Exo has a whole concept since the beginning, from their debut, they are aliens from Exo planet, every one has a super power (Baekhyun - light, Chanyeol - fire, Chen - thunder, D.O- strength, Kai-teleportation, Sehun-wind,Suho-water, Xiumin -frost), they show it in every MV.
They are hunted by the Red force, who captured them and cloned them, that's why in Obsession are shown both, the clones and the real ones, fighting against each other (the real ones in black, the clones-XExos in colors)
Every MV tells a story who goes further and more.
This comeback are missing 3 members, D.O and Xiumin are in the military, Lay is in China with solo projects, but even so, they are killing it, because every one of them can sing, even the rappers, that's why they are known as the vocal kings, they have the ability to mix music styles and create a unique sound, so amazing.

In this group u can find literally like literally everything: insane vocalists (some of the best in k-pop like our lead vocal line could be main vocalists in another group lmao), amazing dancers (fr I never thought dancing could make the same impact music makes in me. It's beautiful), great rappers (not ur regular crazy fast rap cause that doesn't fit with the exo style, but it's definitely a solid more musical rap lol and pretty skilled too), brilliant actors (one of them even got numerous awards from professional academy events), talented instrumentalists, producers and lyricists; and if it was not enough they have no visual hole like every single member could easily be a model. In fact, all of them have been the face of multiple magazines and the muse-global embassadors of big brands like freakin Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Tommy Hilfiger, Acqua di Parma, Bvlgari, Calvin Klein, Valentino etc (one of them launched an own fashion label called Privé which has been pretty successful). And bro they are amazing human beings wtf. One of the most rounded group out there. Exo is destined to success and longevity.

That guy in front is kai, he is the main dancer of exo along with lay but lay is not in this music video because he is in china. Kai is also the center of exo. Kai is also known as idol of idols because of his sharp dance movements.

It's interesting that you got to see first the dark side of exo comebacks by coincidence. When you get to see their other sides/comebacks it's gonna feel like a different group lol. The thing with exo is that they have a whole more complicated storyline under the surface but the concepts for every new comeback differ a lot from each other. They don't have a specific theme cause versatility is one of their best qualities, but they for sure have an unique style that differentiate them from other groups (not saying other groups don't have that too but u get the point).

This mv and the song represents the fight between their good and their bad side and it is also connected to their storyline..according to their concept and their story line the versions with colorful outfits and piercings etc. are their evil clones X-EXO created by their enemy to defeat them..Original EXO members are the ones with black outfits..
Not all of their mvs have dark concepts but they are usually more on the mature side of things..they rarely do cute concepts..

Exo to me always comes out with concepts they havent completely done before yet it still feels very... exo. If you watch all their comebacks you’ll get that feeling. Like you wouldn’t know what in the world to expect but they just seem to own it ones it comes out.
i remember kpop 2017 was EDM saturated and exo came out with...a reggae-EDM track for Ko ko bop and that was honestly so refreshing and weird (the choreo even better!!)
Or like the first time baekhyun showed up in an award show with heavy burgundy eyeshadow and then all the beauty shows and korean youtubes were giving out tips how to copy the “Baekhyun Burgundy eye makeup”😭😂 it was a ridiculous sensation. Or when kai wore a crop top for Tempo... (and his solo fancam went viral) after that, crop tops for men became super trendy in kpop and covers of his Tempo dance kept being covered by other idols.
For a group that’s been around for 8 years, they still set trends and that is not... usual😂 for an Idol’s career timeline in korea

A lot of people might say this, but their vocals are really good-I would go as far to say their live vocals are even better than their music videos sometimes, and that’s personally a first for me unless we’re talking about a singer like Adele.

Third, yes you are absolutely right that what makes exo unique is that they are different ,their concepts ,mvs,visuals ,choreographies, etc .they don't look like any other artist or band in the world and yeah I understand that you my feel sometimes lost watching their MVs but that's cause you don't know the whole story of how exo was formed

Chen is the one with incredible vocals he was playing chess, you're right there were two members from EXO in SuperM Kai that one with crop top and Baekhyun the one with blond white hair fighting on the stage. They are all amazing. I recommend you Electric kiss by EXO, doesn't have many views but it's a good song with darker concept, also MAMA debut song!

EXO is actually a Quintuple album seller which means that all of their FIVE albums had sold at least ONE MILLION copies each. They are one of the most awarded boy group in Korean Music Shows and they are considered DAESANG HARVESTER (Major award in a Year end awards show) But sadly they are slowly enlisting to military in fact on Obsession there are only six members coz the other one is at China and the 2 are at the military services.
I’m subscribing because you guys are so observant and come up with your own theories and not many youtubers do that which makes me think they are all reacting to them for the clout since they don’t seem to really wanna go deeper and truly understand the music videos and concept. I hope you guys would do more Exo reactions in the future!!
