Been watching your videos for a couple months now while learning to use the Foodi 6.5, and we've loved everything we've made so far. Your instruction is so simple and well explained, and the results have been awesome! The rib eye with smashed potatoes is our favorite so far, and those potatoes have been made with many other things as well. They are SOO good! My wife has always been the cook in the house(not the best by her own admission), while I'm an OK cook for anything that comes out of a box LOL. BUT, I have done just about all of the cooking in the Foodi, so you've converted a non-cook. So much so, I knew I needed the oven too. The DT251 just got ordered on Amazon today, and I'll be looking forward to following your videos for the new toy. Not sure if anyone else has found this yet, but the DT251 if not even listed for sale on the Ninja site today(2-24-21), and the DT201 is listed as unavailable. I had looked earlier this week, and both were listed an available. Anyway, thanks again for teaching this non-cook to use the Foodi with your great videos!!
That is really good to hear!!! I'm glad to know I helped and you have enjoyed my videos...I love the oven and I feel sure you will too... can't wait to hear what you think of it...thanks again and thank you for watching!!!
I just ordered the DT201. I was gonna get the dual zone 10qt air fryer, but after watching your videos I decided the oven would be more useful in my kitchen replacing the toaster and air fryer along with being able to bake in it.
Well, I am certainly late to this video sadly. This video is brilliant. Let’s talk about the two versions and then there’s the eight and one that Wil mentioned from time to time lol. Having had an oven like this with the reheat button, you should never buy one of these without the reheat button. It is worth going to the 10 and one from V8 and one just to get reheat. It’s wonderful. Also, Amazon makes great thermometers that work in the oven that are wired that have a little box that sits on your counter. That saves you an amazing amount of money. You don’t get the smart stuff but for $18 you can see the temperature. That’s a good deal. Sidenote, just ordered the 201. Got it from the Amazon warehouse. Not used, like New, the box was damaged. $155, free shipping that’s like $120 off the MSRP. Fingers crossed.
I bought the one without the probe. After watching this, I wish I bought the one with a probe, but oh well. I got an amazing deal and was able to use a coupon on top of a sale so only paid $200 after tax. No complaints so far
I bought mine direct from ninja. Lastest model without the thermometer. No screen to mess with.. easier to clean. Comes with extra tray.. $239. special. Got it today. Works great.
Thank you very much because you baked a turkey in the ninja foodi xl, I decided to buy one for my mother, since she wants to ease up on oily stuff. I must say compare to the ninja power airfryer, this xl does not require oil to bake and I like that a lot. Yesterday my mom put some fish in, and man it was like it was actually frying. This will change the way we make food, from now on. Yes our turkey is going in there too.
Very good to hear...I honestly think this is perfect for many situations and I think a lot of people would agree after using it... thanks for sharing that and thank you for watching!!!
Yep, I leaned I need to wait for the next model as I plan to get an air frying toaster oven to replace an old halogen toaster oven but the hot top will be an issue due to where it sits above the microwave. Good informative video which answered one of the questions I had about the ninja ovens.
Thank you John. I have the DT201 after seeing you do a turkey in it and I could not be more pleased with it🤗 Since it let's you put a manual probe in (which I have) I feel I have the right oven. Sometimes extra features is just one more think that can break. Love your very informative videos🤗😘
The non splatter screen version I'm pretty sure works like my large wall convection oven. It doesn't need a splatter screen because the fan blows the hot convection air out and if you look on the back sides you will see there is on each side of the fan an opening and that is where the air goes back in to come out the fan and heat the oven. Just wipe clean the inside.
I have not actually saw the oven without the shield myself but I think they must have decided it didn't need it for what ever reason... but one less thing to clean and I'm good with that... the air on mine comes in the center and goes out the side openings...thanks for watching!!!
Hi John, First of all thank you for your informative reviews. You have helped me make informative decisions. Everyone kept telling me for years to buy a pressure cooker, I didn't use my slow cooker, but a couple of times a year and didn't think that I would use a pressure cooker, I was WRONG. After doing research and watching tons of youtube videos and yours was my deciding factor to buy one, let me take that back, I love my Ninja 8qt 10in1 pressure cooker/air fryer so much that I bought my daughter in law one (who's in love with it too). My husband saw a video of the Ninja toaster air fryer oven (the one that flips up) and thought it was a cool idea, I told him that I had a toaster oven and that I'd never use the flip up feature; it's impactable for me, because even if you flipped it up, you really can't use the space in front of it , then low and behold I came across this video...guess what I'm getting for Christmas? The Ninja Foodi Smart XL oven with temp probe. My poor kitchen stove rarely get used now that Ninja has taken over my kitchen. lol. Thanks again John!!!! Keep those great videos coming!!!
