For me, the biggest benefit of the patio washer which isn't mentioned in the video is that it is much 'much' cleaner than using the wand which sprays all of the muck and dirt it's cleaning up onto anything and everything within 3 metres, including you, doors, windows, patio doors et al! The patio cleaner attachment keeps all the dirt and grime underneath the round cover and just lets it dissipate in a controlled fashion. By the time you finish cleaning patio slabs or a deck with the wand, you need to use it on yourself to clean you! With the patio cleaner I use it in my flip flops and shorts and hardly any clean up required. For me, that's worth the price alone!
So I've only used this pressure washer one time. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP The one time I used it, it worked great. I recently had new siding installed but kept the old gutters and small areas surrounding my house that weren't replaced so they looked horrible and dirty because of the new siding. I needed to get it cleaned asap. When I used the pressure washer, man it just melted all the dirt and grime that was on those areas of my house. I used that krud kutter soap and it was over after that. Easy to assemble, feels durable, very simple to use. Also, I purchased a used one to save money and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I want to get more use out of it so I think I'll be washing the cars and update this comment as time goes on.
I've had mine years and it's never let me down. Used once/twice a year for cleaning our patio and it does the job nicely. Wet the slabs and put some cheap bleach on it and spread the bleach. The next day use the T'Race and it does a cracking job.
I just replaced my very old Karcher (about 10 years old and still working ok), with a new K4 car and home model. It came with one of the round yellow swirling thingies, that attach to the Lance for cleaning patios etc… I specifically got this for doing my block paved driveway, which I constructed myself and finished 5 years ago… it has not been cleaned since then and looking a bit grubby… First I weed killed a week ago, the day before power cleaning, in got down on knees and scraped all the joints free of moss where it had grown in some areas, removed dead weeds, and swept it off… I then used the swirly device attached t8 the Lance on high power, and I must say, it did a pretty good job… I found the best method of use was to cover areas in straight lines back and forth fairly slowly several times working roughly a square metre at a time…. My driveway has a slight incline so this helped clear a lot of the dirty water into the driveway drainage… on completion in ‘water swept’ the driveway using the other Lance I got in the set, with an adjustable power setting, using the setting just slightly below full power, and this washed off the remaining dirty water and sand that come out of the joints of the block paving…I washed it all into the driveway drainage channel which I would clean the next day… after it started to dry out you could immediately see the difference, it looked almost like new… so the next day, as it had been warm and sunny, I re-sanded the drive by sweeping small amounts of sand over the block paving and into all the joints affected by the power wash, and lastly, cleaned out the driveway drainage channels and catch trough…it now looks like it did shortly after it was completed 5 years ago, so I’m very pleased with the Karcher ‘swirly thing’ and would recommend it for drives and patio cleaning…it’s helps get the job done without blasting dirt and grit everywhere…and does a good job of used at full power, and at a fairly even speed…👍🏻
Nice video! I find the patio cleaner is worse than the standard attachment too. Where I find it does work best is in on my concrete garage floor because the cleaner keeps the water spray to a minimum, which is great for not splashing the walls or my electrical sockets.
Agree! Better to go with wand. I would say surface cleaner is only good as a refresher or a “touch up” tool and it should be advertised as such. It doesn’t create massive muck.
You're halving the pressure with the patio head since it has two spray tips, HOWEVER, if you don't let the patio get to black in the first place it's a great tool to keep things clean and it's very quick. Even works on outdoor furniture.
That’s odd you found the patio cleaner head hard to move around.. I’ve just tried my new K5 with the same attachment head and it was super easy to move, it glided over the surface like a hovercraft and cleaned my patio as well as the lance.
I bought the k2 and the patio cleaner that came with it did wonders on the concrete back yard and cleaned thoroughly without using foam, considering this was published in 2020 and karcher model is different I can’t understand why the patio cleaner did worse that the wand
Laid concrete doesn't need as much pressure to clean as the pavers he showed. I presume the patio cleaner does not clean as well as the lance because the pressure is lower in the patio cleaner as it has two spray heads rather than the one on the lance but then the advantage of the patio cleaner is that it stops spray back 🤷🏻♂️
I have a Kärcher like the one you used in this video, and I’m not impressed with the patio cleaning attachment either. My “patented” cleaning method for such issues is to use a product which is used to disinfect/clean swimming pools. It contains sodium hypochlorite which whacks black algae, as shown in your video, out of the stadium within minutes. Then a simple water hose does the rest after about ten minutes. Sodium hypochlorite concentrate for swimming pools does a great job in killing weeds on pathways too, but it will kill off your plants and grass too, if you spray it onto them. Also, you need to wear protective clothing and gloves, as it is not pleasant in your eyes or on your skin, and it will bleach your clothing too, at the drop of a hat. However, when used carefully, the results are highly impressive.
@@RomboutVersluijs I do not apply the “chlorine”, which in reality is sodium hypochlorite solution, with the pressure cleaner, it is simply sprayed onto the paving by using garden spray equipment which is used typically e.g. for spraying plants.
@@marymarshall759 I live in Austria, so I cannot tell you under which brand name it will be sold under in your country. During the bathing season it is sold in DIY stores here, and all year around in stores for swimming pool supplies. It is usually sold in 25kg canisters with an “active chlorine” content of ca 15%. It is usually sold under names like “liquid chlorine”. The important thing to check is if is an aqueous solution of sodium hypochlorite, which is usually the case. Hope this helps. Please use personal safety equipment, and old clothes, as it is basically concentrated bleach..
I've got an old Karcher K2 but i cannot use the patio cleaner that came with it. Reason is because the brush around the circular head gives too much resistance.Ok going backwards but pushing forward no.All very frustrating.
No offense meant, but you are using the product a little bit incorrectly.😅Your rocks need to be dry and its important that you start immediately with the mix mode. This allows the product to penetrate the stone.Wait a good 30 minutes. And let the product work. Then work with full force Lance or Ratio.Try it and let me know the difference.:) With kind intentions✌🏻 (Google translate)
Thanks really good real life review. Have been wondering if I should get one for all the moss. Now seems not worth it and some bleach and a brush with the standard high pressure head best
🚨 🚨 this man was not using the Patio cleaner attachment correctly. You don’t use it like a vacuum Cleaner you go up and down back-and-forth. You didn’t get a chance to work properly. Poor video video. I did my patio that was just as dirty with no additional liquid and it did a better job than that.
@@knewideas3860 yes might be quicker and for some areas which are well maintaned it will be fine if you need a quick go over but for penetration the lance is best
been using an old smaller and cheaper head discontinued now, far better and quicker on paving than the lance,,,, lance can get slightly more off but has to be used half an inch off of the slab with a spray thats only an inch wide so takes forever ,, try lifting for any wider than that and it does nothing ,,,, i need to get one for my Karcher but i fear all the never ones are a wider diameter and maybe wont work as good ,,,,,,,anybody compared the different sizes???
This is bull. Used to take me 7 hours to do my concrete driveway with the lance, 3 hours with the round head. Does just as good a job if you give it time to work.
@@henrybeneke3366 Thanks. I said the o-rings are hard to find, but they are actually impossible to find. The one that broke on mine is not a standard o-ring. I looked at every hardware and home supply store. I bought packs of o-rings. I called the manufacturer and they don't even know how to get them. They just order these from China and there is no remedy if they break. They will last a job or two at most unless the jobs are very small.
Mine does it much better , change nozzles inside patio cleaner to match machine , and the attachment will glide over the slabs , you didn’t have enough pressure and that’s why it failed ..
Inside the instruction manual bag there are 3 pairs of different colour nozzles , choose the pair which suits your patio cleaner , it’s more aggressive at cleaning..

