillary protrusion btw, probably mild to moderate

Why doesn't anyone do ipr to premolars or molars I've never seen it done. Does it not work?

I’d say it’s more technique sensitive and could cause open contacts more easily. Posterior teeth have convex contacts compared to incisors that are more flat.
