I am new to watercolor painting. I am SO glad I found your channel! Your tutorials are so helpful and I enjoy watching them. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent!
Lovely! I’ve used liquid frisket to mask out areas in paintings and I’ll bet that would work here for curved letters or calligraphic letters, too. Great video!
Fun lesson! Thank God my husband & I are both F! Had to put my paints in the fridge, as it's SO hot here, they all spilled (no loss of paint) out in their wells. That is CRAZY! Plan to catch up with many tutorials when we return in Sept. No room for art supplies. BIG bummer! Madhukv below got it right in his comment. Anyway, happy summer everyone & many thanks again, Emma, for all of the gifts you so sweetly give us each & every week.
Oh Emma! I just love this. It’s really perfect. I wish I didn’t have curved letters because I love the crisp lines you get with tape. Someone here suggested liquid friskit and I’m going to try that. ❤️
Hi Emma 👋 congratulations Emma, what a wonderful idea loved it so pretty thank you so much for sharing 👍 ☺️ I would love to see you do more in different letters have a nice week Lin in South Wales uk 🦋 💞
I love it! I will try do that for my daughter. Im lucky her name start with E, so i think its easy for 'taping' :D i really love your talent :) kisses from Poland 🌷
I love doing these but I can never find a letter example to put on a lightbox to trace. Does anyone have any ideas of how to find nice looking letters in different fonts to use to trace? I have no idea where to find any and I'm terrible at trying to draw them freehand. Taping doesn't work for me because no matter what kind of tape I use, no matter what kind of expensive paper I use, I always rip the paper somewhere. Love your work. I really enjoy watching your videos!
Stick the tape to your sleeve first. That removes some of the sticky. You can find lots of fonts that come with your computer. Resize it and then print and trace. www.dafont.com also has nice ones to download.
@@marciec6859 Thank you Marcie for your helpful comment. I have tried removing some of the sticky and I have also tried paper tape, but I then fear the paint will get underneath the tape. I just need to keep practicing more with different tapes, I guess. I forgot all about that font website! Now I just have to see if I can handle using it. I am not the most computer literate at my advanced age.....but I will try again. I appreciate your help!!! Kandi
I happened upon your channel a few months ago. While you are very talented and obviously very good at watercolor, I can’t help that notice a lot of your work is incredibly similar to Sarah’s from Let’s Make Art or Dana’s from Wonder Forest. It is absolutely okay to take inspiration from others, but I would maybe at least mention it if you did. Please don’t take this as a rude comment, but there are so many videos so similar to theirs that I couldn’t help but notice!
Simply Jess when artists create videos on seasonal and relevant subjects, you’re bound to get some over lapping with other channels. If I took inspiration from any other artist I would most definitely give them credit. In these cases, it was purely coincidence.
