I'm extremely happy with my Nano's! My room is small and I'm using it with the SVS Ultra Evolution Center, in a 7.0.2 ATMOS setup. Of course I'm missing my sub, but I can say that for my room if I've never listened a system with subwoofer, wouldn't miss it! SVS nailed for sure releasing a small version of their flagship bookshelf!
I'm thinking about upgrading my desktop speakers (mainly music while I work), these may be overkill (if there is such a thing, I have 2 SB1000 and 1 Klipsch R125W in the same 10x10 room), but, I don't care. I need to find a pair of these and listen to them.
Great review and spot on! I have four of the SVS Ultra Evo Nanos along with the SVS Ultra Evo Center and Ultra Elevations and a SB-2000 Pro powered by a Marantz Cinema 40 in my home theatre setup and I am quite pleased and often surprised at the performance of these Nanos. Even two channel listening is very pleasing to my ears and they do not disappoint for a small speaker.
Interesting that most reviews I’ve seen where there is less analytic analysis say this line of speakers sound good but the others who rely heavily on measurements say they are flawed. Who to believe? Trust your ears because you don’t listen with your eyes.
personally I would never buy based on a spec sheet or measurements. That's like buying a car based on the 0-60 time. Okay it's fast, but how does it feel? Perception is a powerful thing.
@@ItsElvis56 oh nice, those are great for the price!! SVS & KEF are both really popular so you should be able to demo them at bestbuy and see which one you like more.
You said everything I needed to hear. I will be pairing the nano’s with the RSL mini amp on my computer desk. I have the SB 1000 Pro and Micro 3000 already so I’ll be able to test to see what’s the better pairing
that's a solid micro system!! both of those subs are great but personally I enjoyed the SB1000 Pro more, the larger driver just sounded more effortless but the smaller micro is no slouch for how much smaller it is.
@@NemoPropaganda I've been playing the evolution Nano bookshelf all day and i am blown away. The bass is incredible. The sound has heft and weight to it. The thumping mid bass is surprising! Its even got lows! All this playing from the RSL mini amp! I'm certain that this the best speaker I've ever heard. I have a Denon X3800H to try it with. I'll report back after i put it through its paces
I'm looking to use these as fronts in my home theater. Already have a sub of course and will upgrade it. However, probably silly, but I'm thinking about spending the extra $200 for the looks of these over the recently discontinued Ultra bookshelf (from SVS Outlet) which is slightly larger. Think it will be a major difference?
I strongly support spending more to get the aesthics you want. All this stuff is furniture when it's turned off :). The larger old Ultras will play louder but the smalle Nano sounds a little better in my opinion, theres also the larger version of it which I have not reviewed yet but will hopefully soon.
Thank you for the amazing review Nemo. Do you think these would pair well with a Wiim Amp for a small living room(12x12)? And do you think the bass will be decent? I don’t want to add a sub
I don't know anything about the wiim amp so I'm not sure, as long as it has honest 50w RMS or more & a low noise floor you should be fine. As far as the room 12x12 is a square, the most challenging shape for good bass so its hard to say my bro but we all have some room challenges so you're not alone but it's hard to guess. Everyones taste for how much bass is enough is different. For some guys a set of speakers is perfect while other people need dual 18" subs to be happy. For the size these have really great bass.
Will add to the list. It's the largest size I would want and getting good performance out of a small speaker isn't easy. Many are too low sensitivity, too warm, too bright, thin mids, hard to drive, etc., and those can be among the popular ones. It can get worse. But finding good ones that do alot right (for me anyhow) is possible and I think I would like these (and I didn't like the Dyns). Using Opticon 1 now (the older model) with a sub and have a Triangle Zeta, budget but surprisingly talented speaker that plays well with any amp class. The potentials are this, the Closer Ogy (that may be my gateway into a small tube amp), possibly a Blumenhofer Acoustics Mini. If only SVS could do a walnut wood veneer. I wonder if 85dB would be too difficult for my small amp to bring to life. All the others I mentioned seem to measure around 88dB or higher and I have no issues in that regard.
@@NemoPropaganda The OGY isn't. A neat single driver transmission line speaker, perhaps not for everyone or all music/applications, but at 91 dB suitable for low power class AB, tube, perhaps class D as well. At a cost of course.
Great review as always, thank you!!!Because i listen through my pc nearfield do you you know if these are suitable for nearfield listening (aprox 4,3 feet) ?🎧🎤🎵🎶
Have you heard the slightly larger Ultra Evolution bookshelves? I have a proper sub and my room is quite small, so I'm wondering of the Nano's would actually sound better with a sub than the bigger/more expensive ones.
Yes! I have a review sample of both, the larger is more effortless sounding overall. The two speakers are nearly identical aside from the typical difference that comes with size. If the price & size difference aren't a big deal to you go for the larger, if the price & size are an issue then go for the smaller Nano :)

I love the R100 & R50M but they don't have enough bass to work without a sub, I have not heard the AE or Q350, out of your list I choose the Q150, it's small, has a great sales price, strong bass, and good clarity. It's not easy to drive so you'll need good amplification, something like an RSL iA255.1 or Emotiva TA1 will get the job done.
Call me biased. I have an aversion to speakers from this brand. Partially because they are the subwoofer company, partially because I have never heard any of their speakers since they don’t have dealers. That said, I am glad they are pushing the envelope and continuing to develop product.
@@billythestalker there is a trial period where you can return them if they don't please you. Very good customer service. I have several of their speakers. Their center channels are really good. Erin's Audio Corner showed the center speaker measurements and off axis performed very well.
wildly different, the supermon mini is very unique & niche, it's like the midrange & treble of a much more expensive speaker but none of the body or bass, that's why I rarely bring it up for comparison. It's detail retrieval, resolution, and separation cannot be matched by anything at or under it's price. But you give up midrange weight and any sense of fullness or bass. It's in a category all on its own and will be loved by the people who are looking for something unique in that particular way.
I don't know, I've only reviewed the Nano, SVS should be able to answer this questions since they make both products. I suggest emailing them directly.
why would it turn anyone off? power is cheap these days :). They don't decide on low sensitivity, it's just what happens when you make a small speaker that has a lot of bass, you can use 5 of these in a home theater and power them all properly with something as inexpensive as the Emotiva BasX A5 and that amp is very affordable at only $649. If you're using these for stereo again you can use something as inexpensive as the RSL iA255.1 which is only $120.
For an entire SVS Evolution speaker system in Gloss White, I wanted to pair a good white subwoofer to match. I'm looking at Arendal's 1723 1s either in Satin White or Gloss White. I can't decide. SVS does not make white subwoofers above SB-1000 pro.
there are a ton of white options luckily, REL just released the HT range in white a few days ago, a pair of 1003 MK2 or 1205 MK2 could be a cool pairing, of course the single 1723 1S is a great performer too!
