I always love hearing about and seeing places pertaining to the early pioneers and the Oregon Trail. And I always love hearing about places that most people never stop to see. Thank you for both.
Beautiful places here. That spring kayak trip was wonderful. Too bad the wind made so many ripples that you couldn't see a completely clear shot of the water as you were paddling. None the less it is a gorgeous area. Thanks.
I’m sure you figured out that a single person in a two person canoe sits backwards to center the weight and keep the bow down. Love that nice inflatable!
You’re one of the most genuine UA-camr in this genre . Don’t change. I stopped watching other similar channels after figuring out that they are full of crap. The other youtubers would be selling us the $150 crocs and whatever new product that they all seem to only use for one video. Kudos to you and safe travels. Cheers
Thank you so much for making this video! I was one of the four individual litigants for a 10 year lawsuit against the Federal government in order to protect Box Canyon. (We won!😄) Now I'm terribly arthritic and miss the canyon and kayaking to Blue Heart SO MUCH! I shared with my nephew who's never been here (I live downriver in the canyon below Bliss). Because of your effort I can say...see? See??? Blue Heart was pure white sand and blue water when I was young. The vegetation is the result of local dairy and fish hatchery run offs that added nutrients to the river. Still... it's still magical. A cold swim on a hot day, used to be always just you and your friends. If you hike the canyon trail in the summer you will meet rattle snakes...so be on guard and walk with a snake stick. Thank you, again!
Due to injuries, I will most likely never be able to hike or go on an adventure like this again. So Its really great to follow you as you are on this journey, I get to live vicariously through these videos. Thank you
Camping myself and stopped in a library to check email. Couldn't help opening this, but with no earphones I can only watch, not listen! How beautiful! The color of the water - oh my:)
I lived in Mountain Home Idaho for 3 years and loved every moment. Sand dunes, mountain skiing, hot springs, desert, white water rafting, horseback riding, and beautiful people. I will move back there soon!
This one was bittersweet. I lost my Dad almost 2 years ago. In 1983 he moved us from Denver to Seattle. Whenever he would go back to CO he would always.... always breakdown in his vehicles at Glens Ferry. I don4 know what it was about that town lol.
At age 82 and poor health, my travel day are over, so I really enjoy watching your adventures and daydreaming. Often, at the end of an adventure, you tease for next day, but I haven't worked out how to jump to that "next day" in UA-cam. That's frustrating.
Incredible! That water is AMAZING! Just added Box-Canyon-to-Snake-River to my bucket list. Tristan, you just keep giving us gift after gift. Thanks so much!
As we've come to expect from you, a video of sublime, unusual places filmed beautifully, and filled with pertinent, interesting information. Well done - again.
Those two springs were something else, wow! Only wish you would have included some more Jacques Cousteau footage in that crystal clear water. And two craters to top it all off. Nice!
Thank you so much for this. I have only driven through on my way to the coast and always wanted to go back and do more on the Snake River. I am so motivated now! Great video! Idaho is a gem.
What a wonderful video! We love the Box canyon spring with that incredible clear water. It was fun watching you use your new pack raft as well! Thanks ⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️🙏
Caribbean of Idaho. Perfect name & the drone footage in this video is fantastic in showing the true size of these sights. Enjoyed it all. Thanks Tristan for all your great videos 👍🏻
Wow... I love that u got this boat. It will open up more adventures for yourself (and us). Thank you as always taking us places that some of us are not able to get too.
Wow you could go snorkeling when its warmer. So beautiful! Makes sense about the craters. From what I learned, the magma chamber from Yellowstone is under several states including part of Idaho. They say the magma chamber is larger than the Grand Canyon.
Thank you Tristan! I’m loving this trip! The camp fire history is unbelievable. Thanks for taking us to the craters. Southern Idaho is amazing. Your videos are the best!
One of my favorite videos to date. Haven’t been to box canyon or blue heart springs in years so it was especially nice to see the drone footage. I grew up in the Buhl area. Had never been to the three island crossing. They used to do a reenactment of the crossing every year. That stopped a long time ago. I think someone was actually killed. The craters were completely new to me. Really enjoy your videos and all the information. Keep up the awesome work. Have a fun holiday weekend
