Hi mate - great to see u in an 8y. Your videos helped convince me that I need a 5 pot audi in my life. Previously had trusty tuned GTI Pirelli. Considered an M2 but the 5pot sound is where its at. Got my RS3 new a year ago (me in australia) -I went for kyalami sedan with cf pack, sunroof, design pack + blacked out. absolutely loving it every day. Just purchased the same spec, same colour down under here in NZ a month ago! Unfortunately we only get the hatch back here! No sedans in the 8Y available. I also upgraded from a Nardo 8v. Very happy so far with the upgrade. You would love our country roads just made for the RS3 😎

You can change the RS runway display in the settings! I changed mine to the boomerang type for all driving modes including the RS performance mode.

Although I think the 8V gen 1 looked better and has more character.
Your passion for the platform is contagious! This channel is one of the reasons I bought my 7.5 GTI, and probably the reason I will try to get my hands on this platform before they go extinct.

Character is subjective, the 8Y drives the rear wheels MUCH better and is much faster on track...period!

You can set performance and then go to the other virtual cockpits in the settings. I do it all the time.
That steering wheel is HORRENDOUS. There was nothing wrong with the previous gen. I know you can get it on the carbon pack but it should just be standard on all models. The rest of the car is nice.
It’s all the driving sensors that are in it but the flat bottom looks so much better.

I honestly regret even getting tech package, fully stripped down would be how I did it again. With parts shortages, I don’t even get the heated wheel. Or home link. I hate all the sensors, you listen more to car than the radio, now I just wish I had a flat bottomed wheel with a round center airbag

@@AllstarSHNo, it’s due to the sensors for drive assist. That’s why drive assist versions has this wheel, and non drive assist (non adaptive cruise) have flat bottom.

FINALLY someone who agrees with me on the drive train slop on the RS3! I sold mine because it was so bad. It literally felt like it had a broken engine mount. I do a lot of town driving and its HORRID. I am sure in due course someone will iron that out, but for now its just a massive problem for me. Yes show it a B road in RS modes its great and sharp but we dont spend much time driving like that its more like 10% of the time.
Yeah it’s definitely a bad point when driving locally, combined with the lag in the more ‘regular’ modes. Gonna try out a few aftermarket options to see if there’s a remedy. But agreed shouldn’t be a problem to begin with.

You can change the display even is rs modes, just have to disable the stuff to change from stock display when you get into rs mode

Agree about the drivetrain slop, very noticeable compared to the 8V. I notice it more now I have more miles on the car. 😕

Very cool car mate! I saw another video where a guy does some crazy powerslides with his and he claims he was in dynamic mode and not in drift mode. Have you tried that? The video is called „RS3 8Y onboard POV Soundcheck“ and it‘s amazing really. Maybe the coolest 8y video so far.
Yes seen that video it’s awesome! And from what I’ve read on Audis technical document it says dynamic allows for more rear biased driving than performance mode (excluding drift/torque rear mode) so probably was dynamic!

There are settings (I think in the general menu) where you also can change speedo eg the runway (performance) to any other option. Changed that in the first week, so forgot where it was.
Ah nice I’ll check it out, that would be good 👌🏼 So used to 8V where you could change views in the VC itself through steering wheel buttons.
3 options, a child would know how to change them. I switch between the two round dials and the hockey stick all the time. Lets you do it whilst driving. My TTRS, you had to be stationary to change the view. Also customise what else appears around the display as well. Amazing how many people don't know you can change so much in each view.

Hello Hamza. I hope your well bro. I purchased a audi rs3 8y today with 15k on the clock hpi clear. I have a problem with it and im reaching out for help. Basically when i put the ignition on a fault comes on saying “ Drive system Malfunction”. Im not sure what the problem really is. The car drives fine and yes i did notice that feeling of the drivetrain just like you did which is a bit annoying. Is there any reason as to why it has come out, please get back to me! Im stressed out 😭

Fellow 8Y owner here. When these cars are warm, if you give it throttle as the car is starting up you get some serious pops and bangs from it.

@@TRHamza no worries mate. It will do it in any mode, but from a cold start you get the best sound in performance. Enjoy.
I have RS3 carbon sportback 8y with the AUDI sports exhaust, came with the RS pack and carbon ceramics on my car. You are seriously bullshitting mate. Pops and bangs - come on. It'll spit out a little cough and a pop if you rev it after re-starting the engine shortly after being driven, but that's it. My mates 2018 S3 with a stock exhaust sounds better.

My TTRS has Bilstein B16 adjustable coilovers and eibach front and rear arbs with lightweight wheels .Also its been set up by string theory in the UK plus its 100kg lighter than the RS3 so i think its more than a match don’t you? Not sure why you’re so wound up? I love both cars

I remember ordering this car carbon black with the flat bottom wheel 2 years ago. ended up cancelling it as ordered 9 months before with no build date. Also I sat in it and was disappointed with the interior to the a45s just felt very cheap and boring. Engine is what you pay for I guess love the 5 cyl.
I had an AMG A45s. How on earth can you say that. The RS3 has a much better interior. My missis hated the Merc, kept moaning about the big iPad and the rattles... no such issues with my new RS3 and it feels so much more premium. The only gripe is the B&O, which is pants. Else, handles better, brakes better, is faster, looks a lot better and of course sounds better than the Merc. End of.

You have a long wait. They haven't even got the mid life facelift out yet, which has almost zero changes to the interior. By the way, I own one of these and the interior is excellent. People like you need to actually look at the car and stop basing opinion on UA-cam videos. I had an A45s owner come over and look at my RS at a petrol station - said he considered one, but put off by interior - saw mine, oh shit he says, that's actually really nice. Enough said.

Not sure what is going on with your cockpit display but in both performance modes I can switch between all 3 displays
Some cars have software bugs. Mine had problems, had to go back for an update to fix. I'd start the car and it would randomly select all sorts of different modes. Sometimes, would not even let me select performance and failed to remember individual settings. That was from delivery, all fixed with the software update Audi did on the car.
Beautiful and effective but it doesnt have the character of the Daza!

At the moment DAZA is still the best for tuning bro, can’t even tune the box on these yet. But from what I’ve seen on Iroz page on their development 8Y they reckon the 8Y platform will be faster eventually due to chassis upgrades. The space for a much bigger tyre up front is one example.
@@TRHamza But the thing that DAZA was front wheel drive biased (less drivetrain loss than the pure quattro) isn’t it the biggest factor why DAZA cars were insane fast at the top end? Or the new drivetrain system you think its going to be even better?
