Would really love to know your thoughts on this place. Too rustic? Put off by the outdoor shower or composting loo? Not rustic enough - feel like you would prefer to be under canvas and on sleeping mats?? What did you like or dislike about this place?
Hi Jamal, no worries on the late to comment front... I'm late to reply too as I'm out and about adventuring at the moment! So pleased you enjoyed this one too, and as always, you're most welcome! 🙏
Compost toilet and outside shower for me only a yes in summer. A trip to the loo in the middle of the night and an outside shower in winter is a definite NO. But much better than a tent. Looking forward to the rest of the series. Thanks Caroline.
You and me both about summer. I read some reviews from people who'd stayed in autumn and spring and I can't see myself chancing booking it when the weather is so iffy then! So pleased that you're looking forward to what is still to come. Next week will move onto Cornwall
Well I'd definitely stay there, it's marvelously situated and beautifully well equipped and seem to be well maintained. I've used outdoor showers before and they are rather nice being out in nature, and as for the compost toilets, if they are well maintained they aren't a problem. As you mentioned in the US parks, you enter them and often find they don't smell of roses🌹. A great review 👍
Totally agree about the outdoor shower - was lovely being surrounded by nature - something very free-ing about it. Thought I imagine it's less pleasant when it's cold or raining (more so immediately after the shower). I've kept hearing Van Lifers talk about how amazing the composting toilets are, so figured I'd give it a go as no reviews of the place said it was bad and you're right, it looks like if they're maintained well, they feel and smell just as clean as a normal loo! So pleased you joyed the video/review!
I thought for a second this was going to be your shortest tour yet! Good to have a look around, looks very cosy but when you're out exploring by day what else do you need?! Nice that they leave an OS m👍ap of the area - very useful when you're not from those parts. Love the look of the Apple Wagon from outside, it looks even smaller out there than when you were inside showing us around 😂. Really impressed with all the facilities, they've seemingly thought of everything. Yeah I would definitely stay there, looks like it would be part of the Devon experience. Excellent tour, well done!
Hi Matt. Thank you for your lovely comment and so pleased you enjoyed it! I'd be inclined to agree that the owners had thought of everything as we didn't want for anything during our stay!

Ah I did wonder why on Airbnb it showed shepherd's huts as only in the UK and France, but it makes sense if we were the only nations who used them traditionally! I also had no idea West Moreland is now Cumbria... even I get to learn things from yourself... its like a full circle!