Yeah, the lady at the entrance booth at Three Island Crossing was lamenting the fact that "young people" don't want to do the crossing anymore. Shrug. Thanks for watching, Jennifer!
I love learning about and seeing the geology of the area. It was interesting seeing you set up the kayak and watching you paddle. Thanks for another great video!
Just beautiful. Idaho has always been my favorite state after California. My favorite part was the rafting...so relaxing and I felt like I was right there with you Tristan. Glorious.
I saw a video a few years back of people scuba diving in this area, and they described the enormous aquifer that is stored in the Snake River Plain basalts.
Hey Tristan, thanks for another great video. I really enjoy seeing so many cool places to visit out west. Most of them I've never heard of, being a Florida girl. You take us to all the remote, out of the way spots, which are usually the best places!
If you're solo in that kayak then, if you can, move your single seat to that forward position but turn it around and face it the other way. Much better balance
I love how you just go with the flow and do whatever feels right to you. My plans often don't pan out and whatever happens...just happens. I've come across so many pleasant surprises with scenery or meeting a new friend. Anyway, great adventure, Tristan, and I love the adventures with the RAV 4. I'm anxious to see what your next vehicle will be.
Great video Tristan. Having Blue Heart Springs to yourself, mostly, that's some kind of miracle. Three Island Crossing is great to visit. I loved the interpretive center. It told a great story and didn't gloss over the history. It told the good and the bad of that area. If you camp at the park though you need white nose machine. Trains pass by the park all through the night and blast their horns.
I was surprised too! The other people in the kayak showed up as I was leaving. Yikes, yeah, those trains can be super annoying, especially if you're not expecting them. Thanks TJ.
What a great video! The underwater shot... wouldn't even know you weren't in the Caribbean. The 2 craters... amazing scenery with all the green. Thanks for the Oregon trail history lesson. Very very interesting. I very much enjoyed the video
Love your videos so much! Especially when you go to a place that I have actually been. I did a solo Idaho trip back in 2019 and hiked along the rim of Box Canyon... didn't really know you could hike to the bottom... oh well. I am doing a solo western North and South Dakota trip in September and your past videos on that area have helped me a ton with what to see. Thanks!
Outstanding video, Tristan. Idaho is so under-rated, but that is part of its appeal...fewer visitors. I have a two-person inflatable kayak, but it is much heavier. I would never pack it anywhere. I really enjoyed this video.
It’s so great you’re showing how beautiful southern Idaho is to those that would normally overlook it! Headed back to SE Idaho and Poky this August and I’m so glad you’re showing these videos now so we can plan extra stops accordingly! P.S. playing Oregon Trail on your phone is almost just as good as it was in elementary school! 😅 it’s so cool that’s you’re showing those places in person.
We loved our foree into Idaho.southern, central and northern..My fav spot was Stanley Idaho.!! romantic for my husband's and my 35 wedding Anniversary.
Thanks for sharing about what happened on the Oregon Trail. I'm a big history buff and can't imagine what it was like back than. We are so lucky and blessed today. The canyon and the river was really too. Thanks for letting me come with you.
Yes!! One of my favorite places…. Used to go there every few weeks! Awesome in every season! And great idea to bring along the kayak! We’ve only ever done box canyon and blue heart in separate trips.
Nice. That spring unexpected. I wonder if you could snorkle down it, Cautiously. Beautiful and interesting. Liked the floating and the droning. Thanks for sharing...
That water was unbelievable clear!! And beautiful!! You know it’s clear when you can see your kayak shadow on the bottom of the cove. The whole video was interesting. Love stories of the Oregon trail. Oregon trail was the first computer game I ever played, probably before you were born, in the 80’s sure has changed a lot since then with a 64 bit computer with the yellow or green screen.
The springs are absolutely beautiful. What a treasure. Could you drink the spring water as is? The carp looked so peaceful. Info about the Oregon crossing, volcano craters lots of interesting info. Thanks for another great and exciting video. Safe travels 💕
Woa, headwaters of the Snake.....Totally awsome Tristan. Have been up on Mt Emily last week near the area above Brookings that you checked out previously. Fished the Winchuck.....a little slice of heaven. Love your work, keep it rolling And the Golden Trout episode was epic! Thanks 😎
I always love hearing about and seeing places pertaining to the early pioneers and the Oregon Trail. And I always love hearing about places that most people never stop to see. Thank you for both.

