Thookkam at Pallathamkulangara Bhagavathi Temple

"Thookkam" is one of the most celebrated rituals observed on Kumba- Bharani day at Pallathamkulangara Bhagavathi Temple, situated at Kuzhuppilly Village, Vypeen Island, 19kms away from Kochi City.
Generally, "Thookkam" are of 3 kinds i.e."Aal Thookkam", "Garudan Thookkam" & "Mayilpeely Thookkam". Here “Aal Thookkam” is performed in Kumba-Bharani day at about 5.30 pm.
Pallathamkulangara Bhagavathi Temple is one of the ancient temples in Kerala. The deity is "Parasakthi" (Mother Goddess) in the nature of "Durga Bhagavathi" in her full grandeurence.