Thank you for the video. Both of them are very helpful. You are very thorough. I am excited to finally use the Ninja it has been in the garage for over a year. Much appreciated!
My Ninja Foodi XL Air Fryer. Today. I'm going to do an unboxing by the average Joe. Just like I've done with my RC Trucks. After I cook with it a bit, I'll cook something in it. Personally I feel the Ninja Foodi is better, it can do more like Dehydrate, which is a big deal if you like beef Jerky or dehydrated fruit.
Thank you for all of your great reviews. They will help me make the best choice on my next purchase. Instructional videos are good too. Thank you for all your time in making these informative instructional videos.
John, just received my DT251 from Amazon today, 1) they have a users guide solely on the DT251. 2) when registered it shows DT251 and finally 3) DOES NOT have a splatter shield, and does not have mounting holes for the clips. I have an 8 and 10 inch pizza screen coming we’ll see if one of those work and the number 3 and or number 4 rack should hold it in place no problem. Finally more recipes please.
You are going to love this oven... I'm a little worried about adding a screen... I plan to leave mine as is... most air fryers on the market do not have screens and I haven't had issues with any of mine that didn't... but... very glad to hear you got one and I can't wait to hear what you cook in it!!! Thanks for watching Kerry!!!
Thank you very much... that is some very good info for a lot of people and makes the ham i did possible in this oven but maybe not bread proofing etc... but glad to know and thanks again!!!
The two on the counter... either would do for what I need... the one on the tablet screen... or... the Walmart version does not have reheat or dehydrate and I assume it will not go below 200 degrees (but I have not confirmed that) and I do a couple of recipes I need to be at lower temps... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
One of them has the better fan for different settings and is the game cha ger. I couldn't tell which one . The Wal-Mart one? Or the DT 201?? I think the Walmart one is the DT200. I could be wrong. So which one has the better fan?
Have they changed it again since this video was created ? The control pannel on the DT251 from amazon looks different than yours... The controls are layed differently plus it's got a Target and an actual temp display shown on the amazon page..
I'm considering buying a new DT251 but need to know if Ninja resolved the interior rusting issue that plagued the DT200. In under 2 years mine is already saying "CUST SRV2" errors and randomly shuts off and takes 5-10 starts to work. Anybody know if they changed interior material to fix this?
They can be off but I have tested the one I have and it was very close but trying to get it in the best spot is a little tricky sometimes... thanks for watching!!!
Finally released the UK Variant (That’s what i’ll call it!) aka ‘DT200UK’ - Had to wait, at least, a year longer than you guys from across the pond - I’m torn! - Do I wait, who knows how long, for the DT201 & the ‘Smart’ versions you compare here? - Moreover, it doesn’t explicitly say XL anywhere on the imagery I’m looking at here on Ninja UK website - I ask because I’m also concerned whether or not the ‘Health Grill Plate & Pot’ (which I currently have in my basket) from the ‘AG301UK’ - because they’re smaller than from the ‘Max & Max Pro’ - will actually fit inside?! - Can you help/advise at all, please, Sir? Ps: Love your work! Rafael.
I just ordered the DT201 but received the DT200 (according to the back of the unit and the instruction manual). But it does have all 10 selections, not 8 as your video said. I ordered it direct from Ninja. I'm confused.
Watch the video I have linked below for the past about scanning the QR code... let me know if this helps please...thanks for watching!!! ua-cam.com/video/nxHC-I52iyY/v-deo.html
Just purchased my DT251 at the Military Exchange for $213.99, it was a special price they were running today, they only had 10 that they just brought out and they were going in 45 mins, one Jerk tried to take someones that they had setting in their cart.
I like the Breville and it served us well but this new ninja had really impressed me... so the Ninja is my favorite at this time...thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders Thank you for replying. Ive been undecided about which one I want. The Ninja or Breville. I think your video has helped me to decide which one will be a better fit. I was wondering however about the Ninja not having the proof feature. Do you think that a deal breaker ? I wanted to start baking more.