Good video my friend. Trim off the excess blank footage at end though. Saved me from buying the patio attachment. I'll just use the turbo lance.
Thanks, not sure how I missed all that dead air. I’ll sort it out

Good to hear
The K4 with the T5 patio cleaner works great with or without the detergent, also a lot quicker than the lance only.
Same here… patio cleaner works better

The patio head cleans without damaging the stone, the standard head can split stones if not careful

Great video, just saved me £60. Won't be bothering with the patio cleaner !! Why there are 26 dislikes on this video is beyond me

probably because he put the patio cleaner on the wood stand instead of the stone stand. But that’s my opinion.

Thank you got the post, just saved me £90, glad I watched how it worked now.
Thanks for the short clear video. Wanted to know if it would be handier than the standard attachment so this will save me wasting like 90euro.
Two questions:
- Was the patio cleaner also at full power?
- Have you tried changing the little spraynozzleparts inside with different ones?

i believe the manual states not to use such liquids with the machine. Guess they are to agressive for the plastics

surely its best to put the detergent on the patio first and let it soak in and do the job properly
Thanks really good real life review. Have been wondering if I should get one for all the moss. Now seems not worth it and some bleach and a brush with the standard high pressure head best
To be fair, I do think this brush is a little bit quicker and less chance of being splattered by spray, but it's not any more effective.
Thanks. A very useful video. Decided to stick with the lance on its own after seeing this
Messy
Good comparo. I'll stick with the turbo head (dirt blaster) I bought for my K2.
I should each your review first… oh well, I already bought it, so let’s make the best of it.
You are using the patio wacher wrong, it works much better than just the pressure wacher , you blow out all the sand between the tiles too
With surfactants they need to sit for a while to break down matter before jet washing. You followed the instructions, hey?
But K7 does brilliant job with a patio attachment😉
Where can i buy the little white nozzle underneath the surface cleaner? one of the nozzle snapped & i need to buy a new one, cant find in any stores.
You don’t mention which country you’re in, but I’d try Karcher direct if you can’t find them.
Orf take the time saved and drink a cuba libre on teh sunchair. Or something :)
Of the first two you did, the addition of detergent didn't seem to give any better result than plain water?
Yes, you’re right there was not much difference at all. Hardly worth the extra money and effort!
Thanks for posting. I’ll just stick with the normal lance

It might just be just the way this is filmed but the lance didnt look powerful at all. My K2 cleans much faster than that with the lance 😮