Kudos to you and safe travels. Cheers
Also you’ve exposed me to places that I’ve never heard of and have added those places to my travel plans.
Thx for showing us more of the American west, that water sure is clear
Hey Tristan, 65 degrees of late 48 in the evenings, and only a few mosquitos...you sir are a poet!
Lol thanks Mitchell! Happy travels.
How beautiful! Thank-you for another great video and the time you take to show us everything! 🙂
Never knew Southern Idaho was so gorgeous 🤔

I lived in Mountain Home Idaho for 3 years and loved every moment. Sand dunes, mountain skiing, hot springs, desert, white water rafting, horseback riding, and beautiful people. I will move back there soon!
I’m in love with such crystal clear water you manage to find some of the most beautiful places 🥰🥰
This one was bittersweet. I lost my Dad almost 2 years ago. In 1983 he moved us from Denver to Seattle. Whenever he would go back to CO he would always.... always breakdown in his vehicles at Glens Ferry. I don4 know what it was about that town lol.
Such beautiful crystal clear water. What a gorgeous canyon.
Those Spings were beautiful and so were the 3 islands! Idaho is beautiful! Thank you for the history!❤️😀🇺🇸
I'm surprised someone hasn't taken that spring and turned it into a bottled water business. So thankful to see it natural and preserved.
At age 82 and poor health, my travel day are over, so I really enjoy watching your adventures and daydreaming. Often, at the end of an adventure, you tease for next day, but I haven't worked out how to jump to that "next day" in UA-cam. That's frustrating.
The clarity of that water rivals the Bahamas !!
Thx for the tour !!
REALLY ENJOYED the tour.
My favorite part was the Oregon Trail history lesson.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!
Box canyon was beautiful. I think there are a lot of underappreciated places like that out there. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing this is super amazing, really liking that raft. A multi-day river trip would be fun to see.
What a beautiful place. I have to go there. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe and good luck
That water is so beautiful and clear! I love your raft!❤️😀🇺🇸
Incredible! That water is AMAZING! Just added Box-Canyon-to-Snake-River to my bucket list. Tristan, you just keep giving us gift after gift. Thanks so much!
Loved the underwater shot. That really showed how clear the water is!
Great slide guitar music and excellent drone footage too!
As we've come to expect from you, a video of sublime, unusual places filmed beautifully, and filled with pertinent, interesting information. Well done - again.
Loved this video. Loved the drone footage over the kayak and also the history about the wagons crossing. Thank you!
Those two springs were something else, wow! Only wish you would have included some more Jacques Cousteau footage in that crystal clear water. And two craters to top it all off. Nice!
Tristan, this may be your most interesting video ever. As far as what was my favorite? I think the part from 0:00 to 31:53.
Thanks Steve, I'm glad you liked it!
Thank you so much for this. I have only driven through on my way to the coast and always wanted to go back and do more on the Snake River. I am so motivated now! Great video! Idaho is a gem.
This place is always crowded now. You are super lucky to have had it to yourself.
What a wonderful video! We love the Box canyon spring with that incredible clear water. It was fun watching you use your new pack raft as well! Thanks ⭐️⭐️⭐️❤️🙏
I have been all over Idaho over the past 20 years but never been to Box canyon. Another great video, enjoy your Memorial day weekend.
It's definitely worth the visit!
Caribbean of Idaho. Perfect name & the drone footage in this video is fantastic in showing the true size of these sights. Enjoyed it all. Thanks Tristan for all your great videos 👍🏻
Thanks Sharon!
A day of awesome scenic footage; thanks for sharing unique cloud formations as well. 🌾
A REALLY INTERESTING video today! Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks Dovie!
Wow... I love that u got this boat. It will open up more adventures for yourself (and us). Thank you as always taking us places that some of us are not able to get too.
I'm excited for it too!
As a kayak lover, I'm thrilled you are going to be sharing more of your new adventure purchase!
Thank you for all the effort you put in to bring the beauty and dome history of our country. The areal shots are awesome.
Wow you could go snorkeling when its warmer. So beautiful! Makes sense about the craters. From what I learned, the magma chamber from Yellowstone is under several states including part of Idaho. They say the magma chamber is larger than the Grand Canyon.