I don't really know a lot about proofing but as long as you get one of the versions with dehydrate I would think you could maybe use that... not sure though...
No...I meant to cover that in the video and I'm sorry I didn't... that is caused by my camera and it does not do that in person... or any time other that in this video...thanks for pointing that out and sorry I didn't address it... and thank you for watching!!!
John aka jelly 007 I wanted to compliment you on making great videos with helpful insight and knowledge you help me make a decision I recently received a 201 model from Amazon refurbished for $214 to my door, the unit looked brand new all the original accessory‘s were taped in there, keep up the great work!😷🍟🥩🍕
Hey Mr.Jelly. Not to change the subject on air frying toaster ovens.but Now that thanksgiving is coming on fast. When you gonna do a vid on deep frying a turkey? Be curious to see your process... just a thought...
I have considered a video and I may consider it...I do live a deep fried turkey and I have been doing them for years... I now have 3 ways I will be doing them this year for sure... deep Fried... green egg and now AIR FRIED!!! really excited to try them side by side... thanks for watching!!!
Very nicely done. So glad you did this video. So many are confused about how this oven actually works. I certainly was. I totally agree...I Love This Oven. So glad I have it. Now what do I do with all the other stuff I have :))
John I mentioned to you on another video (and he did reply!) about getting the model with the probe. I've done 2 different streaks on 2 occasions set at medium and they both came out perfect! Pretty sure you mentioned you figured they'd have this model and so I waited. Not disappointed at all! Planning to cook a whole chicken this weekend! It's nice to probe it (ha ha), set it and forget it! Thanks!
Glad to hear that about the steaks...I think air fried steaks are excellent!!! and it did make sense because they were doing it on other devices... this one makes even more sense to have the Probe than others due to the air roast function... but I had also saw it on one of their pages on ninja's website... but I do think it is a really good deal at $279 without the Probe just because of the results it produces... and comparing anything close to it in price... such as the Breville... thanks for watching!!!
Not in my opinion but please watch my other video that covers this I have linked below...thanks for watching!!! ua-cam.com/video/nxHC-I52iyY/v-deo.html
John, this ought to interest you, and also others who have or ordered the DT251, it’s listed on Ninjas Website, but with no description, and no price. The DT201 now costs $279. Now this should shock everyone, Amazon only has the DT251 available from 3 third party sellers, now are you sitting down? The price is $557.99. Very Interesting, and it looks like the Dt201 is now on preorder status.
The price is now $299 for the DT251, On Cyber Monday it was going for $199 on another site. This will give you some idea of the markup of these things.
Tom Clok, just checked and unfortunately Ninja site is posting it as not available right now. Now other outlets still may have some, that I don’t know.
This oven would be "Smart" if it had a setting for sourdough bread! Temps of 80--85 f for proofing would've been nice along with the baking part. Can you put the probe into the dough and have it shut off at 205???? Not everyone eats meat. I'm disappointed. Is there a countertop smart oven out there that does that? I'm in the market for one. If you know of any, please let me know. :-)
So does one need the dehydrate and reheat functions (the ones not part of the DT200 from Walmart)? I understand the functionality of a dehydrate option, but what is so special about a reheat function? Great review by the way! Thanks in advance.
I do like those functions because it allows lower temps that I have used before and I use the reheat option a good bit... glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!!!
Same thing as below. The ONLY one that doesn’t have the dehydrate and reheat is the Walmart 8in1 version (DT200). Hope this helps, the Walmart version is $79 cheaper so you have to decide if you’d use the dehydrate and reheat functions and how much it’s worth to you. Kevin🎗
I just bought the one with a thermometer and there is a big dent in the side and when I did cook a pizza it didn't even cook evenly. Half was burnt and the other half the cheese was barely cooked. I really love the oven and will try to get another to see if the problem goes. But if it does the same thing I will return it too. It makes me sad something so nice ends up having problems. You must of got the good ones haha
John, I am an 80 year old trying to learn to cook for myself… I watched the video with the smaller ninja using the skillet for steaks.. Are the larger Ninjas necessary for 1 person?
John. I bought the one on right in your video It is 50 degrees lower than reading. Love the seal on the door but food takes too long or I have to hike temp up. Is this as expected?
