I definitely have to show this to my husband. He helped develop part of the engine for the actual F-22, and he would get a kick out of this!
Attention DX6 pilots. The correct way to setup the controls is to use Wing Tail Mix or Dual Ail confifuration. Set the right servo on Ail and the left on Aux. Then set Mix 1 Elev->Flap 100% This will give you full travel on the servos. If you just use Elevon setup you controls will move about 50%. if you look and the pass Pete makes tje aircraft has a huge roll rate but it will not unless you set it ul like this. BTW this is only fod the Dx6i I dont know about the stock or other controls
I like the how there's like gun shots in the background. Watching this plane fly and hearing the sounds of war reminds me of my time in the Gulf.
I just maidened it. It flies like a dream. Very maneuverable and when I ran out of power it glided very gently. The cockpit kept flying off even with it's magnet. So I velcroed it. Flies better than the T45, F9, F8 which I also have. Plenty of power.. The c.g is dead on. The battery has to be in the rearmost position otherwise it will be nose heavy..

Pete is right about flying his planes stock as advertised. He will let the audience know if anything is changed out I.E. RX or upgraded LiPO (normally high performance LiPO sold by Bananahobby). Watch some of his other videos. I have this plane and it is fast right out of the box with the stock ESC, stock EDF unit, supplied LiPO, and outrunner motor.
I've had this plane for several months now. Had no issues with assembly and flies great all stock. No issues hand launching it. I run Pete's signature 3s 850. plenty of power. one thing about my f22 it pulls to the right. I trimmed it out but it took some tweaking. Also, the stock fan needs to be balance. I flew mine for about 15 packs before I did a minor balance. other than that this plane is a great performer STOCK. Im going to get a new EDF fan, esc and 4s batts.upgrade!

That's right, set them straight Pete!!!!
reversing the blade spin is easy, just exchange the position of any two of the three wires attached to the motor, it doesn't matter which two you swap.

EPO will flex some. It is very durable and usually will flex quite a bit before breaking.
with the box stock he is just great at flying these

@Eiscakeman I had a silverlit 2 chn heli when I was a small boy.. Well, these things are toy grade.. The one in this video are hobby grade so there is a distinction between them... Get your favourite edf jet then, it's easy to work with when you crash.. epo is good with hot water.. do it slowly though..

I just bought one of these. Full throttle with a pretty strong hand launch and the thing didn't have enough power to stay in the air! It just nose dived into the ground!
Already been in touch with customer support. They are extremely helpful but still, the quality of this plane isn't very good.
*part2*If you want to fly and you don't have anyone to help you, I suggest to: (A) get a rc airplane simulator (fms is free, realflight demo is a good choise too) and try to learn how to fly infront of you in circles and land. (B) get a plane like bixler, axn floater or any other cheap trainer plane that will crash without breaking (at least the first 5 times :P *part2*
Twitchy in roll and sluggish elevator is classic tail heavy.

GYRO"S,, I am teaching myself to fly since there is no one else into this hobby where i live... i was thinking of adding a gyro for "ailerons"as it might make it easier to get used to and avoid crashing... the gyro can be switched on or off from my 9x flysky tx,so it would be almost like being hooked up to a buddy box... But not sure if adding a gyro would make this thing easier to fly...this would be my first EDF model..i only have 4 months on pretty fast and slow trainers... thax

From your comment it seems pretty obvious that your CG is too far back and your plane is tail heavy. Try moving the lipo forward a fair bit and see if it improves the flight, you'd be surprised how much of a difference it can make.
Foam isn't supposed to stand up to crashes, it's supposed to be easy to repair (which it is).
You should attach a needle at the end, that way if someone tries to steal the remote while it's flying, just make it fly towards him and *STAB*. :)

Nope. For my first flight I started with the CG a few millimeters forward of what the manual suggested (having had the same experiences in your comment), and it immediately plowed in on launch, having insufficient elevator authority to maintain nose up. Again I think it was mostly a power issue. I also stand by my comment on the low quality of the foam and other parts of this jet. I have other foamies and they are much more robust than the low-density, styrofoam cup quality of this jet.

Every jet would be as 'go fast or slow' as said, even if it's inverted. It is depending on your technique of control...this's the one that could be more easily to be floating without hard controlling...

This was my fourth plane (not a newbie) and I was very disappointed. Seriously underpowered with the stock 850mA. 1000 mA flies better, but I found it very twitchy in roll and sluggish in pitch. Almost uncontrollable, even with expo. Parts are crap and break on assembly and the low-density foam has the crashworthiness of a Faberge egg. I don't know what Pete tweaked to get his to fly like that, but my plane was crap. Looks great, flies lousy.

Realist This may be too late, but, don't buy this as your first plane, buy a Champ RTF, then a Trojan RTF...
By looking at your comment, i'm pretty sure you've not flown rc planes before meaning you're new. You should do some research, EPO foam is pretty darn strong...

hey um....its a great jet its rather fast....but you should get it......IF you have a grassy field with grass like 2 feet high and also go watch some "how to fly a" vids. hope this helps!
@Eiscakeman beginners should never come close to jets, warbirds and etc... but if you're entering EDF then thats a different question...

Unfortunately my plane is the same crap. my 1st take-off my fan sucked in the servo wire and broke the blades. I fixed it, but have to REVERSE the blade spin(if you know how plz tell)
my plane doesn't even look exactly the same.
the manual is fail: i have vertical stabilizers on cover showed that glued wrong way thick side in front instead of back.
I hope it will fly though with 1300mAh

Would you recommend this for a first time flyer? I don't have any experience at all flying RC jets and would really like to try this, but am afraid of crashing it. what is a good startup jet with all accessories?

I don't think so. It doesn't look like a stock TX he is using. And since you want to get a RTF for this plane and you couldn't tell it wasn't a stock TX I'm quite sure you're a beginner. Bad first plane...

*part1*gyros will help you fly in winds, nothing more. If you do get a plane with gyros treat it like any other plane. You should have an experienced person to help you: set the plane correctly, set the transmitter correctly (expo etc), to do the first flight in order to trim it.*part1*
Quick question. How do you know when your battery is going to die? Does your plane just fall out of the sky? Or does it tell you on the radio? Thanks in advance.
The F-35 is better, its slightly bigger but it has a larger turbine for greater speeds.
