I wish the door install video showed more of the doors being installed. 😂 I'm interested in knowing more about how the Stryker was mounted and some of the other mounting positions
The instructions are straightforward and it's not a hard job. You just have to make adjustments to align doors to shut nicely. The video would of been to long if I filmed the whole install.
I tried to do business with Fortress 2 separate times. They didn’t have a dealer in my area the first time and wanted almost $190 for shipping alone... Then they found a dealer when I called again about 3 months later who was about 2 hours from me who wanted full retail for the doors, over $1000 after taxes. I obviously went with a different company and saved $300 for about the same thing. I would go with Polaris doors before I’d pay what fortress wanted at that time. I’m not saying they aren’t a great door, I would have rather bought them to be honest, but I was not impressed with the company’s customer service. Like I said, this was my experience and they may have gotten some things in order. They look great and thanks for the video.
Thanks! I didnt deal with Fortress personally. I talked to the dealer who gets the doors from them Team Mancuso. I ordered and received them in 4 days with no issues.
UTV DIRT that’s great! Glad your experience was better than mine. I got the dragonfire doors on sale and delivered to my door for $699. Couldn’t pass it up. They aren’t as nice as the fortress, but I have a decal to put on them to help break up the doors plain look. Thanks again! Ride on!
@@jkrizman how do you like your dragonfire doors? Looks like a year since this comment. I am looking for doors now and I’m just trying to weigh my options.
I have worked on one door drivers side for about 2 hours trying to make it fit closer in the back groove of the rail , but that is where the have installed hinge bracket , I can still put four fingers in the gap in that area, The seal ? there is none these doors do not come with a seal just metal edge protector.also they are not removable only if you loosen all your adjustments that take a long time to tweak will they come off , looks good on the out side, but if you want weather and dust protection I would go with factory doors , The only reason I am not trying to send back is the shipping was 300 hundred on a large pallet lift gate required big pain to re crate
Just got my doors and have spent hours trying to get them installed. They don’t fit my 2018 ranger xp 1000. There is not enough adjustment available in the hinge brackets to get the door to fit for me. I am really disappointed and frustrated. This “install video” skips the biggest parts of the install....
2019 Ranger xp1000. I have the same issues and was wondering if it was just me. I don't understand (the logic) why, from the factory, the do not have the bubble seal along the entire length of the latch side of door. It makes zero sense. on the latch side, they use two short pieces, one on top edge of panel (latch side) and one on bottom edge of the bottom panel (latch side) and skip the edge of the larger middle panel?????????? I also have problems with the weather stripping not touching the machine to make the seal. There is a long portion of seal that doesn't seal or touch the machine to create a seal along the bottom and hinge side. The hinge side needs to move in, towards center of machine to bring the seal closer to the machine so that it touches the machine to create a seal. You can only adjust the door up and down, not tilt in or out (left / right). And I am thinking that it would be nice to be able to lift door off hinges, or to have that option. They still move when secured to hinge, it's not like they are tight or solid, they just sit on a pin. When you are working, hoping in and out, it's nice to not have to deal with a door.
Yes if you go on my channel home page you can click on the about tab. Then you will see my email tab. I tried to put it on this reply but it is not showing up. Thanks
what a nice door the best ive seen why did you leave a link from the perry company when we cant buy from them?? I cant find a dealer anywhere in my area they should make them available through an aftermarket company like rocky mountain or side by side stuff so we can get our hands on them
I left a link for the Perry company because that's who makes the doors. I also put in the description what dealer I got them from so you could give them a call. They shipped the doors from Texas to Ohio for me. I'm not sure why they don't have the doors available through rocky mountain or side by side stuff. Thanks for watching!
Now that you have had these for over a year, how much would you say they help with keeping dust out of the cab? Do the seals actually work? Thanks for the great videos!
They are not a air type seal to keep dust out. I bought them to keep the mud and other debris out of the interior of the unit. Also, I had vents in my front windshield and that helped with the dust in the cab.I think the only way to keep dust out is if you buy a full door and have the cab fully enclosed. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
Morning! No doors yet, expected today! Does the plastic piece taken off on the passenger side get re-installed after the doors get put on? Thanks just getting prepared for installing!
No you do not re-install the plastic piece. The instructions that come with the doors are real detailed and help out a lot. Just make sure you take your time when installing and it helps if you have a buddy that can help when you are adjusting the door alignments. It makes the job a lot easier.
I live in northwest Ohio and I would like to purchase a set of those doors. Any idea where I can get them at? I have left multiple emails with the Perry company and they have not responded. Any help would be appreciated, love your videos!!
I have followed your XP 1000 build closely as I just bought a XP 1000 Crew. I'm very interested in your experience with doors. I saw some videos and read some peoples comments elsewhere that talked about dust and debris blowing up and in worse with solid doors than with out. Have you experienced anything like this?
I have not experienced any dust or debris blowing up in the cab with my half doors. They have actually helped with debris coming in the unit. Especially after a muddy trail ride i had hardly any mud inside the unit. I have heard people having issues with the full doors with dust coming inside the unit especially in the hot summer months. I plan on getting a half windshield for the summer months and a full windshield for winter. I think that makes a difference depending on were you live. I will know more once i add my windshield and rear cab windshield. Hope this helped you. Thanks for watching!
@@UTVDIRT Thanks! Yes, please keep us posted. There are a lot of XP 1000 owners following you I think. I had a 2016 single cab Ranger and the side screens on it weren't real bad. I do not particularly like the ones on my 2019 though.
just bought these for my 2020 crew very dissapointed they do not fit well at all in the factory groves arounnd the doors i can put my fingers in almost all the way around bought them to keep some dust out , not going to happen should have gone the extra money for polaris doors, I can make them better but will have to remake door brackets to hold the doors to the groves in the frame as it is now the seal around the doors are useless, if you can weld and grind you can make them fit
UTV DIRT The doors look awesome. I have a 2019 Ranger XP 1000 Crew and love watching all the accessories you install. With the exception of the bracket lift, I have installed everything that you have done to your machine and appreciate all your tips, product reviews and info. I bought OEM, front doors (half doors) with the color matching panels ($1800+ with shipping to Hawaii) until I could afford the rear doors. Little did I know, you need the brackets from the rear doors to install the fronts so I complained to Polaris that it never said that on their website so they sold me the rear doors at half price and free shipping. Keep the videos coming! Oh, and that Gilomen ECU and clutch kit turned my 6 seater into a BEAST! Mahalo and Aloha!
@@LAIE472 Nice! These Polaris Rangers are awesome units and the gilomen tune and clutch kit really wakes them up. I'm glad Polaris stepped up and made it right for you on the doors. More videos on the way! Thanks for watching.
I also noticed in your install you left out a lot of the adjusting info on this install video please next time you promote a product let us see the whole install along with problems you encounter dont edit out the problems with a product just to make it look good, All in all I still dont like the doors they dont fit in the groove at all and no seal around metal edge of the door, why doors if dont seal??

I bought them to keep mud and debris out of the interior of the unit. Also if I showed the whole process the video would be 4 hours long and people dont want to watch a video that long.