Hello I like your channel on the ninja website they have 3 different models of this ninja oven but wiich is the one that comes with everything or the best?
Nice! You can now cook a storm in both dt251 and dt201. I have the dt201 and was wondering if broiling the chicken drumsticks after airfrying would help giving the charred effect like the ninja XL grill does? Plz clarify as I am tempted to get the grill for kebabs.
Not sure about that but if you watch the video I have linked below you can see a cast iron skillet with ridges that I feel positive would do something very similar to what the grill plate in the grill does... hope this helps and thanks for watching.!!! ua-cam.com/video/tnUkUjyMb9g/v-deo.html
@@JohnSanders Thank you so much, I am a fab of lodge cast iron and have a similar one in lodge (I use it for panini sandwiches) but it doesn’t fit in the pro oven. The handle is too big. May be I will try on the stove.
Thank you for the information. All your videos are very educational. Hopefully one day I could afford to get one of these. I live in my rv and never use my oven. Something like this would finally get me to remove my old oven and put this in its place. Would really work for me. Don’t really need the probe. So I will probably just go with the 201 model. Thanks again.
Wow I didn't know there was three versions I bought mine online from Best Buy when they delivered it it was broken so I went back to Best Buy ask them if they price match because I saw them for $250 but when I scroll down I saw it in Walmart for 200 so they gave it to me for that price even though I had the better version at the time I didn't know there was three different versions and I'm sure Geek Squad didn't know as well
The white lettering is disappearing from my DT251. I had the 201 and that did not happen. I wanted to 251 to get the temperature proble. What do you suggest?
My Dt251 has not had that problem so I'm honestly not sure what the answer to this is...I would like to hear from others that have had this issue and hear if they know what caused it...
I'm not sure I know what to say... I've actually had 3 different ones and have cleaned the handle on all of them several times and have not had any issues at all...I even tried to remove them by scrubbing fairly hard with a abrasive pad... all mine are unharmed...I wonder if anyone has posted a video on this?
I do like the DT251 but no really good reason... especially if you have wireless thermometers... the DT201 does the same thing without a smart thermometer... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
Hi, thanks so much for taking the time to make this video. May I please ask, how are the three ovens different? I did watch the video, carefully actually, and I'm not understanding how they are different from each other in terms of fans (convection), heat source, wattage, size? Are they different sizes? How are the fans different? Do they all do convection the same way; so they all have just that rear fan? Are they all the same power- same wattage? Again, thanks so much.
Hello i love your videos , i was wondering what kind of Japanese knives you have to the left of ninja pro oven ? Curious are they sharp? Do they come with a sharpener?
They are Shun...I love them and they came with a sharpener with the set i bought... but yes... they are extremely sharp unlike anything I've ever had...thanks for watching!!!
i recently got the dt251 and it looks like its been slightly changed button locations are different and the thermometer buttons are dedicated by the thermometer plug in portion. i was confused and thought i got the wrong model looking at the reviews online of the dt251 but checked the box and its the same model slightly different button layout on the handle.
Hey, have you cleaned your crumb tray off on your DT201? I hand-washed all the accessories including the tray on my new oven prior to use and it rusted... was very surprised. Contacted them and they are replacing the entire unit, makes me wonder how common an issue it is. I think when I get the replacement I will run the "proof" cycle before cleaning the accessories off!
I have washed it many times... no rust at all... and also I did not run the curing process of 20 minutes at 450°... maybe others reading have heard of this...thanks for sharing your experience...
I just received my DT251 from Amazon. In watching your video you mention the splatter screen. Does your DT251 w/ thermometer have a splatter screen? My DT251 does not have a splatter screen. I previously had a DT200 which did have the splatter screen. There is no clip for the screen and no screen, I am wondering if they eliminated it recently or if this is an older unit and I should return.
@@JohnSanders I will do that. Interestingly the image on amazon does not show it having a splatter screen nor does the video for ninja on youtube showing how to use the thermometer.
This is all they have to say: Ninja Kitchen We would like to inform you that the DT251 does not have a splatter shield. It includes 2 sheet pans, 2 wire racks, air fry basket, roast tray, crumb tray, Foodi™ Smart Thermometer, and 15-recipe guide
So I'm looking at the DT251. I can get the DT201 on a great deal at Kohl's but wonder if the smart cook system is worth upgrading. Do you like it better than the DT201?
