Game changed my life. My mom was in stage 4 breast cancer. She knew i loved ffx and would watch me play. Now every time i hear a beautiful ffx song like this it’ll forever give me a memory of her
Thats the reason why people will never understand the true heart of a gamer. Is not only the game itself, its the music, your personal situation or motivation, your family, many factors in place. Many games helped me face and overcome difficult moments. Respect to you hermano mio. Greetings from Chile
I know the feeling, this song reminds me a lot of the good part of my childhood. Had a lot of bad but this one really brings me back to a peaceful time
The moment Yuna sets foot on Besaid I felt really sad because I remember my time with Tidus on the island hanging out with Wakka and now without Tidus Besaid felt lonely and it's perfectly expressed in this beautiful piece
Oh god it's literally 20 years since ffx... It's been 19 years since I first played FFX and almost 17 years since ffx-2. I remember the times this world gave to me and I am thankful for having lived them. I hope all of you out there live your best and that better times come to this world. Maybe it's time for our generations to make younger generations feel what we felt when we were the kids playing this decades ago... :)
@@lucaspressacco1107 Yeh, food for thought though Tidus and Yuna would be close to 40years old middle aged in the game world by now. :) Meaning Cloud would be like 45 xD And FF6 characters in their 50s. Time just flies
I agree, we can raise them with the good things we learned from these games too. I just hope they get to experience the same light I did because of these games and especially these songs. I hope that one day they'll hear something this peaceful and nostalgic and be ready to pass that good feeling on to them. I'm just happy we get to see it happen with our own eyes to our own little ones haha. It's such a gift. God I never thought I'd be saying the things my parents said either jeez.
This song always reminds me about these summer days where my only worries was if there will be a sunny day to go to the beach and talking with my friends about how to beat the next boss in FF. Good old times that never will come.
I play this song at the beach all the time people always ask what is the name of the song ahahahah make those time happen again man ! I haven’t seen my friends in years but life is full of memories as you said ! Aloha
this song make me feel calm inside and it has the atmosphere of island and beach rather than the first FFX, and the village too makes it feels like coming back home
I love this version. The guitar reminds me so much of Tidus and to me, it represents how when Yuna visits her hometown, she is greeted by memories of her childhood and her parents, as well as the boy who forever changed her life.
Beautiful.... Whenever I'm stressed I listen to this and it gives me chills down my spine. It rejuvenates me and lets me keep pushing and grinding for a better life. I hope the developers know how much of an impact these games have on our lives. Hopefully I've become a full fledged CPA once I come back to this video. One more test to go!
@@cooljsimpson6125 Appreciate the comment buddy! Listening to this again and now working at new company with a completed CPA exam. Life is going great. Still grinding but this song makes me appreciate the family i have. We were poor but didnt know it growing up because they always sacrificed and got me this game along with ffx on my birthday years before. Time to pay that back ten folds.
I fell in love with this theme when I heard it. It gives off *SOO* much story, like that feeling of: peace has finally come at last. Everyone is living happily! Wakka and Lulu are legendary guardians watching over the town and their newborn baby, stepping into parenting together. The Besaid Aurochs are still doing what they do best, practicing for the next blitz season ready for whatever challenges await them. Now they are probably known as the best team all throughout Spira. But under all the happiness of this song, there’s a tinge of something missing, a burning feeling of sadness. For many people, its the sadness of Tidus not being around to enjoy the peace he helped bring to Spira. But for me it’s the feeling of *NEVER* being able to experience the story and the world SE sprung to life for the first time ever again. That alone just breaks my heart...
This is what having a beam of sun wake you before noon and you get up to walk on the beach with partly cloudy skies and a gentle breeze should sound like.
i love this song i loved it before i even played this game. And when i got to this part in the game i just paused it to hear it. Btw love this version!! So relaxing!
The original Besaid theme is one of my favorite instrumental tracks of all time. I absolutely hate the "re-master" version, but I forgot how good the FFX-2 version is. It seems to be an "answer" to the original: the FFX version has a feeling of being in awe of the natural beauty around you while also having the repeating, dissident low tone to remind you of the impending doom that is Sin. This version has a feeling of bittersweet memories mixed with the comfort of home, since it is the place Yuna can most call home. People think Nobuo Uematsu is the be-all-end-all of Final Fantasy music, but people forget that two other composers worked with him for FFX (one of whom made the original Besaid track) and he had no involvement with the series after that.
I'm commenting, 8 months later, to tell you that I completely agree with you. FFX-2 Besaid jazz style gives it this longing feeling. Like, everything is "okay" but nothing could ever be "great" again. Even the playful guitar at the end is played over this unsettling jazz bass progression and it's so bittersweet. This is such a wonderful piece. I listen to it often. I hope you do too, stranger, and if you haven't. I hope you listen to it now. :)
When I hear this song, I remember my gf and my 2 dogs. One of the happiest time of my life. But sadly, my gf had to work abroad and I had to let my mother take care of the two dogs because I have to work everyday. Just makes you regret that you had all the best things in life, and you traded it all for insignificant things like work and money.
Been 20 years since X-2 came out now. Time flies. X-2 was a flawed game but one that was still solid and is nostalgic for me. Listening to this music and thinking about this game makes me remember a time where life was more innocent and I was more patient and able to take a lot of pleasure in little things and enjoy being in the moment.
I think it is the official or first version . either way I love both versions equally. This version however feels as tho yuna finally is back reunited back with tidus on the island.
Totally forgot about this tune, and this game. Though it was such an unnecessary addition to an already great story- I do have some fond memories of playing it as a kid when it came out
I have the CD this piece is from. It's called KUON: Memories of Waves and Light (release date: 2003) and it has three different arrangements of FFX-2 tracks: the titular KUON (or "Eternity - Memory of Lightwaves" as it's called in English), Besaid, and Yuna's Ballad. They're not in any version of the game, but they're official in that they have the same composers.
Damn. Even though I didn't like the game, X-2 had some fine tunes. So sad that the story and the characters weren't on par with the gameplay and the score... This game could have been great.
