Could you imagine if the Jazz had a young and healthy Mark Eaton when they faced Jordan's Bulls? Stockton and Malone in their prime, Hornacek spotting up, and BIG Mark down low...one of the greatest what-ifs of 90's basketball.

How tf was this a "what if"? I'm convinced you don't know what that phrase means 🤣😂🤣 a what if isn't taking players from different eras to play each other. It's something that actually had a realistic chance if happening like what if Rose didn't get injured. Not what if Rose was in his prime with the 90s Bulls 😂🤣😂

He should definitely be a hall of famer. He's fourth behind Hakeem, Dikembe, and Kareem respectively. That's the shot blocking Mount Rushmore right there. He's so far ahead of all active players he's not gonna lose that spot ever. Especially with the way the 3 point shot has taken the game further from the rim. Let's get him in there asap. I'm just sad he doesn't get to see it himself. Basketball owes him that honor and he's been overlooked too long. Class act, solid guy, and a true underdog story. What more could you want?

Mark was such a good guy, friendly, outgoing, and easy to chat with.

Watch any of a number of Mark Eaton film segments -like the '88 Jazz against the Lakers in the Western Conf. semifinals: Mark dominated Kareem Abdul Jabbar throughout in that series and stuffed many Jabbar shots and seemed to outrebound Jabbar very handily as well. the best thing about Eatons game was that when he would block shots, they wouldnt be knocked away - he always made sure to block shots in a way that was able to be used to start the break the other way

The narrator of this video is a hell of a motormouth: He never pauses; just talks nonstop...
Mark was I believe -- and still is somewhat underrated and underappreciated. Though not very athletic or mobile, he was not clumsy or awkward in his movements -like a Greg Ostertag. He was very smart and disciplined and blocked many or most shots cleanly...and got the most out of his athletic ability.
The vast majority of the time, as a Jazz fan from the early 90s to 2007, (I was a Lakers fan in the 80s) that he put up a shot -- the shot he put up was fairly or very accurate -- whether it be a 4 foot jump hook in the paint or a straight facing shot from 8-12 feet. He just wasn't allowed to shoot very often, however his shot accuracy was actually good for as big as he was...

He was a great defender and great shot. blocker . And that why the Utah jazz choose him.

Nowadays it would no longer be possible to concentrate only on defense, because no defense is played and may no longer be played.

We put offensive one-dimensional players into the Hall of Fame scoring Champions that sort of player I'm just curious if a guy that has single-season shot-block records and two-time Defensive Player of the Year Awards will ever make to the Hall of Fame

He's 100 percent not a hall of Famer. Your bar is too low and you're emotional because he recently died

Old aas oldhead here, Eaton was like a mythical creature. Crappy college center turned Worlds Tallest Auto Mechanic, turned DPOY after Frank Layden gave him a shot. I've seen him dunk flat footed and block shots just by putting his hands up, no jump or swatting motion. He was an NBA Frankenstein.