I do but there are thermometers on the market that might work out better depending on your particular situation... but nothing wrong with either of these ovens... just my opinion though...thanks for watching!!!
1st.. TY again on letting me know in your other video that the dimensions 17.5 X 20.5 x 13.5 inches... the 13.5 is how tall it is. I figure 17.5 is how wide and 20.5 is how deep.. plus at least another inch from the wall.... Anyway.. I was looking (look at title, not watched yet) at your next couple of videos and you still used the DT201 are you going to start using the smart oven DT251 for cooking videos? Any difference in performance other then the probe? We just got a Breville and thinking of returnming it (its unopened). Is the ninja foodi smart oven the best? I notice it doesn't say convection oven but it has a fan and can do 2 pizza's at once. I think we were unsure if we wanted a convection toaster oven. Thanks
Yes...Those are the approx dimensions and I like the Ninja because of the fan design that seems to do better at not getting grease splatter on the window among other reasons...I have linked a video of my comparison of the 2 ovens...thanks for watching!!! ua-cam.com/video/tnUkUjyMb9g/v-deo.html
I really like this...but it doesn’t appear to be available at Ninja and on Amazon, it’s only available from another source priced at 599.99...I’ll be waiting until they are more readily available....thx for sharing this with us...
I have have some discussions with Ninja. They told me the DT251 will not be available on their site. They reccomend Amazon for 299.00. Amazon has it but is currently out of Stock
@@stab8ler I guess it’s like every thing else that’s new and a big hit, they sell out quickly, so I guess I’ll wait a while for it to be sold in more places...thank you for the reply...
Hi John- I purchased the Amazon version. You mentioned a splatter, shield was that on the Amazon version? Mine doesn’t have one. Also, on the back sticker my model # says DT200 Series LP3, does yours say that also I was expecting it to say DT251. I’m wondering if I got a knock-off.
@makeme Rosie. I have the same issue. I ordered one of the Dt201, but my model says Dt200 and there is no splatter shield. i'm returing it. I'm gonna get the thermometer one instead
Update is that I read the back of the one I got from Amazon and it says it is a DT201... but when I scanned the QR code... or the bar code thing on the back it took me to ninja's website to the warranty page where I was able to register it and when the info that was automatically filled in for me it said it was a DT251 and it registered with no problems...I really think it is the fact that they are retrofitting other models to the DT251 by simply removing the handle and installing the one with the thermometer which would make sense as that is the only difference in the machines...I think the company... or people they have doing this upgrade either doesn't have new data tags or they just failed to replace them... either way I feel positive they are fine and are not knock offs... just upgraded to try and fill the market with their highest end option... anyhow...I hope this helps and would love to hear your thoughts on this theory...
@@JohnSanders I finally got my replacement back from Ninja - I had sent it in for the rusting crumb tray problem. My new DT201 came straight from them. It does not have a splatter guard either! The model number is the same, DT201 LP3. The serial number of my original one (with the shield) started with "S", and the new one starts with "U". So I can at least confirm the DT201's coming from Ninja now do not have the splatter shield for the fan (the mounting bolts etc. are not there at all - just flat metal around the fan holes.
@@joelskimaloski2461 If you look carefully on back you will see both the numbers of models. one has that phone symbol thingie next to it. They are newer models out and easier to clean. No screens to mess with. The price difference did not justify the convenience of a thermometer so I'm keeping the one I got a special on for $239 and extra bake rack. I just got mine today.
My wife and I are wanting to buy a ninja with all the features including dehydrate and reheat. Do you like you like your latest one you bought over your first one better? Thanks for making these videos. They are really informative.
The latest one I purchased was the new grill and I like it and will use it a good bit but I think traditional air fryers... or even one of these toasters if you need larger items is a better choice
How long it takes to air fry fresh made fries (2 full size) and how long to whole roast a 5lb chicken does it roast evenly without turning? Need to know compared to corosi or other air fryer oven.
Come on Jelly ,you got to wait for the one with the probe. That's cooking gadget buying 101. Just kidding. I know it's hard not to pull the buying trigger when a new product comes out that you really want. I bet you will make good use of both ovens. I really enjoy your videos!
