There's a happy, happy day a comin' When I lay my heavy burdens down I'll sing around the throne eternal As the saints all march around … There'll be glory when I meet the Saviour He's the one who died for me When I cross to the other side of Jordan Just beyond that crystal sea … When I cross to the other side of Jordan Just beyond that happy shore When I cross to the other side of Jordan To live forevermore There'll be glory in the morning For the day there comes no night When I cross to the other side of Jordan Where Jesus is the light … I'll have so many loved ones Who've made this trip I know Oh, how I long to see them As I journey here below! … To hear them tell of heaven And the streets all paved with gold When I cross to the other side of Jordan Hear the half that's never been told … When I cross to the other side of Jordan Just beyond that happy shore When I cross to the other side of Jordan To live forevermore There'll be glory in the morning For the day there comes no night When I cross to the other side of Jordan Where Jesus is the light
I had a little group and got to sing at the Gospel Quartet evening at the Church of the Open Door in high school! The Blackwood Brothers and the Statesmen were the big names...after the show, the bass singers got together with Hovie Lister (Statesmen) on piano and did a “How low can you go” contest...J. D. Sumner (Blackwood Bros) won by going two notes off the bottom of the keyboard...Big Chief Wetherington (Statesmen) came in 2nd...and I was 3rd!! Thing is, I had developed a contrabasso falsetto by drawing breath inward to sing...the Russian National Choir bass singers did this and I was fascinated and copied the effect...I can’t do it anymore because I kind of trashed my vocal chords for it...but it was fun!!
I cannot figure why there are dislikes on a gospel song about the Lord unless someone is just plain mean.
Le Rock'n'Roll et la Country m'ont amené là . Je ne pourrais jamais assez les remercier
Outstanding !!!!! Makes me stand up and shout Hallelujah Lord Jesus !!!!
The best version of this song I have heard since JD Sumner and the Stamps Quartet years ago. Truly a quartet classic.
I love this song by the Blackwood Brothers Quartet when I cross to the other side of Jordan wow

Great quartet!
There's a happy, happy day a comin'
When I lay my heavy burdens down
I'll sing around the throne eternal
As the saints all march around
… There'll be glory when I meet the Saviour
He's the one who died for me
When I cross to the other side of Jordan
Just beyond that crystal sea
… When I cross to the other side of Jordan
Just beyond that happy shore
When I cross to the other side of Jordan
To live forevermore
There'll be glory in the morning
For the day there comes no night
When I cross to the other side of Jordan
Where Jesus is the light
… I'll have so many loved ones
Who've made this trip I know
Oh, how I long to see them
As I journey here below!
… To hear them tell of heaven
And the streets all paved with gold
When I cross to the other side of Jordan
Hear the half that's never been told
… When I cross to the other side of Jordan
Just beyond that happy shore
When I cross to the other side of Jordan
To live forevermore
There'll be glory in the morning
For the day there comes no night
When I cross to the other side of Jordan
Where Jesus is the light
That was some great singing