Love how you revisited a spot from before, but found something new to do and it was so pretty. Safe travels Tristan! Loving your videos!
We use pullout to boondock overnight several times. Even used one for about a week and a half south east of Bigfoot. No knocks on the door there...
I love learning about and seeing the geology of the area. It was interesting seeing you set up the kayak and watching you paddle. Thanks for another great video!
Idaho is beautiful. My parents grew up there. Thank you for sharing this area.
Just beautiful. Idaho has always been my favorite state after California. My favorite part was the rafting...so relaxing and I felt like I was right there with you Tristan. Glorious.
I've always said that Idaho is the most underrated state in the West. Thanks for watching!
It's amazing what you can find if you get off the interstates and look around. Great video! Thank you for sharing your adventures!!
I saw a video a few years back of people scuba diving in this area, and they described the enormous aquifer that is stored in the Snake River Plain basalts.

What a great video! The underwater shot... wouldn't even know you weren't in the Caribbean.
The 2 craters... amazing scenery with all the green.
Thanks for the Oregon trail history lesson. Very very interesting.
I very much enjoyed the video
Thanks Kristen!

Thanks Tristan. You motivated me to camp in the Alvord desert a couple of days ago in my Cherokee. Keep up the safe travels
Your videos are always great! Thank you for the interesting trip today, the history and scenery were awesome. Well done Tristan!
I like the strict planning... " I changed my mind " LOL Best to go with the flow.
The benefits of having daylight and being on your own!
It’s so great you’re showing how beautiful southern Idaho is to those that would normally overlook it! Headed back to SE Idaho and Poky this August and I’m so glad you’re showing these videos now so we can plan extra stops accordingly!

Absolutely stunning footage! Looking forward to seeing the rest of this trip!
Cool volcanic craters I have never seen close up
Absolutely love all your treks. Thanks for sharing. Amazing find.
Carp caught on a 6 or 7 weight fly rod are FUN to catch. Not sure what the Tenkara equivalent would be.
26:30 looks just like Teletubby Land! Very nice video!
Hi Tristan...that was an awesome beautiful place.. thanks for your amazing videos..be safe out there 😊
my favorite part was all of it. Anyone else addicted to these videos? 😊
Thanks! 😁
Super day. Thanks for sharing!!!
Those craters are something.
Thanks so much what an interesting trip. Box Canyon is definitely worth seeing, absolutely fabulous.
The water was awesome. I especially enjoyed the view under the water.
My list of places to visit get longer with each of your fab videos! So well done! Have a great holiday ramble! Can't wait for the next adventure!
We loved our foree into Idaho.southern, central and northern..My fav spot was Stanley Idaho.!! romantic for my husband's and my 35 wedding Anniversary.
I have visited the winery there a couple times, good food and they are a Harvest Host site
Idaho is beautiful. I wish I would have had time to explore it when I was there. Thanks for sharing, Tristan. 🙂

Hi, I really liked, how clear and turquoise the water was. Thank you for going out of the way, to bring, awareness of these beautiful places.
One of your best. Really enjoyed the springs and Islands
Thanks Beth!
Thanks, Tristan, we enjoyed that a lot!
Tristan.... You've saved me a LOT of money on travel. Your videos are so good. Lol

It's really pretty, but I bet that water is FREEZING! Thanks for bringing us along with you. Jane in SC ❤️ 🙏
There's some pretty water.
We love all your adventures!!!
The springs are absolutely beautiful. What a treasure. Could you drink the spring water as is? The carp looked so peaceful. Info about the Oregon crossing, volcano craters lots of interesting info. Thanks for another great and exciting video. Safe travels 💕
Beautiful. Great place to visit.
Thanks for watching!

Simply spectacular looking water. Thank you so very much Tristan 👍🤗
The Drone view of that bay...
Outstanding!
Thanks Michael!
Great birding along the river.
That was so nice...all that lovely blue water. It would be nice to live in Idaho...during the summer. I don't like the snow.