@@JohnSanders I’m only referring to the air fry basket, not the oven itself. On the ninja website, the extra air fry basket that you can buy for the DT201 says it’s compatible with the DT200 and DT201 models, but doesn’t specify that it’s compatible with the DT251 model.
is it noisy? It doesn't seem like it from the videos. I have a little air fryer that I like but I want to be able to do a small turkey. Also, the one I have is noisy. I don't like being in the kitchen when it's on due to the noise. I'm planning on taking the one I have up to the lake and you've convinced me on the new Ninja. Just hope it's quiet.....
Maxx Air temps from 80 to 500 degrees. Times to 10 hours. Dehydrates, Proofs, Bakes, Air Fries, Sears, Reheats, Defrosts, Toasts, 21 functions in all. Please apply your budget to one of these and do a review. Kohl’s has it as low as $116 with discounts (what I paid). I have a Bravo XL and it’s nothing compared to the Maxx Air.
Hey Jelly 007! Great comparison vid (per usual) 👍 Already gave my thumbs up and ordered one based on your review. My question is the Pro oven without a dedicated temp probe (the D201), can you manually set the temperature for food just like the D251 in your video? Thx, in advance + keep reviewing (I need more recipes) 😃
It looks to me like DT200 SERIES means any model between 200 and 299, with the specific model labeled elsewhere on the unit (or if not, their bad). No idea what the LP3 means, though.
Mine took 15 minutes to get to 350F. It took waaaay too long to cook anything. They sent me a new one and it only took 10 minutes to get to 450F. There's an obvious difference with my replacement unit so far. I've only had it for a couple of days and made a few things in it, but thus far, it's much improved over my last one.
Hi John, On the DT201 can you use it with a wired thermometer where the wire is sticking out the door without effecting the function of the oven? It looks like the DT251 does just that except that probe plugs into the system. Also does the timer turn off on either one if you open the door to flip food in the middle of the cooking process? Thanks, Jeff
@@JohnSanders John, Thank you so much. So besides the SMART features such as shutting down when food reaches temperature, is there any other difference between the DT201 and DT251? Thank you, Jeff
Other reviewers absolutely rave about the Ninja Grill model with the thermometer. I’m sure the oven and thermometer would be all that and some. And it really has a magnificent temperature range down to 100 degrees. You’re looking at proofing bagels at that temperature. But like you said, anyone who already bought the lower model can get around that without replacing the whole thing. Countertop appliances have sure come a long way.

Bought the 201 after seeing your video. Love it and I’ve had the Breville and the Kalorik. Ninja is the BEST bar none!! Thanks for the videos
Thanks...I have never used the Kaori but this oven is really really nice... thank you for watching... and commenting!!!
Thanks Pamela for this post, I was thinking of the Breville, you saved me from a mistake.
Yep, I leaned I need to wait for the next model as I plan to get an air frying toaster oven to replace an old halogen toaster oven but the hot top will be an issue due to where it sits above the microwave. Good informative video which answered one of the questions I had about the ninja ovens.
Glad I helped and thanks for watching!!!
Already bought this for my mother for Christmas. I'm sure she will love it considering she needs a new small oven to bake many delicious recipes.
Thank you John. I have the DT201 after seeing you do a turkey in it and I could not be more pleased with it🤗 Since it let's you put a manual probe in (which I have) I feel I have the right oven. Sometimes extra features is just one more think that can break. Love your very informative videos🤗😘
I do see your point and there is nothing wrong with the method you are using... it is a really neat oven that had many uses...thanks for watching!!!
Just bought one because of your videos!!! Now waiting on the mail man😁
You are going to be impressed!!! Thanks for watching!!!
Very good to hear... Glad I have helped and I really think you will love this oven!!! Merry Christmas and Thanks for watching!!!
Didn't see it in action baking some chicken or turkey
Glad I waited! I’ll be getting the one with the probe. Thanks for the comparison video!❤️❤️
I think you will be impressed Sandra!!!
I'm waiting to see if they come out with a 251 with steam.
You are very welcome... thank you for watching!!!
We can only get the DT200 in the UK 😢, but there is dehydrate and reheat functions
@@JohnSanders my ninja grill air fryer has a splatter screen, my OG air fryer has just a course grate and just behind it the heating coil and impeller
We have the Walmart version and love it. Highest temp is 450°.
Nice... if you don't mind...I would love to know how low will it go and on which function...thanks in advance!!!
