The Royal Mint never tires of screwing over their customers. It's like those James Bond bars, do the first one in a nice carded blister pack and then do the second in a plain vinyl sleeve, if you are going to make a series then make them uniform.
Agreed entirely Rod, it just makes me sick when they break a contract, which some people ended up pre ordering. Thus making the dealers back track and no doubt upset customers. This is why Martin doesn't do presales . He would rather wait and warn customers 🙄 I think that is a honourable thing to do.
Lovely bars thanks for highlighting. I'm currently on the Royal Mint website. This bar and Una & the lion 1oz silver are both shown carded. I will be extremely disappointed if they do come this way. To be fair it's not mentioned as carded in the text but that technically not as described if that's what they're sending out. I've heard they do send out in blister pack if you bulk buy? Will update once received.
MARTIN @ SILVER TRADER is the best. Genuine quality person. Has time for his customers. I find him often the cheapest and any savings elsewhere are not worth it cos I appreciate the capsules. Ill always buy from Silver Trader first every single time!
I get 99% of my Silver from him now. But some he just won't stock. And obviously Gold I go elsewhere. Infact he recommends many UK dealers for gold. But variety, service, and even trying to get a new series added to his already vast collection is all great. I try to run AceBullion just like his service
I think Wales has a leek as its symbol(a vegetable plant, very tasty). Edward's crown is a replica as Cromwell destroyed it during his brief rule. A new one was made when Charles II was restored as king after Cromwell's death.
I received both of my bars carded yay😊 but unfortunately one of them has a black spot either trapped in the packaging or on the bar. Will see if they let me exchange it for another.
That is why it is so disappointing that was shipped to dealers and distributors like this. But the RM kept that packaging to itself. I am sure a breach of contract could be in order if they wanted to.

Martin is one of the most honest and easy to reach dealers. Selling on a large scale and STILL offering 1-1 personal questions. He takes pride in his work which I know first hand can be daunting. I learned a LOT from him over the years I have been in his circle. My packages are shipped the same way. I would tell you about EVERY fault where necessary. I often get told that it's not faults but part of the artist, I still see them as faults. But my work ethics changed for the better. Thanks to Martin.
Agree with your comments about Martin, a top and honest bloke. However, its lucky he was never the one wrapping parcels for pass the parcel, kids parties would go on for ever!!! His sellotape bills must equal the GDP of a small country.
What about leaving it in the original royal mint package long term, say 20 plus years? Safe? I take it the royal mint use non PVC plastic, plastic that's safe for silver

Didn't we see something very similar to this controversy not to long ago? I cant remember which coin it was, but I'm pretty sure it was the 2023 colored Wedge-Tailed Eagle from the Perth that was being shipped without boxes and customers receiving coin with capsules only. It really depends on how you buy them. If you get them in that plastic vinyl, I suggest removing it from that and buying capsules. If you get them with capsules, they stack nicely. And if you get them with a card. Foam & a shoe box. But to size each slot. I am working on a custom box

It was a surprise when i ordered mine from a dealer and it came in just the plastic packet, for a limited bar all them should be in the packaging you get from the royal mint, usually royal mint are great with their packaging so it's disappointing to see.

@AceBullion Yes, but this is definitely a leek, not a daffodil. Check the design closely. You will see the leaves, stem, and at the bottom the fine fibrous roots.

Well the Good news for you is Martin has already taken it out of that plastic and put it in capsules. And if you want them naked than just pop open the capsule.
@@AceBullion i have had mine a a few weeks, i bought mine from Atkinson’s..and i have a shed load of airtites and i store them in guardhouse boxes….i really enjoy cutting them out of the plastic and putting them in capsules…….yes im very sad i know..lolol
