    It was super easy to install, I was upgrading from an infant carrier to a bigger seat. She loves it, no longer complains ( whines / cries ) when I put her in her big girl seat. She looks super comfy in it.

    Foonf allows the rigid LATCH (isofix) installation to the full 65 pounds so long as you add the seat belt in addition (which is an easy addition) and obviously continue to use the tether at all times forward-facing.

    With the Rava, you need to put the seat belt in the locked mode in addition (the plate is not a seat belt lock-off). For forward-facing with the Rava, the tether should also be used (which wasn't shown in the video).

    I decided to go with a second Foonf for my newborn daughter. We have been using a Foonf with my son (3 years old and still rear facing) for 2.5 years now. I was intrigued by the new Nuna Rava as we love many products from the brand. However, I've decided to stay loyal to Clek. It's comfortable (according to my son), can be used for extended rear facing, is narrow enough to put 3 in the back seat, and the fabric is a dream (ours still looks new after 2.5 years!). Thanks for the great video comparing the two seats!

    In the video you state that both the Foonf and Rava can rear face to 50 pounds, which is true, however one difference is that the foonf can only rear face to 43 inches tall and the Rava can be used until 49 inches. This is not to try and sway anyone into either seat, I'm having tough time deciding myself. I feel like the Foonf has more accident safety features but the Rava's increased rear facing height is a safety feature in itself as well.

      What a great comment. Thank you so much for sharing that fact - you are exactly right.
      As for safety features, I think the seats are engineered very differently, and even though the Rava does not have the REACT system like the Foonf it still performs exceptionally well in crash testing.
      Thanks for being a part of our UA-cam community so great to have you.

      Eli - Can you clarify on the height limit? Your comparison chart lists the same height limit for both Nuna Rava and Clek Foonf - both 49 inches. mbeans.com/Plugin/AFSB-ResourceCenter/Media/Resource/Convertible-Car-Seat-Comparison-Chart-10-7-16.pdf

      Ohh that is a big deal since a lot of kids will out grow the seat in hight before weight.

      moonseesme, can I ask which you chose? I’m having the same debate in my head right now. I’ve always wanted a fnoof but my almost 3 year old is already 40 inches and i want to keep him rear facing as long as possible.

    Hi can you do tutorial on how to clean the clek car seat and remove the fabric to be washed? We’re having a hard time finding this info

  • @danielgonzalez4079

    Good review. But please do not install the nuna rava as shown in this video. You have to engage your car's seatbelt lock mechanism and remove the slack. The plate is made to take care of the the final inch or two of slack that makes every carseat without one difficult to install. It is not for locking the seatbelt. In a crash that installation may not adequately protect the child.

    I just ordered the fnoof from Magic Beans. Thanks for this detailed comparison review. We have a pipa and it was a tough decision, but that clek fabric is just incredible. With these convertibles going up to 65lbs we're talking like 7 years in the seat. That's a lot of time to accumulate stains and spills!

    I would love to see a 2-3 year old RF in both seats. We have foonfs, a fllo and a britax clicktight (for grandparents car) and find the clek seats have so much more room in the seat with out all of the cushy padding and her legs also have more room. Also, how does the nuna compare to clek widthwise for 3 across?

    • @MagicBeansVideos
      @MagicBeansVideos  8 років тому

      Hi there! This question always depends on the vehicle. The Nuna Rava is 19in wide vs. the Clek Foonf at 16.9in wide. So it will be more difficult, but not impossible in a larger vehicle. We will most likely be recruiting our Head Buyer's daughter to get some pictures in the Rava :) Great suggestion!

    Can the Clek be installed on the middle seat in rear facing or forward facing position?

      Yes, but likely only with a seatbelt not the isofix in the FF position.

    I currently have the uppababy mesa in the middle seat of my Acura MDX. I'm looking to replace with the foonf. I would like to retain the center position for optimal safety, but I'm concerned about the size of the foonf. My wife likes sitting in the back passenger side seat, and there is currently more than enough room for her. Do you think the foonf will allow her sufficient space to retain same seating position? Or is the foonf too wide?

    • @MagicBeansVideos
      @MagicBeansVideos  6 років тому

      Hi there - the Foonf is actually very narrow! It's 17in wide (allowing it to fit 3 across in the back seat) so as far as width you'll be just fine.

    how compact it the nuna rava? is it more compact then a radian with aa?

    • @MagicBeansVideos
      @MagicBeansVideos  8 років тому

      Hi Juliana!
      The Rava has a very cool angle adjuster, and is definitely going to be more compact for your car than a radian that in my opinion if very hard to fit in many cars as it's very long with only one position of recline.
      Let me know if you have any other questions.

    I take from this review that the rava is the better of the two?

    • @MagicBeansVideos
      @MagicBeansVideos  8 років тому +1

      Hi There! It's Eli from the video. I'm sorry if I seemed biased in the video as I don't think the Rava is better than the FOONF, I guess I was just really excited about the innovation.
      When it comes to rear facing installation, I think the Rava is amazing, but if you are using the Clek Foonf Isofix (rigid LATCH) - it can hardly install easier. I love that the Foonf is 17" wide - which is perfect for three across the back seat, and it has the revolutionary REACT energy absorbing crumple zone, which is loved by car seat advocates everywhere (including me).
      I know it's hard to figure all of this out, so if you have any further questions, please e-mail us at questions@mbeans.com or you can book a complimentary car seat consultation here:

    • @MagicBeansVideos

      Hi Ashish!
      Cleks are actually made in Canada :)
      Nunas are made in China, but they are made in a wonderful factory with both top labor and environmental practices.
      Thanks!

    Which would be better for a tall and chunky baby? I’m leaning towards the Nuna Rava but heard the Foonf has less chemicals in the material. Thx!

    Thanks for the video. For future reviews, please avoid saying "uhm". In this video you said "uhm" 70 times within first 7 minutes, this is 10 "uhm''s every minute or one "uhm" every 6 seconds. I did not measure how long it takes for you to say "uhm", let's say it takes half a second, that means you made your subscribers to sit and listen your 'uhm" for over 30 seconds while watching a 7 minute review - quite annoying.