@@JohnSanders 250° for whole roast, air roast, and air fry. 180° for bake and pizza.

Wal-Mart version....?? Is it the DT200...?
@@theblake5356 yes. DT200
So which model is it you like so much one of the two on the counter or the one we can't see, somehow i got lost and confused here
The two on the counter... either would do for what I need... the one on the tablet screen... or... the Walmart version does not have reheat or dehydrate and I assume it will not go below 200 degrees (but I have not confirmed that) and I do a couple of recipes I need to be at lower temps... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
What is the best one to buy I like the one with French doors
I love the high functions that you explained. Does it toast evenly too?
Sorry not sure which oven you love
I have never found those oven probes to be that accurate but they will shut the oven off so that’s good.

Hi, where can I buy the DT251 from, I'm in the UK.
Hope they come out with a model that you can bake 2 loaves of bread in. Steam would be nice too.
Just purchased my DT251 at the Military Exchange for $213.99, it was a special price they were running today, they only had 10 that they just brought out and they were going in 45 mins, one Jerk tried to take someones that they had setting in their cart.
Dang!!! Glad to hear you got one... please let me know what you think!!! And thank you for keeping us safe!!!
I bought this over Costco Online for $200 on sale & lovin it
Thank You! I just bought mine after watching this!
It has a lot of uses... I've used mine for quite some time now
Great information. I did want to ask which one do you like better the Ninja 10 in 1 or the Breville air fryer pro? Thank you so much.
@@JohnSanders thank you. I appreciate you help.
well after watching you John I upgraded to the Amazon version and my DT201 will be going to a friends daughter

Costco has a deal on the more expensive one. 200! I was considering purchasing it and found your video while researching. Thanks!
Hello, great video thanks. I noticed the display on the model on the right was flickering very fast at the beginning of the video. Is it defective?
No...I meant to cover that in the video and I'm sorry I didn't... that is caused by my camera and it does not do that in person... or any time other that in this video...thanks for pointing that out and sorry I didn't address it... and thank you for watching!!!
How do you defrost Pita bread?
Thank you...and thanks for watching!!!
The manual says DT250... does it say DT251 on the oven?
What is the Jelly 007 thing about ?
Just a nickname I picked up years ago that started out as jelly belly and over the years dwindled down to jelly007...thanks for watching!!!
What about the DT201?
Hi john ordered the dt251 from amazon and did not get the splatter shield and noticed yours has it. Think I should call for swapping out
Not in my opinion but please watch my other video that covers this I have linked below...thanks for watching!!!
ua-cam.com/video/nxHC-I52iyY/v-deo.html
John, this ought to interest you, and also others who have or ordered the DT251, it’s listed on Ninjas Website, but with no description, and no price. The DT201 now costs $279. Now this should shock everyone, Amazon only has the DT251 available from 3 third party sellers, now are you sitting down? The price is $557.99. Very Interesting, and it looks like the Dt201 is now on preorder status.
I'll have to look into this... thanks for sharing Kerry!!!
The price is now $299 for the DT251, On Cyber Monday it was going for $199 on another site. This will give you some idea of the markup of these things.
Tom Clok, just checked and unfortunately Ninja site is posting it as not available right now. Now other outlets still may have some, that I don’t know.
Can you use the temperature probe model DT251 without the probe completely manual like you could with the DT201?
Yes... it is no different when temp probe not plugged in...thanks for watching!!!
Thanks!
Does either of the oven air fryers have a dehydrate function?
Yes... the DT201 and the DT251... the Walmart DT200 is the only one that doesn't...thanks for watching !!!
I use our dt201 for jerky all the time.
John we love your videos!

We made banana chips. Four hours at 180. Really good.
I think the dent might be the cause of the heating issue... I hope all is well when you get your new one...thanks for watching!!!
This thing does toast perfectly golden brown!
Hey John I'm looking at the ninja foodi xl air fryer oven is that good for a single person.
I guess... it is a little big for 1 though... but if I was single it is what I would have... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders your welcome
John, I am an 80 year old trying to learn to cook for myself… I watched the video with the smaller ninja using the skillet for steaks.. Are the larger Ninjas necessary for 1 person?
John. I bought the one on right in your video It is 50 degrees lower than reading. Love the seal on the door but food takes too long or I have to hike temp up. Is this as expected?
Which setting were you using? I have found the bake feature is the only setting that this happens on...
@@JohnSanders Yes! We are definitely experiencing this with the bake setting. Have not tried all settings as of yet.
I think that is the only one that does that...I would just add 25 degrees to recipes that call for bake... or even try the recipe as is...
Hello I like your channel on the ninja website they have 3 different models of this ninja oven but wiich is the one that comes with everything or the best?

Dt205a?

@@JohnSanders my white letters have disappeared also. After the first couple cooks, they just wiped right off when I cleaned the unit.
Great comparisons. Was afraid Walmart version was a tad smaller.

Do you have a favorite as some time has passed John? I’d love to buy one of these, just feel overwhelmed with trying to decide which model to buy!

@Richard Charles appreciate this. Thank you.
Hi Will the air fry basket and sheet pans from your dt251 fit into the dt201 or are they different size?
The ovens are the same size...thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders Good to know, I must have just gotten a dud! Super excited to try out the new one. 😁
Wow... my manual says not to run it without it...I would definitely call ninja...
@@JohnSanders I will do that. Interestingly the image on amazon does not show it having a splatter screen nor does the video for ninja on youtube showing how to use the thermometer.
I did not realize that but I will look at that in a little while...
This is all they have to say:

Which company pizzas do you use in your demo?
So I'm looking at the DT251. I can get the DT201 on a great deal at Kohl's but wonder if the smart cook system is worth upgrading. Do you like it better than the DT201?
I do but there are thermometers on the market that might work out better depending on your particular situation... but nothing wrong with either of these ovens... just my opinion though...thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders I have a thermoworks probe thermometer . Would it work the same if I used it with the 201 except it would not shut off the oven .

Thanks

I don't think but I do not have any contacts at ninja... I'm hoping they address why some do and some don't...

Did you order the magnetic case for thermometer separately or did it come with it
I think I ordered it separate..
How does the Ninja DT251 compared to your previous Breville smart Oven Pro?
How long it takes to air fry fresh made fries (2 full size) and how long to whole roast a 5lb chicken does it roast evenly without turning? Need to know compared to corosi or other air fryer oven.
I have not done either of those in this device so I cannot accurately answer... maybe I will before long...thanks for watching!!!

Is the air fry basket for the DT201 model the same as for the DT251 model?
Yes... identical in size and wattage... the only difference i can find is the temperature probe...thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders I’m only referring to the air fry basket, not the oven itself. On the ninja website, the extra air fry basket that you can buy for the DT201 says it’s compatible with the DT200 and DT201 models, but doesn’t specify that it’s compatible with the DT251 model.
It is though...I have both of those models and am extra basket that fits both...
Perfect! Thank you!
is it noisy? It doesn't seem like it from the videos. I have a little air fryer that I like but I want to be able to do a small turkey. Also, the one I have is noisy. I don't like being in the kitchen when it's on due to the noise. I'm planning on taking the one I have up to the lake and you've convinced me on the new Ninja. Just hope it's quiet.....
PS Thanks for the great videos!
I'm not sure I understand but the DT201 does not have preset and you set the temp and time with the dedicated buttons... Hope this helps...
@@JohnSanders Yes, it does. Ty!
It looks to me like DT200 SERIES means any model between 200 and 299, with the specific model labeled elsewhere on the unit (or if not, their bad). No idea what the LP3 means, though.
I’ve used my MEATER to test how hot inside actually gets. It actually doesn’t get to temp for about 15 minutes.
Yes the wire can pass through the door crack and that is how the DT251 does it... the oven turns off when door is opened...thanks for watching!!!
@@JohnSanders John, Thank you so much. So besides the SMART features such as shutting down when food reaches temperature, is there any other difference between the DT201 and DT251? Thank you, Jeff
Not that I am aware of... they are identical except for thermometer in my opinion...
Cuál es mejor o me conviene comprar ?😊
Other reviewers absolutely rave about the Ninja Grill model with the thermometer. I’m sure the oven and thermometer would be all that and some. And it really has a magnificent temperature range down to 100 degrees. You’re looking at proofing bagels at that temperature. But like you said, anyone who already bought the lower model can get around that without replacing the whole thing. Countertop appliances have sure come a long way.
They really have came a long way...I cook more than ever now just because how convenient these devices have made it...thanks for watching!!!
